      sadly you are learning it the bad and overcomplicated way
      one example to listen to 1 track just click solo instead of individually muting the other tracks...

    Thank you for doing this. I tried to watch 2 other "tutorials" on the same subject before I found this one, but both of them were infested with one or two minutes of blah-blah-mumble-mumble-mumble at the beginning without the first word about how to use Audacity and I gave up on them. This one is perfect: no verbal diarrhea, clear and distinct elocution and useful information. Thanks again.

    This is a well developed resource, with the transcripts available for learners with disabilities and handouts to help learners apply the learning as they work with the tools. Thank you for providing this openly and putting a creative content license on it so that teachers can remix it to suit their own contexts.

    Hello there, what I'm trying to do with audacity is recording harmony on multiple tracks but the problem I'm facing is when I play the first track or the guide track to guide me while I'm recording the second track so I'm duplicating the first track to the second track like on the second track I can hear the lead as well as the harmony. How can I can I play the first track to guide me like a click while I'm recording the second track without duplicating?

    instead of silencing tht particular music where the recording takes place .. could u keep tht music as a background music instead of silencing the whole thing?

    • @diamonddavemusic
      @diamonddavemusic 6 лет назад +1

      Yes, instead of the "fade out" effect, just use the "amplify" effect and select the portion of the song you want to use as background, then reduce the amplification or loudness. You may want to use gradual "steps" to create a type of fade-out and fade-in effect of your own so the sound level change isn't quite as harsh or abrupt. Also, try a search on YT for "amplify with audacity". Hope that helps.

      Double click the section of audio you want to move until the entire 'clip' is surrounded by yellow, the use the time shift tool on the yellow surrounded clip you want to move.
