Congrats. Traded my 2011 323i for this model, and its like a tank in 4 ft of fresh snow here in Calgary. So very happy with this little sav. Oh we go to mountains with my German shepherd and wife, and never short of fun and cargo area.
By the looks of the gear indicator on the dash, it already has a trans flash. Usually in Drive, it only shows "D" not "D1, D2, etc". Just did a quick search through your uploads. Any more videos on this? Ever do any mods? I've got a handful on my 35i.
I have this car. MHD tune will get you a decent hp & fuel economy gains. For the intake, just get a high flow one that uses your current intake box. Upgraded intercooler & charge pipe after that. I want to upgrade the turbo, but it's a few thousand.
+My WRX Channel welcome to the X1 family. I bought mine in january of this year. This is my third BMW. This car is badass for its size and handling. The performance is impressive for this car. I also have the N55 twin scroll turbo 35i. i went for the x line version because it sits a little higher than the M sport. The cornering on this car is tight and effortless. I run through corners doing 80-95MPH with no problem. These cars are very easy to maintain. My last car was a 2011 3 series coupe with the N54 and I found that not as user friendly when it comes to maintenance as this. I haven't had to do anything at all to it since. Most reviews on the web and owners I spoke to say all you have to do is oil changes and thats it. I was thinking of modding mine but I am not sure If its even worth it. The performance I get now Is enough for me. Maybe you can inspire me. I was thinking of doing the DINAN tune.
I came from a 500 AWD STI (Forged block, 20g and E85, etc) to an X1. Wasnt entirely my choice, if Subaru continued the hatchback this post wouldnt exist. There are a ton of mods for the N55, honestly IMO it doesnt need much. If you do anything, I would recommend the changing the suspension to Bilstein B12's and getting a DINAN Tune. Both of those mods really wake the car up, both handling and throttle response.
Think I bought your old car(X1)! Did you sell it to someone in Oregon in July 2018 with 107k on it? It would be cool if it was your car, and since I bought it at auction I would love to know more about it, especially why you decided to get rid of it.
I basically did the same thing. Sold Crosstrek and got an X3 35i and yes it is way more of a car. Was looking at getting the Forester XT and modding it, but there is way more potential with the N55. I am planning on changing the charge pipe, down pipe, intercooler then MHD, xHD and xDelete (when it becomes available for F-series) It will be a 400hp RWD car. Congrats at joining the BMW club. (I still love Subies though)
@@dannymartinez8522 X-Delete is an app for your phone that can open the clutch on the center diff to make it RWD. You can also adjust different 'modes' for your center diff. Check it out.
My 2015 WRX 2.0DIT PROTUNED use to burn a quart every 1000 miles too :/. I think it needed rings. I ditched that car for the same reason. Good luck with the new car!
They're great until you do any maintenance at the dealership. My coworker dumps between $750-$2000 every 15,000miles for service. But if you plan on doing it yourself, good luck 🤣🤣🤣 they're not user friendly.
Negetive, super easy to work on X1s bcoz of small engine and xtra room in the engine bay, i changed my coolant pipes , sturts, spark plugs ,engine oil with no effort.
if you take care of it, the N55 is actually quite reliable - Love these!
Welcome to the BMW fam, mod it for sure. We are now N55 brothers. Funny how my M2 has the same engine as your X1.

Yes you should mod it.

Maintenance might suck ass down the road but they're seriously good cars
I've had this car for 6 years & haven't needed a single repair, aside from one that I caused with a large amount of water spilled in the trunk.
Down pipe + charge pipe + jb4 = perfect and reliable.
Hey do i need a tune (JB4 or MHD) with the downpipe? What happens if I just put a catless downpipe - check engine light?? Thanks
@@pocketaces777 Yes. Running on just the downpipe wouldn’t increase performance just make the car louder and throw check engine lights.

The best decision. x1 35i 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They come in rwd also? 🤔Niceee

@@brettdyrland7624 wow that's a very cool feature. Never in my mind something like that could be done. I
Do you still have it and if so how is it? I just purchased a 2013 X1 xDrive35i with only 45k miles and I am so excited!
Yes, you should mod.
Pitties, a STI and More how you doing after the accident man. New build?

Hell yeah! Mod it bro!
Make more videos of it! And heck yeah mod it dude!
N54 in the 335!! Great vid
Definitely an upgrade man!
That thing is badass!

your friend has a lemon lol, I worked at BMW and have owned one. I did not spend 2k every 15k miles, and i drove my car to about 130k

@@hemanR-one I think your talking about the 4cyl not the 6 like in this video
@@dannymartinez8522 oops, yes talking about my 4 cylinder.
Why didn’t you go with a forester xt? Interested in what you do with it regardless ✌🏽
The Forester is more expensive, less comfortable, less features, less luxury, slower. The X1 M-sport is way more fun to drive.
use shell rotella t6 and will cut burning or drop half or less
Updates?
Started your autocross season yet??
I dig it bro!!
Nice bro 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I really want one now lol
That is the M package. There’s no such thing as M sport model
I have a 2014 e84 with the m sport option. Its the highest model for either engine.
The car that doesn't exist. X1s with N55 were only sold in the USA.
yes and i have one, goes like a bat out of hell......35i engine
