Good idea to handle silverfish
Thanks
looks really great, wonderful dewy :)
Thank you !
Love a binata, I got one 5months ago and now I got several and it won't stop flowering but I love it
Yes binata is a great one to have!
Charles Darwin said so
nice, wonderful plant :)
Thank you
Venus flytrap minecraft leak
How do you take your timelapses?
I use atli eon cam and my old phone
How old is the binata, I got one a while back and it’s flowering like 3 times versus a lot of dewy leaves
Around July 25 2021. I have a video unboxing it. It should only flower in the spring because it goes dormant in the winter.
I got mine just 10 days ago… see how it does… under LED light…
Good luck
looks great -very dewy :)
Thanks yes right now they are looking great. Binatas are rising! Spring!
they look great, wonderful colors
Thanks
Nice❤
Thanks
Promo SM 😁
nice timelapse and a wonderful red color your venusta has :) Do you sometimes also see that the D.venusta dies after flowering but grows back from the roots?
Thanks. I did notice and it is constantly flowering. I also planted a flower stalk from it.
How did you repot mine is only in a 2inch pot and feel like they are going to quickly outgrow this ? I hear the roots don't like to be disturbed 😐 😒 I only have 4 in their and don't see roots out the bottom but its only filled halfway with soil, help 😢😊 please.
Have some peat moss and perlite in a 4-6 in pot. Then try to place all of it in the pot. Even if the roots are disturbed it should be fine. Important thing is to make sure roots don’t break off while repotting.
@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants thank you 😊
@@mandyvieni331 you’re welcome
wow,great collection :)
Thank you very much.
Don't let addictions trap you.
very nice reaction from the nidiformis. Also a sundew I like very much.
Thank you
Awesome specimen ❤ Thanks for sharing!
Welcome! Thanks for watching LostCause187
very nice red plant, I like the red capensis a lot, but you need quite strong light to keep them red.I've had the same plant but during winter it died above ground,so I hope that it will grow again from the roots.
Yes I really like it. Hopefully it does grow back.
nice, nidiformis is also a wonderful sundew.
Buen vídeo ❤
Gracias!
wonderful plant and so many little ones :) What do you do with all these pots?
Trying to make more room for them. I have more to do. I also repotted and divided some VFTs yesterday.
I think I have this growing in my red dragon pot is it going to be okay I se e at least 6 off shoots not sure if it's one plant or multiple. Which form is this ?
I haven’t gotten a sticker from them even tho I’ve ordered a ton of times
Oh man hopefully next time.
wow they really grow good in your setup :) Did you ever try to cut the stem when it is so large and put it in new soil/sphagnum? Not a leaf but the stem! I wonder if this might work.
I have not I just tossed it. Yes that could work but I never really had good luck with that. I planted some stems and they don’t grow so I stopped using that method.
nice timelapse, I never fed bloodworms, the sundew seems to like it ;)
I always use bloodworms. One little container last a long time.
I’m about to do the same so fun
Yup!
nice plants,I like the these sundews because they are quite easy to grow. Sometimes my venusta dies after flowering but usually it will return from the roots, but not always. How much did you pay? They are not so expensive I think. Here I have to pay like 7-10 Euro for one of these.
Thanks. I paid 19.99 usd plus tax for each one. Total about $46.00 usd off Amazon with free shipping. Yes I tell myself do some leaf cuttings and if I let it flower I must feed it well.
Just treated both my Drosera Filliformus California sunset and D. Filliformus NJ . Tested them with a sulfer based Funguside. Thank you for posting this . Going to add Drosera Filliformus Florida to my collection today . Although 55 dollars is a lot but worth it . Took leave cuttings of both before they went dormant. Got great strikes . Always good to take back up cuttings of these .
You’re welcome. Yes for sure
looks wonderful, beautiful color :)
Thank you. One side of the plant received less light so some are not so red.
very nice plants, they look great :) I like prolifera a lot, they have very unique leaves.
Yes such a nice looking plant.
Very nice ! Thank you
Thank you so much
@@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants It's time to repot my little baby 😁 ! Peace up on you.
@@adrianabonitaaziz same!
very nice latifolia, do you keep it at the same temperature all year or in winter a bit cooler?
Thanks. I keep it very close to the window and the curtains cover the plants. Also I never turn on the heat or air conditioning in that part of my house. So in the summer it’s hot and colder in the winter.
wonderful plant, nice timelapse, I like how they close the leaf so completely :)
Yes I like that too.
Very cool thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome and thanks for watching
yeah mine looks like that, too. Always amazing how they resurrect in spring again :)
that looks really impressive, wonderful plant. The macrantha grows always very good :) also mine is quite big now.
Thanks yes it’s that time for tuberous species. That’s good.
nice timelapses, the sundew looks great :)
Thanks
that’s gotta be the least efficient harvest method i fw it though
If you are planning on cutting that flower off, I wouldn't recommend it. Because 1.sure it takes a lot of energy and nutrients but you can easily gain that back by a bunch of flies or bugs. 2. It takes 5 years just to get to flower and cutting it off just makes it never be able to flower again 3. It's beautiful 4. You pretty much got rid of it's whole purpose (as a plant) 5. You can get more seeds
Thanks for the tip. I recently did an 1 year update on this one.
Great content. What is the difference between cross teeth and long red fingers? Which do you like the best?
Thanks. Hard to choose but I like long red fingers better because more growth points occur to divide and repot. Also look nice and red traps throughout the year. Cross teeth has no new growth points coming out, but it does seem to have longer teeth throughout the year and more traps.
One thing about this cultivar people should remember is that they completely disappear below the surface of the soil in winter. Other Venus Fly Traps at least have some traps above the soil in winter, but in my experience Akai Ryu disappears during dormancy until spring.
Your collection is awesome. If you dont mind me asking , how many VFT cultivars do you have? If you would rather not answer I respectfully retract my question😂
Thanks. About 17 different types of cultivars and a bunch of typical VFTs. I still want more though.
@@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants I'm new to the hobby but I know how addictive it is.. I am in my first dormancy and I am still picking up plants every chance I get... if I was smart I would get the collection I have through winter...I'm not smart 🤣
@@LostCause187 lol 😂
Beautiful cultivar
Thank you. Yes I really like this one.
Once you have a mature plant another great way to propagate them is propagating them from flowerstalk cuttings, I use to do that but now I have so many binata, multifida, dichotoma & filiformis sundews they literary grow like weeds at my house.
I tried with flower stalk cuttings but it never grows.
@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants The secret is planting them up in LFS or live sphagnum moss & grow them outside, I grow all my sundews, cephalotus, venus flyteaps outside in full sun outside, I started my huge collection of filiformis with the water method like you then I just started doing the flowerstalk cutting method, you get mature plants a lot quicker.
@@jasongamman6666 thanks for the tip. Yes I have all my VFTs outside but I’ve had better luck propagating with leaf pulling and my sundews I propagate using leaf cuttings. I should try it again in the spring.
How do your flytraps get huge trap with small leaves? :)
It’s mainly between late spring to early fall when they are there largest. Right now it’s going dormant and has small leaves.
@@Mike100istCarnivorousPlants thanks so much!
Fly trap, not a hand fed worm trap!
Sometimes, indoor growers have to feed them to keep them living. Every true VFT grower has done it.
hi , Ahoj I'm new to the carnivorous plant scene help. I recently bought sundew seeds on Amazon. Drosera seeds 100 seeds (Mix) 1.) Do filter jugs make sense? 2.) Is sundew from a filter jug healthy? 3.)What should you pay attention to when buying a filter jug? 4) Which is better Dafi or BRITA? 5) I was told that boiled and then cooled water is good for sundews. Can anyone confirm this? 6) Should we hand feed them at some point? as the domes are closed at the seedling stage to maintain humidity, preventing insects from entering. 7._Should we open the dome every few days to get some fresh air? 8.)I would like to, I thought. catching rainwater. ? 9.) I wish, I thought. catching snow water? sorry if my english is not good 🙁
Only rain water distilled or reverse osmosis water for carnivorous plants
nice plant, looks very weird with the fused spikes ;)
Thanks
i just bought a red dragon and still waiting for delivery ... is it usually the case for red dragons to lose all there top growth in winter as oppose to a typical? i do fridge dormancy and will receive plant while still in dormancy so it will go right in fridge with my typicals for winter ... i just wondered cuz my typicals i had for 5+ yrs and they do loose a few traps in winter but they never ever lost everything in winter but i know the write up i read for red dragons made it sound as tho they really do loose almost everything in winter and your kinda backing up that same fact ...
I have all my VFTs outside in the same place. Red dragon and red piranha die completely the rest have a few still.
Beautiful specimens, thank you for sharing the time lapse it gives me an idea of what I can expect from my fuse tooth next year
Thanks glad this helps.
