Thank you soooo much on behalf of carnivorous plants newbies. There are so many videos that show the cutting and putting in water part but with no updates. Yours shows exactly what happens over time and what the propagation should look like when potting. I had no idea what leaf cuttings were supposed to turn into until after i saw your video. Before i came to your channel, i watched six different videos that only showed the beginning process and no result 😢 . So thank you very much 😊😊😊😊

great video, good that you show the progress of the plants over the months, astonishing how fast they grow. Sometimes I put cutted leaves in peat and they grow too, but I guess water is even better.

if you put a single plant in a large pot, it will propagate on its own like crazy, in less than 2 years I had a hedge of Binata multifida

Once you have a mature plant another great way to propagate them is propagating them from flowerstalk cuttings, I use to do that but now I have so many binata, multifida, dichotoma & filiformis sundews they literary grow like weeds at my house.

I tried with flower stalk cuttings but it never grows.

@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants The secret is planting them up in LFS or live sphagnum moss & grow them outside, I grow all my sundews, cephalotus, venus flyteaps outside in full sun outside, I started my huge collection of filiformis with the water method like you then I just started doing the flowerstalk cutting method, you get mature plants a lot quicker.

@@jasongamman6666 thanks for the tip. Yes I have all my VFTs outside but I’ve had better luck propagating with leaf pulling and my sundews I propagate using leaf cuttings. I should try it again in the spring.

Great video! Could you care to explain a bit more about the fertilizer? I’ve read that we should not fertilize droseras in general, but I’m willing to try it if it’s really beneficial. May droseras are kind of sickly right now and I need something to boost their growth.

Thanks. I’ve gave some fertilizer to some of my Capensis from seed and some I did not fertilized where I noticed it had slower growth. I try to give them fertilizer once is month very little but sometimes I forget.

Ok. But do you fertilize the roots or the leaves? What about the concentration?

hi , Ahoj I'm new to the carnivorous plant scene help. I recently bought sundew seeds on Amazon. Drosera seeds 100 seeds (Mix)
1.) Do filter jugs make sense?
2.) Is sundew from a filter jug healthy?
3.)What should you pay attention to when buying a filter jug?
    4) Which is better Dafi or BRITA?
    5) I was told that boiled and then cooled water is good for sundews. Can anyone confirm this?
    6) Should we hand feed them at some point? as the domes are closed at the seedling stage to maintain humidity, preventing insects from entering.
7._Should we open the dome every few days to get some fresh air?
8.)I would like to, I thought. catching rainwater. ?
9.) I wish, I thought. catching snow water?
sorry if my english is not good 🙁
