This is good. But I love how the older version is more raw.. You feel the heartbreak through the screen, literally. And the emotion in his voice, as he remembers her presence makes me tear up. Then you have the distant background noise from the park late at night, it gives me peaceful vibes. The old version cannot be better than it already is.

The back story for this song really reminds me so much of a girl I’ve liked for nearly a year and I have to let go. First time I head this song was when I was 11 and now I'm turning 16 in less than 3 days now. This song was the first song I ever cried while listening to it. Even though I never went through a heart break myself the way he sang it made me feel like I had.

This song is so underappreciated
I used to listen to this song for hours on end when I was in middle school and had just discovered the 1975. I was so in love with it and matty's voice and the emotion in it, it made me feel like I had experienced true love when at that point I never had. I tried to get my friends to listen to it but they didn't like his voice cracks or how slow it was and I was so sad no one could see the beauty of it. I'm in college now and I still put this on repeat sometimes and get hit with a huge wave of nostalgia. this band changed my life and my music taste forever.

I'm sorry that you guys lost your secret song. I've seen more than a few of you guys mention this with crying emojis. But, it's not all bad. From a new comer who was introduced to The 1975 abt a year ago, it would have taken me such a long time to start going through song by song until i stumbled on this one. Trust me, I needed to hear this tonight. I just want to personally thank you guys, yes all of you, for sharing your secret song with us noobs.
Quite frankly I think that everyone NEEDS to hear this. I'm an OG, this has always been my favorite from them. I believe that everyone should hear the most beautiful song in the world and I'm so happy that they finally did an actual studio version.
I've listened to them for almost 3 years now but it was only a week or two before this acoustic came out that I heard 102 for the first time. Honestly I'm glad more new fans will hear it now. I'm salty I hadn't heard it earlier bc it's now one of my all time favourites :'))

I thought I couldn't do it and cried myself thinking I might fail and disappointed my parents.Today I listened to this song while on my way back home from work. Wondering how far life has got me and things will eventually pass. What matters today wont matter tomorrow. Life goes on ... Since I first saw the band in 2019, nothing was the same. I will always return to this band for comfort. You will never understand this until you are really into them (which I said to many people). I met this girl freshman year of college. We instantly hit it off and became friends. All four years we ran in different circles but remained daily gym partners and each other’s emotional support as we dated other people. I realized Over Christmas that I’d developed feelings for her and flat out fallen and planned to talk it out but by the time life slowed down enough to talk to her Covid shut down classes and I haven’t seen her since spring break. We graduated and she’s gone back home and I’m just here with this song and there’s always been something oddly comforting about the honesty here. Because we’ve all been in that situation that Matty has and it’s just so raw and genuine. You can’t top it.
