All they needed really was a song writer. The songs they have, I love. Meatloaf had the songs written for him for Bat out of Hell. Prince wrote songs for various other artists. If this band had of had a few songs written by someone it would have pushed them to the top. Not pooping on their own songs, I love them.
Totally underrated and they never got the airplay the deserved. I could never understand some of the terrible bands that were more successful during the 89-91 era, that put out that corporate crap.
@@mikewazowski350 I could never understand how somebody who liked GnR but didnt like them or know them.. These guys are still out touring and I go everytime!
There is now a new wave of bands that carry the 80's rock scene. Check out: Crazy Lixx, Crashdiet, Dynazty, Bulletrain, Maverick, H.e.a.t, Jettblack, Niterain, Santa Cruz, Reckless Love, Vanity Blvd, Hell in the Club, Eclipse, Ammunition, Hardcore Superstar, Lynam, Midnight Sin, Million $ Reload, Sister Sin, The Unripes, Black Rain, The Treatment Just to name a few. The good times are back.
***** Yes I don't blame you wanting to move there, I would too. Sweden is the main contributor that has kicked off the new wave of bands & seem to be producing these bands at a fast rate as there are so many. Crashdiet & Hardcore Superstar are the 2 main bands in Sweden that were first hitting the 80's Scene again obviously apart from Europe & then it just went crazy from then on & along came Crazy Lixx. I never thought this type of music died (no thanks to grunge) as it was only in the background ready to re - emerge & explode again. The music scene these days is absolute dire & keeps on turning out crap pop music if you can call it music but let's hope these bands can now make it big & get back where they should belong.
Gina Burdick this is a great band and still sound good to this day. The only problem with xm radio is they played the same songs day/night for 2 weeks and I just use Apple Music now
As long as I've been teaching, this song is my tradition to play on the last work day of the school year once my grades are put in and my classroom is packed up for the summer. "Ain't no reason to wait for the weekend, 'cause every day is Saturday night!"
Thanx! I didn't know there even was a video for this song! I'm a 20 year USAF vet who just retired and this is my theme song. "'Ain't no reason to wait for the weekend 'cause every night is Saturday night!"
Wish this band got more of its due. They had such an authentic rock sound when compared to the rest of the ilk of that era. Plus Brian Baker...how can you go wrong? Man, amazing how many bands have a hardcore pedigree. Rock on, fellas.
Pretty cool song. I thought these guys only had one album, but since this wasn't on it then there must be another. I'll have to find it. These guys are an excellent band.
Thanks so much do all the great feedback! We got a note saying that the video isn't available for mobile devices. Were sorry about that...if you search around you can find the mobile version.
I gru up on Blooze! It was like a theme song back then. A Fucking Mazing that I survived them yeers. Junkyard was big, at least in my drunken mind. Thanks Forever!
Whoa! This is what you guys looked like?! Saw you at the Bottom of the Hill last night in SF (Feb 7, 2020)! I sensed more of a skate/punk/rock vibe which is totally rad! Felt their energy! So fun! I say this with no disrespect but I prefer you guys over the headliner. Following these guys on Spotify!
David said in an interview, he hated this video, cause he felt they were selling out and joining the "game" that record produces wanted. He said Geffen gave them all 500 bucks to go get "nice" clothes for this video. He said this image was not who we were or what we were about. Which is true. But still a great song and album
GREAT BAND...their first cd smokes this one..but this ones pretty good..this video lacks the sleaziness of their previous videos..the singer always reminded me of vince neil for some reason..i know alot of hardcore junkyard fans who disowned them when this song/video originally came out in 1991..i know it was alot more commercial..but it still rocked, i thought..haven't seen this in 18 years, thanx for posting!
I'd go see these guys before GNR these days. Downloaded "High Water" last year and I'm still playing it 2 or 3 x's week in the car. For my taste, there's really not much in the way of any "filler" on any of their albums. I generally love all they've put out. I'm under the impression the band kinda shrugs of this song as it just being "ok", but it really is a gem! I hope Junkyard keeps at it!
Huge Kix fan here and I don't hear that comparison at all. I would say it sounds more Skynard than Kix any day. This is just hands down kick ass blues based rock. My old band used to cover Hollywood and I still spin Junkyard music all the time. One of my favorite bands from that era.
Having read some comments its pretty sad how ppl let the powers that be dictate so much if their life. Now this is a good song but damn ppl its off an album that every song is better than the last. Extremely underrated band. One of a small percentage of greats thst you can press the play button and let it ride. The couple albums i bought were so genuine and robust all the way through. Rock and roll Perfection!!!
god you guys were the best I worked at virgin publishing Dana, any way you were robbed damn it. Still some of my favorite songs and memories. You guys did it whether or not anyone knew.
Great fu#%&n' band. Saw them at the Paladium (I think) back in 19??...can't remember. Hung out with a couple of them after the show in one of those booths, checking out the girls that were dancing afterwards. Good times!
These guys should have been huge.
All they needed really was a song writer. The songs they have, I love. Meatloaf had the songs written for him for Bat out of Hell. Prince wrote songs for various other artists. If this band had of had a few songs written by someone it would have pushed them to the top. Not pooping on their own songs, I love them.
A great band, totally underrated, with many kick-ass songs. Love these guys.

Whenever Junkyard comes on Hair Nation, the volume goes to 10. Wish it went to 100.
Have you tried 11?
🤘

They've been around, just totally underrated.
One of my favorite bands to plug in my guitar and just rock out with....30 years later & I'm STILL rocking with Junkyard
Two axes working together is always impressive
Why haven't I ever heard of these guys! They rock! Ever since I got XM I love Hair Nation!
Same!
Same here.
Gina Burdick this is a great band and still sound good to this day. The only problem with xm radio is they played the same songs day/night for 2 weeks and I just use Apple Music now
I would like to cover some Junkyard songs in my band. Heck yeah they rock. Jazzy blues swing rock country.
Two other bands from this time period that didn't get enough play you should check out are "The Four Horsemen" and "Little Caesar".
As long as I've been teaching, this song is my tradition to play on the last work day of the school year once my grades are put in and my classroom is packed up for the summer. "Ain't no reason to wait for the weekend, 'cause every day is Saturday night!"

Gimme some Junkyard and Kix, and I'm a happy fella!
I'd add Child's Play to that list.
Walt Farozic That was a great band too!
80’s Hair Metal Baby 🤟

These guys are an excellent band.
Oh the 80's!! They don't make music like they used to
This has to be the most played song on Hair Nation on serious XM. My dad always turns it up loud when this comes on
Really! Most of the band has satellite radio and we've never heard it! Haha. Glad your Dad likes it!
oh they play it,, and i crank it too!!
I hear it quite frequently on siriusxm. love it
Your dad is right.
Man, I play that station a lot, and I never hear it!
You guys rocked, Patrick! Sixes, Sevens, and Nines was a killer disc.

This song jams, love it
Loved playing this in my old band! Great song to rock out to, we used to open our shows with this one. Great band!
They were great live in 89. They were really nice guys which I suppose is a death sentence for rock guys.
Every day is Saturday night! Love it.
Definitely get,s cranked when i,m on the controls.love that guitar.
These guys never get old with time.
I've loved this song since the first time I heard it 20 years ago :D

One of the last great rock bands of the 80s. These guys and four horseman just came out at the wrong time.
Muzingo, I love the new album! "Wallet" is my fav song in 2017!!!
Best regards from Brazil!

Check out the guitar player (Brian Baker) band Dag Nasty. Punk Rawk!
Can I Say LP (Dischord Records) is a masterpiece; I bought it when it came out back in 1986; Brian knows how to play hardcore punk for sure!
Let’s not overlook Minor Threat
@@ronford1086 and now BR!
always loved these guys, thanks for posting.
One of these guys was actually in a punk band supposedly. They were in Dag Nasty I think it was.
i was listening to xm and this came on hair nation and it stuck in my mind the best song ever

way you were robbed damn it. Still some of my favorite songs and memories. You guys did it whether or not anyone knew.
Ah the carefree college days of youth during the zenith of rock music.
Is this what Vince Neil would sound like singing blues rock? I'm not knocking this, I dig it, I'm just curious...
Unfortunately lost in the shuffle of metal acts...they may not be street, but they were rugged and good.
Duane Brown they were primed to make it 90/91 but then grunge hit........
Great fu#%&n' band. Saw them at the Paladium (I think) back in 19??...can't remember. Hung out with a couple of them after the show in one of those booths, checking out the girls that were dancing afterwards. Good times!
