Shakin' Steve deserves a yearly paycheck for creating such a warm, feel-good song.
He is getting a paycheck.. it's called royalties, every time his song gets played on TV/radio which is often..
Unfortunately for shakin ,he did not write the song, so his royalties cheque will be around 5k a year . The writer, on the other hand, will likely get at least 100k a year.
The writer was an Edinburgh born man called Bob Heatlie.

Always my favourite😍 His music has meant the world to me. I first saw him on tv when I was 3 and I am now 43. I saw him live a few years ago in Tunbridge Wells and it was a fabulous evening. I can't thank him enough for making me happy through the music and the dance moves.

1977. I’ve seen him in concerts a few times over the years and loved his
concerts. But the last time I watch him his backing singer was carrying him and

Now THIS is live....a full orchestra with backing singers, and they're all wearing earpieces so they can take direction and keep to the tempo.
They are wearing "ear pieces" to hear them self, and the other musicians, not to "take direction".
