This is why at 68 years old 100% disabled, I'm now raising my four teenage grandkids for the past 3 years, no father. Their moms on dope. She gave her kids up for dope, I'm sorry ass men like this. I couldn't fathom how this could happen. All I know is how to be a father and a husband of 45 years, I'm a grandfather but I'm the only man who's been in their life with a positive influence. I feel what you are saying, I and my husband are doing the very best we can taking care of 6 of our grandchildren, we have 13 all together ❤ it's hard but we are doing well so far, you can't just give up on kids; Even though our children do sometimes and they were raised a lot better than this. This is true that may have been the case years ago, but there are so many inmates who have killed children. They keep them all in the same pod. They’re all like-minded and understand each other. They blame their upbringing they blame drugs. They blame the system, but they stick together what they don’t do is put these SOB’s in general population.
Every county needs a sheriff like THIS.
One that does frequent photo ops and video press conferences? He's not any different from any other Sheriff other than that.
Not likely, I’ve met this sheriff once in person he’s not friendly to say the least he jumped my parents once when me and my sister where little. We all went out in a spot that was acceptable by law to watch the fireworks one night and this sheriff and a few of his buddies confronted us and told us we had to leave my parents told him why we aren’t breaking the law we are just sitting here watching the fireworks with our kids. And this sheriff in a stern voice asked my father “ is there gonna be a problem, because if there is your getting arrested and going to jail. Needless to say they ruined our family night and in situations like this looks can be very deceiving

I raised my 4 children myself, I didn't bring no men around my kids.. not even their father who was on drugs and doing God knows what else, my last child graduated in 2019 and moved out in 2021..32 years raising my children myself..I kept them safe

My grand daughter at 4 months old was almost killed by her mothers boy friend 26 years ago, she was in the hospital for 6 weeks, with 8 skull fractures. Mom went to prison for 4 years, her boyfriend never made it out. Our son with our help raised her, she just turned 27. Side note: When we were at the hospital, the doctor came out and explained to us what had happened to our grand daughter and the police had been called, my wife just calmly walked over to boy friend and just kicked this dude in the nuts so hard he simply dropped to the floor, while on the floor she kicked him in the nuts again. Does anyone remember those hard pointy toed calf high boots that lasted forever? When the cops came he was easy to find, he had been admitted to the hospital, they didn't arrest her.....to this day i still think they were afraid to and approved of it. You don't make an Irish/German woman mad. She kept the boots.

This is why as a single mom I am terrified to date.
yes, single moms should never date for this reason. many boyfriends and step dads end up injuring or killing mom's offspring.
I didn't date till my daughter was older but I didn't bring the guy around. One i did date a bit and introduced her to. I asked her opinion and she said no don't like him so i let him go. The last one i dated was back in 2019 she loved him. I only left them alone once and it was to run to the store right at the end of the street while he was cooking. Came back in under 5 mins. She was still playing the video game he setup for her and he was still frying fish. He knew I'd off a man if they touched my kid and would do the jail time with a smile. We did get engaged and she approved it along with my best friend bc he asked them both first. We did end up splitting and she was more heartbroken than I was. She was crying saying i saw him like a dad, this isn't right. I told her I didn't break up with him he did with me. She's 18 now and still says one day she's going to go see his mom bc she still loves her.
The thing is dating is scary and its best to keep the guy away for a good while. Then ask your child what they think on meeting them once (of course not at your place but in public.) You never know what kind of guy they are and kinda can sometimes sense something you don't. Some moms ignore their kids and thats the problem. Your children are supposed to come first but some can't stand being alone. Its pathetic! I understand your fear I really do. You do what feels safe for you and your child. I stayed single for a long while for the same reason as you. Guy could be abusive or a chomo and you'd feel guilty bringing that type of person in your home around your child. So if you do date my advice is take it slow and don't bring your child around till you feel you know him a good bit. Like 8months or more. (Yeah i waited 10). Good luck momma from one single mom to another.

I would be too. The point is support. You date friends. You date people who've been approved by your very close family and friends. You don't introduce the man to your kids until your sure you want a life with him. And always date in public, around family and friends. Go slow. You need to be the one in control.
Years ago a friend said to me, regarding caring for babies , “Babies sometimes cry & test your very last nerve- ya step outside the door & take some deep breaths & calm yourself, call a friend or family, but ya don’t touch the baby, no matter how frustrated one gets”

Well that's a false statement, because I know for a FACT, the majority of parents actually DO lose their temper, even my mom, who's practically a saint, told me she lost her temper one time with me cause I was crying and crying, she hit me so hard I immediately stopped crying, and she said that the guilt almost ate her up and she never did it again.
We've ALLL lost our temper with crying babies.
But you have to have some control over yourself when in that situation.
They're irritating, so if you can't handle it, take a step back.
Otherwise you'll end up in the same situation this man has found himself in.
Children don't test anybody. Crying is the only language they can speak. A mother knows how to read that language. It's instinctual. Rest in peace little angel.

As a former Chicago police officer- I can tell u these cops all have ptsd and are prolly on medication

Their PTSD is compared to that of a combat veteran, most officers sign up to deal with bad boys and girls, very seldom does this type of “Bad” come into play when the person is thinking of becoming an officer, then they run into a pos like this bastard and then they can’t get their mind off of it, stays with them for the rest of their lives, some even have shorter lives because of scenes just like this! Certainly affects everyone involved, not just the officers. EMS, Drs. Nurses, Coroner , funeral home personnel etc etc etc are all effected 😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏

Absolutely! I have 5 kids too, even two sets of twins so it was double the giggles and loves! It physically hurts me to think that sweet angel had to experience something so horrific! 😢😢 I just know she is in heaven now and had loved ones there waiting to greet her and love her like she deserves!

My son has (had now) a friend from school, who beat his 4 month old son to death a few of months ago. It's a sickening thing to have known someone for so long, thinking that they're a good person and then the devil reveals himself. Hopefully prison justice will handle these monsters.

We used to have a neighbor that was constantly screaming at his babies and sometimes I called the police because I felt like if he can cuss out a baby, he probably shouldn't have been around the children! However our 911 operator tried to make me feel like I was overreacting for being scared for those babies! 😢

My theory was he was playing his video game, I’ve read too many stories like this, he mentioned that when he got home he played his video game for a little while… many of these guys that don’t have a job sit at home playing games and it’s never for just a little while. Despicable, mom works 2 jobs.
I have five children. They are grown now but I remember when they were screaming or we and my wife were having a hard time we'd either tag team it or we'd put the baby in a safe place and take a 5 minute breather, recharge, and go again. The most important thing to remember is that babies only have crying to communicate. When you have grown children you find that the baby stage is the easiest! What a sick monster.

Him and his girlfriend have a young child together and it doesn't seem like either one of them wants to take care of her. The girlfriends mother whom they live with takes care of the child while he plays video games and smokes weed! The girlfriend works at one of those cheap pizza joints, so I doubt she's earning big bucks! It amazes how alot of these younger folks have no sense of responsibility. Seems like they're only interested in playing video games, smoking skunky weed and procreating! Doesn't seem like they were raised properly! They really should not be making babies, when they can't even take care of themselves. These are not young adults, they're like late 20's early 30's!

I know for a FACT, the majority of parents actually DO lose their temper, even my mom, who's practically a saint, told me she lost her temper one time with me cause I was crying and crying, she hit me so hard I immediately stopped crying, and she said that the guilt almost ate her up and she never did it again.
We've ALLL lost our temper with crying babies.
But you have to have some control over yourself when in that situation.
They're irritating, so if you can't handle it, take a step back.
Otherwise you'll end up in the same situation this man has found himself in.

I love children so much that I started teaching toddlers at Sunday school from the time I was in seventh grade. After having my daughter I went to work at a daycare center. My daughter was just a baby so I took her to a woman for care while I worked. This woman was recommended by the state as a safe care provider who also took in foster children. Then I get a call from the hospital at my workplace telling me my daughter was brought in with severe head injury. When I arrived at the hospital I was not allowed to see my daughter instead I was being questioned about her injuries in accusatory manner.
The woman had told them my daughter was injured when I dropped her off at her house that morning. Yet the hospital didn’t receive her till late afternoon. The woman lied and when the hospital questioned the care provider again she said her 3 year old foster son had hit my daughter with a child’s stool. Again she was lying.and they finally let me see my baby girl. I never took my child back to her and the innocent 3 year old was allowed to stay in her care. You can’t trust anyone on the word of another especially cps

Dad was a cop for almost 25 years. Later in his career he was an investigator for some very horrific stuff. He told me that sometimes they joke among themselves to relieve the tension. Jokes about the particular bad things they saw. I mean, jokes you and I might find distasteful, but I understand where he was coming from.

My husband broke a rib several years ago.. He’s a tough guy. But that broken rib caused him a lot of pain. I can’t imagine the pain that poor baby felt with 10 broken ribs., plus all of the other injuries. It must have been excruciating. The father is an animal

I've seen and heard this sheriff before on another case. I'm not from Florida so it must have been a big case, perhaps The Gabby Petito case? But the thing is he's just wonderful. He actually speaks to the public the way you want to be spoken to. He Informs and he does it so naturally and so personally and so humanely.
When he was talking about how does God allow him to breathe air, now that is certainly outside of what maybe customary or recommended for a sheriff to opinion but it is 100% human. I have the most total respect and awe over officers like this gentleman who see the absolute worst in humanity and yet still feel the pain the Injustice and the agony of those in front of them who suddenly go from some sort of normalcy to 100% devastation and suffering through the actions of another so-called human being or human beings.

What often happens is young men are not emotionally equipped to deal with a fussing or even screaming baby. I'm not excusing what he did, but in order to solve future problems, past ones must be identified. The baby becomes fussy, he tends to it. Then it starts screaming, and yes babies can scream loud . He then panics and yes, starts hitting the baby to get it to be quiet.
I'm not saying this is how things escalated, but the officer does not know either.
I doubt the guy just decided he was going to beat his 4 month old daughter to death out of the blue. It does not mean he should not be charged to the max either.

The chances of being born are astronomical. To think that this baby girl made it through gestation and delivery presumably healthy, just to be savagely beaten to death by her own father... Jesus Christ. What the hell is wrong with people? He looks like a loser. He sounds like a loser. Beating his infant daughter to death confirms that he is a loser. His daughter's mother having to work two jobs because this man is obviously useless, and he just wanted to play his video games and couldn't take care of or handle his own baby.
He's trying to play crazy hoping for protective custody and a plea deal. I am in no way blaming or shaming this poor mother, but it is apparent that a lot of men cannot handle a crying baby. You can't trust anyone around your babies, and how sick and sad that this mistrust can't be dismissed due to paternal biological parent.
He is a COWARD.

@@sandrabarrie84you know, our minds are malleable and sometimes we see what we want to see. it doesn't mean someone isn't smart or good. we are all capable of being deceived, especially if we're being abused. abuse never stops at the physical. they make you believe what they want you to believe.
that being said, i _do_ find it _very_ hard to believe there were no instances of domestic violence before this. i'll be keeping an eye out for the rest of the investigation.
Mother sure didn't pick a father well, he sounds like an overgrown child, probably never wanted a child, mother got to pick them better. Why was mom working 2 jobs with a baby? don't think she was up to responsibility, father sure wasn't. Real sad for that baby girl.
What’s sad is that this publicity and prosecution is not the norm. Babies are beaten and killed every day and the parents are never charged, in fact they often profit on the attention and the funds from charity accounts after the death. As a pediatric nurse who has seen more than enough of the babies who haven’t had a press conference in their honor- we have to do better as a nation.
