As an automiton only diver, the first thing I noticed when I landed, was absolute hate. And i appreciated it. It honestly felt nice to see an enemy who hates me just as much as I hate them. Dare I say, it was love at first sight
The Automations clearly seem to have some sort of self preservation instinct, flinching when shot at, taking cover from bullets, being effected by suppression, or the latest example of up armoring their walker to protect the operator better. There has to be something sentient about them.
The issue is none of those things can’t also be explained differently. Flinching as a result of the physical force of impact, taking cover to improve combat efficiency, armoring walker to also improve combat efficiency. Potentially they’re just programmed to kill as much as possible and that just so happens to coincide with living longer. It doesn’t necessarily mean their life is valuable to them, just that their life must continue to further their true goal.

They are future robots. Yet.... They look mostly humanoid? They miss quite often? They use iconography and symbols? THEY HAVE PILOTS in their bigger war machines? They have different military ranks as we see more ornate looking "commissars" leading more basic looking troops? It can only make sense if they are not ACTUALLY robots but WILLING or more disturbingly UNWILLING cyborgs. If we Listen closer to the distorted voices... Some of the patrols made of troopers and commissars are heard chanting... It also sound like they say hateful insults as they fight...(That is just speculation tho as the distortion is too severe) Not very compatible with soulless robots. Again the chanting implies they have morale... Those are the WILLING ones. Now to the disturbing part. The Berserkers especially sound like they are not willing to fight at all... I had doubts while playing myself. Then i found a post on reddit where someone slowed down their voice lines... This is what it sounds like. “Dear god, (unintelligible) The suffe-(Unintelligible)” “Help me, the suff- (unintelligible)” “Eternal suff-(glitch)er-(scream of pain)” It appears that the process to make an automaton requires human parts. They seem to retain part of their consciousness despite their brains being used to run death machines... It could be that some of the cyborgs of the previous war for Cyberstan were not reintegrated into the reeduca... I mean the freedom camps. The loss made them more radicalised and they have been planning and plotting the creation of this new sinister army.
Helldiver serving aboard the Octagon of Individual Merit, reporting: Instead of jamming the Automoton comms of an entire planet, using a large scale solution that the bots could solve with their own large scale solution (something they have proven to excel at), I propose hitting them on the battlefield level: The SH-32 Shield Generator Pack already has a very powerful, man portable power supply which can be produced at industrial scale. If we could develop a powerful, short range network jammer capable of cutting off individual Automoton units from the network, and deploy them as a new strategem backpack, it would greatly increase the effectiveness of our assault teams. A squad level solution also allows for much "dirtier" broad spectrum jamming, the sort that could interfere with strategem calls and radio comms but would also be much harder for the bots to find a workaround to. A planet or systemwide form of dirty jamming would cripple our own operations, but at the squad level and with short range, the pack could just be switched off when the team needs to call in strats or report their status, then switch it back on. Meanwhile, from the Automoton perspective, they now have a much more difficult question to answer: They would either need to accept a doctrinal change, and no longer allow troops to close into close range with Network Jammer Pack equipped teams (say goodbye to Berzerker Swarms, Flame Hulk Rushes, or mass bot drops directly onto our positions); or they would need to accept a logistical change, and provide substantial upgrades to the network technology present within every single individual unit deployed, which would increase the materiel production cost of every single Automoton unit by several orders of magnitude. It would also have the additional benefit of making it very difficult for frontline bot units to request reinforcements in a timely manner, making any breakthrough actions easier to exploit by ground teams. Tl;dr if we can figure out a squad level, short range jamming solution, such as with a new strategem backpack, we could force a complete doctrine change from the Automotons, or at the least make it easier to out attrition them.
@@toptiergaming6900 yes but that would block it from reciving orders from comand and make it harder to find wich given the heldiver "factions" that are forming id say its a bad idea
automatons dont use networks: when one bot detects an enemy, they have to _launch a flare_ to attract drop ships. when a gunship detects an enemy, no other bots investigate. if you take out every bot in a patrol fast enough, no other bots investigate.
SES Flame of Wrath here: A while ago, I experienced something that might potentially corroborate what your presentation spoke of. So, back on Vernen Wells during the Trolley Problem, me and my friend from the SES Song of Twilight encountered 2 Automaton Troopers who were not only impervious to all damage we threw at them, but were friendly towards us. They never fired a single shot nor did they call for more bots, choosing to instead follow us harmlessly. We decided to bring them aboard to see if we could glean any intel from them. While we made the trek to the extraction point, we speculated on why “Blip” and “T”, as my friend opted to name them, were this way. Perhaps some bots are capable of seeing the error of their ways and choose to seek a better life? Another friend of mine speculated that perhaps they were once Super Earth colonists who somehow fought through the code imbedded in their minds. Truth be told, we still have no idea why our two mechanical friends chose to renounce their brethren and embrace democracy. But your presentation might provide another piece to this puzzle, and vice versa. Blip and T have since been working faithfully with the maintenance crew, and seem to be enjoying their new lives. So, it’s possible that the bots may just be sentient, even if it’s a very crude imitation of it. Call me crazy if you please, but in our defence, the SEAF training manual never said anything on what to do with immortal enemy defectors.
@@klortikterra4423 I agree with this statement. It's not often we see it, but it's a welcome surprise. It's even better knowing we took them before the Automatons found out whatever makes them immortal.
S.E.S. Wings of Freedom here, I've encountered this scenario with comrades and figured that theese things are unable to change themselves from what they are, but they are able to in mind, and therefore, we should judge them by how they think rather than how they simply appear, so these robots of which seek to liberate the stars with us should be accepted as our own.
If we are to believe that the automaton are then a hive mind, it would seem to reason that they have to have some place for storage of the data needed to run them. Therefore, it's likely at cyberstan or some place beyond the current map. I believe it would be too taxing to fight our way there, so perhaps, to take single planets, similar to dark fluid deployment, we deploy communication jammers large scale. It seems to reason that if they can continue to summon bot drops while our strategems are jammed, they must have some sort of high priority signal backend we have yet to find. Therefore, coating a planet in signal jammers should theoretically cut access to that infinite loop.
BINGO! I was thinking of making the local star of the captured planet do a Coronal mass ejection, interrupting all solar communications long enough to perma-kill the automatons planet side. Show them they can after all still die, permanently.
Interesting! We could also do a nuclear electromagnetic pulse. If we make a couple strong enough ones and drop and detonate in a high enough altitude we could also do a brief cut of connection for all automatons planet side. Seeing how super destroyers are usually on all sides of the planet, it's possible to sync the drop to ensure the entire planet loses communications at once. Also, having the bombs explode in the air will also decrease the amount of nuclear fallout allowing super earth citizens to return to the post haste. Theoretically any of these options should save 1000s of Helldivers that could be used to fight other threats or to actually take their homeworld computer.
@creeperreaper0862 That's a very sound theory. Unless the bots have something prepared for such a scenario. This could all lead back to the Cobalt bomb. Radiation can disrupt radio signals pretty spectacularly. Perhaps the Cobalt bomb could be refit for EMP purposes 🤔
if we capture 2 automatons from diffrnet planets and figure out what direction the signals are going in we could wind the point that they meet, this should be the location they are contoled from, or at least a communications relay. also one potental, albeit poor method of disrupting communications could be somehow moving the gloom to the automation front, as it easily disrupts super earth communications im sure it could stop automation comms as well.
I do still wonder why they've blended so many humans. I don't think they're turning people into robots at all, but the bio-processor suggests that they're getting some resource by doing this. They certainly wouldn't have any qualms about doing it. To them its like smelting metal.
I've watched their processors at work. I cannot fathom what they need it for. 1 of 2 things stand out to me. The processors lead no where, and that they are necessary. It's a very real possibility, that this is a tool of plain horror, for the sake of horror. I'd like to know though... Because they are just flat out evil
If you notice one constant in Automaton design, there’s prominent red tubes throughout their bodies, I’d assume the bio processors make a meat slurry that automatons use as coolant or like hydraulic fluid. They also fizzle when they have their heads destroyed, most likely because of fluids coming into contact with circuitry. Not to mention the Helldiver gets covered in red blood when an automaton is killed, similar to the green bug guts.
@@matoro4140 Blood, as slick as oil... This could be accurate. We should still be mindful of the use of Petrol amongst automatons. But this will definitely be explored!
I dunno man, considering the amount of human corpses you can find at the bot factories, sometimes dissected on slabs, sometimes in cages or the like, there's gotta be a reason they need the bodies.
This video was made so beautifully. The narration. The music. The thought provoking questions. The editing. The commentary. And that excerpt. So amazing. Keep doing videos like this. They’re perfect. This is very mind opening. How you come up with all this is wonderful. Seriously I’m just so grateful this game and community that’s all satire , can provide such deep and even disturbing content when analyzed.
Heister from a bygone era here. We have a device called the pocket ECM, short for "Electronic CounterMeasure". It's mainly for disabling cameras, radios, and cellphones. But you guys have magnitudes more powerful machinery than us. You could create an ECM that jams the automaton connection! Even if for a short while. Imagine the panic, suddenly having the buzz of all of your friends and families voices suddenly cease. A short while where you can truly die. And if they do somehow manage to live to the end of the jam, they're going to report the terror, assuming that they are capable of such an emotion. Ooh! Gotta go! We're going to some blacksite by some company named "Muddywater" or whatever.
I have dived against bugs when ordered, but as a predominantly bot only diver, I can tell you that the bots have a different kind of hate to the bugs. Bugs hate everything but are pretty brainless. But the bots are different. No matter where you drop, they will swarm the location and tactically do their best to both kill you and protect their assets. I imagine it’s similar to old wars fought before the unification of super earth. The bots seem to be an adversary far worse than bug divers give them credit for.
The Main threat on bugs planets is usually 0 visibility and no radar, with many bugs not having visual indicators. You ever have 2 spore shrooms and 2 stalker nests on a planet with constant fog and no radar? Bots I can always see where the weakspot is. It's red.
SES Princess of Twilight here. The Automatons remind me of an ancient 21st century show called Battlestar Galactica. The robots in that show, called Cyclons, experimented on humans to create robots called Skin jobs to make flesh and blood robotics. Perhaps the Automatons are using colonists to create a skin job of their own to infiltrate Super Earth territory. Another worrisome thing is the amount of remains near bot fabricators. Many automaton units look like a human skull and spine installed into a combat unit and perhaps this answers why so many colonists are missing.
Cadet onboard SES Judge of War here: i appreciate your thoughtful briefing on the mental status and make-up of the automatons. I have, as of yet, only dropped on Terminid infested worlds. I appreciate your briefing none-the-less.
Another amazing video. One thing I find haunting about your use of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" as an example is that if we were to abbreviate "Automaton Menace" it would be "A.M."; Crazy coincidence!
@@internetuser320 Super earth NEVER employs the use of the T word. Every sentient being that is introduced to out way of life chooses to defect willingly after a short stay in our wonderful freedom camps. Reporting from the SES Song of Steel I had an extensive tour of Vernon Wells during Operation Trolley Problem, at the time I was a Field Technician who spent most of my government funding on Sentries and Guard Dogs. But there was one point where I had encountered an isolated incident during that Major Order, I had found a lone Automaton footsoldier that wouldn't attack me, the irony wasn't lost on me in the moment, a machine of war infected by pacifism. I hadn't come to this realization at the time, but I simply stood there for a few moments unsure what was happening, and shortly after I opened fire and went about my business. When I got back to my ship I had relayed the strange happening to the other crew members, but many dismissed me, saying maybe I spent so much time around robots and machinery that the automatons confused me for one of their own. But a singular thought keeps rolling through my head every time I think of that one in a million encounter. It's so difficult to see beyond those glowing red eyes of hatred, but for the briefest moment I did wonder if there was someone in there who didn't want to hurt me.
I think the automatons mental focus/health/stability depends on the individual. A trooper is similar to a normal human in mind, without fear or question. Devastater’s are similar. Berserkers and hulk berserkers are maniacs who only find joy in a kill streak. Hulks are protective to the smaller friends (to a degree). I’ve seen hulks see me start shooting at a squad of troopers, and then run in my firing lane giving them cover, before turning its guns on me. The tanks and striders are piloted by troopers, but more confident.
Helldiver from the SES Warrior Of Humankind, 1st Alliance Squadron. I and other divers in the regiment have thought several times on how the bots may be more efficiently crushed, and it has come to our attention that a digital virus is barely of any use, it may disturb communications, but whatever makes the automatons work cannot be infected so easily.. or they have thousands upon thousands of dedicated maintenance bots, who can react faster than our best human nameseeks. I propose disecting a live a automaton, still functioning. The ethics of such experimentation may be questionable... but there's surely an electronic port on these things, hook it up to a super earth computer safely contained in a virtual machine, and look through as fast as you can until it tries anything itself.
Do not question the ethics, Helldiver! They're our enemies, soulless and heartless! We must do anything to stop the enemy, no matter the cost! For Super Earth!
Honestly, didn’t think I’d listen to the whole thing but you sucked me in. Great presentation and story telling. That recording was great and so full of emotion. Subbed! Looking forward to more!

I was once asked about my thoughts on the automatons, "The Automatons have feelings. Some say they're cold and heartless, I say they're quite the opposite and full of full and warm emotions. They're feelings are just hidden behind they're cold metal bodies. More than this though, they understand feelings and emotions; I believe this because they know how to evoke fear in a man that makes him think of not just his greater self, but his lesser self; to make him see how little his god cares and how little he himself is. This fear reachs into you, it hits at the molecular level and it burns down to the marrow. I know this because the fire of fear they ignited inside of me still burns hot to this day" - malevelon creek veteran
I just came back from the defense of Imber. And while I was on the planet I did hear an odd murmur or human like unintelligible dialogue come from a beserker while it was charging me. Swiftly I gave the bot menace death but for a brief moment I tried to listen beyond its robotic ramblings. It only brought me curiosity. - sus/ SES/ Forerunner Of Freedom
This was incredibly well thought out, eloquently delivered, and fantastically presented. Philosophy and Helldiving isn't a combination often seen -especially when you're far too busy laying fire down upon these enemies-, and this posed a fascinating look into just what may make the Automatons as ruthless and wrathful as they are. The SES Song of the Stars is a primarily Terminid extermination crew, and the difference between the Bug front and Bot front on a psychological level is night and day. Even with Bot specialized allies at our side, our hardest battles are always against the Automatons. There's an entire galaxy of difference in fighting out of instinct, versus fighting out of pure, vitriolic wrath. Fight on, Divers. - SES Song of the Stars Command Crew
I love this video! Love the style of a documentary withing the Helldivers universe, very high quality and can't wait for more like this 👍 For Super Earth!
I've heard the clankers say that they cannot stop when I've dropped down on a bot controlled planet, whether that be in pain of fighting us or in a sadistic glory of marching to their deaths at the ends of our rifles and cannons.
Understanding the connections first is vital. For all we know, the automatons collectively feel that the actions they have taken are measured and compassionate ... they are not for the record. But we cannot fathom what the twisted intellect may consider good or wrong. It is plausible that severing individual bots from what ever collective consciousness or hive mind they may or may not have could result in behavioral changes that make the war harder for super earth. Understanding what connection, if any, gives us a clue on how the bots think and process information at various levels. If we can cause some kind of network attack, it has to be massive and near all encompassing to their entire population. A large population that remains could go into hiding and re-emerge even stronger than before. What ever survives the network attack (if possible) should be quick to deal with by S.E.A.F. forces. Helldivers could then have a continuous mission to hunt down survivors and any small, isolated pockets of population left. These populations would be isolated and tiny that rebuilding is out of the question for them especially with the helldivers still hunting them down actively.
Useing strong emp weaponry could cause an isolated disconnection breffly allowing for the affected machines consciousness to be permanently removed from the system.
the day i meet an automaton sobbing is the day that i'll stop fighting, war would have gone too far for a robot to cry there's no point in fighting a robot if all we did was making them more "alive" for the sake of it
If they're more alive... Perhaps they'll stop fighting too. If we ever come to a day where an Automaton and a Super Earth soldier refuse to kill each other because they know the other is a living being deserving of their own life - then the war would end. Then it all will not have been for naught.
Have the lab boys cook up malware that severs units from their main database. We seize a broadcast station used by the automatons to upload the malware.
Admiral MacMillan of the SES Arbiter of Justice here. Our forces fought for Malevelon Creek- both times. It was hell, but through the teamwork of us Helldivers, we accomplished the goal. With this new Democratic Space Station in orbit, we'll be able to take back what is rightfully ours.
Love the presentation of the videos. Almost feels like I'm being briefed on stuff. Edit: Saw another theory that suggested that brains are put in the automatons, (not enough to make them a cyborg, theyre still otherwise very much machine, but it explains the need for morale, propaganda, marching cadence.) Which kinda gives me the idea to write a story about a helldiver who fights like a demon, only to be critically wounded and captured, his brain put into a berserker and is forced to suicidally charge at his former comrades. His brain now acting as a processor merely for his reaction time as it fights desperately to stop, but is unable to.
SES Will of the People We’ve had a few isolated cases where returning Helldivers swear by Liberty itself that the Berserkers have human remains crudely crammed into them, and that they seem to be alive and in immense pain. These have all been chalked up to shell-shocked madness, and the Divers in question have been sent back to Super Earth for early retirement. However, some crew members have speculated if this could begin to explain the Berserkers’ unique behavior compared to other Automaton models.
At least with the grunts I have observed that they are more conservative in their approach, the ones with blades will guard themselves with their arms when shot at, an advance of mg raiders will be slowed by suppressive fire. When it comes to medium enemies they advance at a steady pace while protected by their heavier armor, while the bersekers will rush you in hopes that they can kill you before you kill them. For the heavy and super heavy enemies they barely have anything to worry about, the scorcher only charges at you to close the distance meanwhile the gunships are observed to move around to make themselves harder to hit
This isnt about a book…not a movie…not even a mythos…a video game. I fucking love this community and it saddens me how this game isnt hands down GOTY for anyone that played it
Troopers will actually retreat when they are too damaged, especially when limbs are blown off. I never checked if they run into a more tactical position, or if they are simply just… running. I use to always think it was their programming telling them that fighting is useless, and to try and preserve the material. But now, I am curious if he was running because he didn’t want to die.
I must ask where was that audio for I have no mouth but I must scream from? It sounds like a great narration of the story. Also, your video quality continues to impress me. Well done again.
In a recent automation adjacent notification (the one congratulating helldiver's for capturing one of the required planets for the napalm orbital barrage) it said the automatons on the remaining planet will fight harder as they feel surrounded and defenseless so they feel desperate and alon
Something i preposed to the Ministry of Science is the creation of a Stealth Super Destroyer that would be designed to sneek deep into enemy teritory to conduct reconisance or percision strikes on industrial or tactical targets. If there is a central location in Cyberstan, a small task force could appear above the planet and destroy it with mini nuke shells
Heres my theory The automatons do feel, they do contain sentience and to a certain degree do have self preservation but i believe that they may have code that overrides it like putting a blindfold over their senses leaving nothing but anger against their supposed enemy this could be why we see them do things such as call for reinforcements whilst simultaneously go for a full headlong charge without regard for safety. With the warning signs i would believe that those were for the cyberstan cyborgs or potential human slaves since we dont see automatons built for construction they might just make use of the human populace to build their machines and then either exterminate them or send them off world deeper into their territory. With the link severance if my theory about the self preservation blindfold is true then it could be code set to enable depending on set parameters making severing the link near impossible but if it is some kind of connection the only way to test would be to sever all frequencies of communication on a planet and attempt to catch the automatons off guard this would be the most efficient way to test this.
The bots also march, in cadence. Why would robots march and chant in cadence? They have to be somewhat sentient, because if they were unfeeling machines, they would have no need to march in cadence while chanting.
Each time I destroy an automaton I shed a tear thinking about the poor twisted soul that got brainwashed in this metal shell, driven away from liberty and democracy.
2:06 the cyborgs are still alive enslaved on cyberstan, the automatons were created by cyborgs that escaped beyond our sector to reclaim cybertan and save the cyborgs. Cyborgs still exist
That’s why the automatons were so desperate to get to cyberstan that they did a flank maneuver to get there However it would be a great twist if they arrived on cyberstan and the cyborgs were just.. all gone, like the cyborgs being alive was propaganda from super earth to keep the idea alive that they still had them under control and they didn’t just all die out after 100 years

SES - Lady of Twilight Reporting: After extensive campaigning across Gaellivare, Imber, Participating in the liberation of the Talus Sector and with more than 20k Automatons confirmed to be killed. They sound pained, their rasping voices choking out in smog smothered air. They live a pained existence, and that is only outshadowed by their hate for humanity. They are guided by that principle and while not a Hive Mind, I believe that overwriting hatred must be some part of their collective abominable intelligence.
As someone who's been on the bot front since the creek i can confirm the Automotons are obviously Sentient, they've created their own chants, they speak, they scream, they laugh, but most importantly they hate. Your conclusion dear scientist is brilliant.
Not a traitor, but i wouldn't suggest to capture one of these machines like an animal. Remember, even if OUR signals are jammed they can still request for drop ships, which means that even if that captured automaton is in Super Earth itself, the connection WILL be enough to directly send a reinforcement request straight to super earth.

I am in Super Earth High Command, and any Super Philosopher is allowed to discuss topics in benefit to Super Earth on condition that they routinely check in with the Ministry of Truth. This does not contradict with the Scientific Fact that Automatons are Soulless. They may have computated emotions, fears, and self-preservation protocols which is to be further investigated by the Ministry of Science.
I think the individual hate an Automaton experiences for us is the envy for wanting to feel, to love and to express. I think deep down they don't truly hate us, they feel as if their chance at life has been robbed from them.

I always understood Berserkers as repurposed Devastators that's been previously destroyed. Their essentials, repaired. Their armour, removed and replaced with the jagged scrap metal they now are clad in, making them lighter and faster on their feet. Their old weapons, if intact, installed on the new Devastators that are currently in production. The cheap but deadly mechanical blades given to them instead - a stark contrast from the high-tech energy blades of the automaton infantry. I don't know if most of the automatons I fight are sentient or not. Somehow I feel that most aren't. They are opportunistic. They see an angle they can shoot you from, they take it. They spot you and they march straight at you. They are not strategic. They are not coordinated. They don't try to trick you. Their one tactic is to make you face as many of them at once as they feasibly can. These do not hint to me at any individual sentience - though the soundness of their fortifications and tactical deployments certainly hints at a greater understanding of the battlefield at large... Perhaps by something higher, some commander unit up there in orbit?..
It really makes the bots scary when you take into consideration that we really dont know anything about them, aside from their combat and self replication abilities. Whoever or whatever built them did it knowing us Helldivers would die in droves to just barely hold them back. If you ask me, i think that whoever set them onto us, they're making a very long term investment. Look at the creek. How many Helldivers lost just for one planet. Someone is playing the long con with us, and I'd like to find out who. Until then, I'll keep scrapping these lowlife scrapheels.
If I'm not mistaken, (And I know very little about helldivers lore so I may be) the bugs are able to establish a hivemind by sending information through some undiscovered or ill-understood dimesion, no? I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume the automaton have harnesses the "technology" the bugs evolved or were gifted for themselves. If we ourselves can harness or at least find the weakpoint of this trans-dimensional communication, then we may be able to sever BOTH of the greatest threats to democracies' comms. The war would surely be a landslide victory if helldivers could communicate through our comparatively primitive radio, visual, etc. comms networks while the enemies struggle to adapt without their hivemind connections. The bots may even be unable to function without it, leading to mass shutdowns or deserting among their ranks.
I love the fact that our democratic propaganda tells us that they’re not sentient, they don’t feel pain or more but you know what? The Automations clearly seem to have some sort of self preservation instinct, flinching when shot at, taking cover from bullets, being effected by suppression, or the latest example of up armoring their walker to protect the operator better. There has to be something sentient about them.
they are descended from the Cyborgs, after all...
Also, it should be noted that, in game there are moments when automaton might decide to run away if they are the last one on their squad
They still have human brains, or at least it’s assumed that they do

They are future robots. Yet....
They look mostly humanoid? They miss quite often? They use iconography and symbols?
THEY HAVE PILOTS in their bigger war machines? They have different military ranks as we see more ornate looking "commissars" leading more basic looking troops?
It can only make sense if they are not ACTUALLY robots but WILLING or more disturbingly UNWILLING cyborgs.
If we Listen closer to the distorted voices...
Some of the patrols made of troopers and commissars are heard chanting... It also sound like they say hateful insults as they fight...(That is just speculation tho as the distortion is too severe)
Not very compatible with soulless robots.
“Dear god, (unintelligible) The suffe-(Unintelligible)”
“Help me, the suff- (unintelligible)”
“Eternal suff-(glitch)er-(scream of pain)”
It appears that the process to make an automaton requires human parts.
“I know they can’t feel emotions, but I swear when I looked into its eyes, I saw hate.” -an unnamed Helldiver
Helldiver serving aboard the Octagon of Individual Merit, reporting:
Instead of jamming the Automoton comms of an entire planet, using a large scale solution that the bots could solve with their own large scale solution (something they have proven to excel at), I propose hitting them on the battlefield level:
The SH-32 Shield Generator Pack already has a very powerful, man portable power supply which can be produced at industrial scale.
It could also be done on a regional/operational area by mounting the module on the super destroyer.

if you take out every bot in a patrol fast enough, no other bots investigate.
SES Flame of Wrath here:
A while ago, I experienced something that might potentially corroborate what your presentation spoke of.
SES Ranger of Gold here, I see no objections with this. infact extra hands on a destroyer is a good thing
@@gambit_sfm indeed it is
SES Halo of Gold, if a bot is fully willing to assist our liberation of the galaxy, i see no problems in allowing them to function.
Uuuuh cyberstan has been on súper earth control for 100 years so...
Likely no
if we capture 2 automatons from diffrnet planets and figure out what direction the signals are going in we could wind the point that they meet, this should be the location they are contoled from, or at least a communications relay.
also one potental, albeit poor method of disrupting communications could be somehow moving the gloom to the automation front, as it easily disrupts super earth communications im sure it could stop automation comms as well.
Maybe they're extracting the brains and the rest is used for something... Else
Maybe they're cooking biological super soldiers

I have dived against bugs when ordered, but as a predominantly bot only diver, I can tell you that the bots have a different kind of hate to the bugs. Bugs hate everything but are pretty brainless. But the bots are different. No matter where you drop, they will swarm the location and tactically do their best to both kill you and protect their assets. I imagine it’s similar to old wars fought before the unification of super earth. The bots seem to be an adversary far worse than bug divers give them credit for.

Reporting from the SES Song of Steel
I had an extensive tour of Vernon Wells during Operation Trolley Problem, at the time I was a Field Technician who spent most of my government funding on Sentries and Guard Dogs.

I don’t think hulks and striders have a crew to operate them . Which is pretty terrifying in of itself
This is beyond unethical, as is super earth

I still think they all have harvested humans brains in their skulls, acting as their main computation device.
I just came back from the defense of Imber. And while I was on the planet I did hear an odd murmur or human like unintelligible dialogue come from a beserker while it was charging me.

For Super Earth!
Ill have to talk about this to my democracy officer but you have definitely given me a new outlook to view the war on.

If we ever come to a day where an Automaton and a Super Earth soldier refuse to kill each other because they know the other is a living being deserving of their own life - then the war would end. Then it all will not have been for naught.

Edit: Saw another theory that suggested that brains are put in the automatons, (not enough to make them a cyborg, theyre still otherwise very much machine, but it explains the need for morale, propaganda, marching cadence.)
Which kinda gives me the idea to write a story about a helldiver who fights like a demon, only to be critically wounded and captured, his brain put into a berserker and is forced to suicidally charge at his former comrades. His brain now acting as a processor merely for his reaction time as it fights desperately to stop, but is unable to.
SES Will of the People
We’ve had a few isolated cases where returning Helldivers swear by Liberty itself that the Berserkers have human remains crudely crammed into them, and that they seem to be alive and in immense pain.
What a amazing content!

Remember to practice those desensitization exercises divers
Heres my theory
The automatons do feel, they do contain sentience and to a certain degree do have self preservation but i believe that they may have code that overrides it like putting a blindfold over their senses leaving nothing but anger against their supposed enemy this could be why we see them do things such as call for reinforcements whilst simultaneously go for a full headlong charge without regard for safety.
This is definitely giving me "it's afraid" vibes
Each time I destroy an automaton I shed a tear thinking about the poor twisted soul that got brainwashed in this metal shell, driven away from liberty and democracy.

This does not contradict with the Scientific Fact that Automatons are Soulless. They may have computated emotions, fears, and self-preservation protocols which is to be further investigated by the Ministry of Science.
“I know the bots aren’t capable of emotion, but then I looked into its eyes. I saw hate.”
I think the individual hate an Automaton experiences for us is the envy for wanting to feel, to love and to express. I think deep down they don't truly hate us, they feel as if their chance at life has been robbed from them.
SES Lady Of Victory Helldiver Inspection Notice:
"When I was Down there i disarmed a bot, That bot looked at me in the eye rather then hate i saw fear. It didn't want to die, it wanted to live and so i let it live. Then when i was outnumbered that bot saved me. I didn't Understand why but the bots left as i reach the extraction point. I looked at that bot one last time before i left, I saw grateful and Honor from a bot, I didn't understand why but i saw life that day. I never told anyone but my callsign will be known if anyone read this. i might be considered a traitor but it is a truth." -Commander Mist
We are still here. We, the Cyborgs, still exist. The ordinary troopers and berserkers are machines, but the devastators, hulks are Human
Communists!
Report them these traitors
This one's sanity must've already crumbled
The children of cyberstan, automatons fight with heart and courage for their homeland against their oppressors:
The helldivers
I love the fact that our democratic propaganda tells us that they’re not sentient, they don’t feel pain or more but you know what? I actually like the idea that they can feel so I can democratically hurt them more! This was such an enlightening presentation that I’m sure my democratic officer will approve and use as briefing on board, then organize our next bot dives based on this. We vote for science, we vote for pain. SES: Glove of Honor out.
In light of recent events, i am concerned about the squids taking control of the clankers... or liberty forbid... the nids.
Commenting to stimulate the algorithm
I believe that the automatons are a way to destroy Super Earth and let the cyborgs reclaim the former empire. Much like Necrons from 40k.
