sadly you are learning it the bad and overcomplicated way one example to listen to 1 track just click solo instead of individually muting the other tracks...
Thank you for doing this. I tried to watch 2 other "tutorials" on the same subject before I found this one, but both of them were infested with one or two minutes of blah-blah-mumble-mumble-mumble at the beginning without the first word about how to use Audacity and I gave up on them. This one is perfect: no verbal diarrhea, clear and distinct elocution and useful information. Thanks again.
This is a well developed resource, with the transcripts available for learners with disabilities and handouts to help learners apply the learning as they work with the tools. Thank you for providing this openly and putting a creative content license on it so that teachers can remix it to suit their own contexts.
hooray for you to have made this video. this mixing of tracks is the principal reason i have to buy this wavepad s/w. and until now have not found any tutorial on how its done. this makes my day.
Thank you so much. It's an amazing Tutorial.. All the DAWs looks like rocket science for me as I haven't learned.. But looked very Complicated and thanks to Audacity for keeping it simple and thanks to your great explanation..
THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR, THIS IS ONE OF FANTASTIC TUTORIAL EVER SEEN, YOUR TUTORIAL IS ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTANDABLE , AND I THING YOU ARE THE BEST ON YOU TUBE TEACHING MASTER, AND ALSO I LEARN VERY IMPORTANT THINGS FROM YOUR VIDEO TUTORIAL PROGRAMS , THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR, AHAD FROM SYLHET BANGLADESH,
found this vid and it has been truly very helpful. Thank you for taking the time, I know its a few years since you put it out. But today in 2020. I followed and did and my track came out perfect. kudos!!
Thankyou so much sir, it really helps me a lot as a beginner. This was only recommended by my classmate in order for me to use whenever there is a project at school.
Thank you so much for the above tutorial. I wouldn't be able to be using the software only with the available Manual and Help. Please keep bringing its features! :-)
Hello there, what I'm trying to do with audacity is recording harmony on multiple tracks but the problem I'm facing is when I play the first track or the guide track to guide me while I'm recording the second track so I'm duplicating the first track to the second track like on the second track I can hear the lead as well as the harmony. How can I can I play the first track to guide me like a click while I'm recording the second track without duplicating?
instead of silencing tht particular music where the recording takes place .. could u keep tht music as a background music instead of silencing the whole thing?
Yes, instead of the "fade out" effect, just use the "amplify" effect and select the portion of the song you want to use as background, then reduce the amplification or loudness. You may want to use gradual "steps" to create a type of fade-out and fade-in effect of your own so the sound level change isn't quite as harsh or abrupt. Also, try a search on YT for "amplify with audacity". Hope that helps.
Double click the section of audio you want to move until the entire 'clip' is surrounded by yellow, the use the time shift tool on the yellow surrounded clip you want to move.
I use the time shift tool & it moves both tracks at the same time. How can I stop this to just move the bottom tracks without moving the top track too?
Thanks, this was a good video! Only piece of constructive criticism I have is to limit the lip smacking and mouth noises in future videos. Overall a helpful video, just would be better with less "mouth sounds."
Thank you ! I would like to know, when you mix the songs with audacity, do you use headphones or monitors ? I mix my songs with headphones but when i play it on the monitors it sound totally different.
Thank you very much for your video, but I have some problems with Time shift Tool, It wouldn't work for me, two songs are moving at the same time and the same direction whenever I use time shift tool , could you please tell me what can I do ? Thank you. Ken
Can you help me? I have a question, I'm using mixing board do I also need an audio interface for my condenser microphone? because when I record my voice on a separate track there's still an instrumental music on it, how to get rid of that? I want to record only my voice separated with the music.
Hi; Greetings; I need to import and sync several audio tracks from different recorders into a single file. Does Audacity have a "sync" feature? Plural Eyes is great, except that it requires a video timeline and doesn't work on audio only tracks... TY
using a hand held voice recorder from Wal Mart called Icd Px333.1st use a 3.5mm 1/8 male to 2 rca stereo phono audio speaker cable.2nd 2 Rca female jack y splitter 3.5mm adapter.3rd a 3-pin xlr female to rca female jack audio adater.I use mic in symbol.Use the usb to transfer the files to the pc.It will show two different tracks but its really 1 track or connected.I need to make 1 track doing it that way to master my voice ? And I'ma try moving further away from the mic and see what happens Thanks ?
7 years later, this video helps me out
Indeed
sadly you are learning it the bad and overcomplicated way
one example to listen to 1 track just click solo instead of individually muting the other tracks...

You can also hit "Solo", which automatically mutes out every other track that doesn't have "Solo" selected.
Best and easy way to mak understand good one😊

Is there a way to fine tune the fade in/out. Like linear or exponential?
Help! Whenever i drag my tracks with the shift tool, everything moves all at once even if i want it to move one track only
same issue even if I make it solo
@@bhavinharish2884
Double click the section of audio you want to move until the entire 'clip' is surrounded by yellow, the use the time shift tool on the yellow surrounded clip you want to move.
