Ryan i’m in the process of building a th400. On the forward drum do you remove the seal? I’m not talking about the lip seals on the piston. I’m assuming removing the seal will help fill the piston faster ? Thanks
You can leave the drum center seal out. Forward piston is applied in all forward gears, so once it's applied it's holding. The seal just separates 2 chambers to allow a softer apply. One side fills, then it bleeds over to the other side for full apply force. Supposed to just not hammer it into 1st real hard. I've left them out and didn't think it was too bad, but would be individual preference.
Building my first th400 now. Always enjoy your videos brother. I’m catching up on the ones I haven’t seen yet. Thanks for sharing!!
That's a real sickening feeling when you think the wrench is about to click but it just gives! Been there, done that! Nice looking set up!
Great vid as always! Using the same clutches/steels and brake in my th400. Works like a champ!
Nice! Good to hear.
I’m ready to see these new turbos light off and where they start making boost!

Leaving the seal off the drum do you need to drill a 1/16 hole in it to
Nice build - did you have to put any of the original check balls back in the transmission before installing the valve body?
No. Just the ones that come with instructions for kit.
experienced man knows when strippy bolt is about to happen and stops
Don’t you need the forward drum lip seal or are you supposed to leave it out like the direct drum
How the trans holding up - what hp/tq rating do you think the trans is built to?
Do you put a link from the valve body thanks good lection ..
No gaskets for the valve body? That seems weird. Are you sure you're not supposed to just use the ones from the rebuild kit?
No gaskets.
My torque wrench was a 3/8 butterfly impact
can you do a z31 build? they are cool af and pretty light
What happened to the check balls that go in the valve body?
This valve body only requires one...
@@BlaserBuilds Thanks
Back in the day a rubber kit was like 20 dollars. Of course full build kit was $100.00
