While I understand this take it’s nevertheless wrong. Arrowhead hasn’t announced anything at all about or even hinted at a clan system. It’s only data mined information that’s been repeated ad nauseam by shit bag RUclipsrs looking to crank out capital C content for add revenue. (Thordan is definitely the worst of these shitheels) I don’t think it’s really fair to expect Arrowhead to communicate “better” or more about features they themselves haven’t mentioned even once. Whatever vague hints at a clan system the data miners found definitely wouldn’t even function if implemented into the game today. With all the changes to the game any clan system would have to built from the ground up to accommodate the new infrastructure. Give it a year then ask arrowhead again I say

If I had to guess, I would wager that the 3ft cone acts similarly to how tungsten penetrators act when they're fired at armor, i.e., their "self sharpening" properties that cause the tip to deform and ablate/shear off to the sides of the penetrating rod and allowing it to penetrate deeper into armor. Pretending it would actually be possible (and from a lore standpoint), the Super Earth scientists working at Super DARPA probably figured out the optimal amount of material needed for the drop pod to penetrate "only" a couple meters into the ground- just 3 feet of material.

two things to consider: 1) the Devs may just be cooking till it's done to avoid a problem where they release something and it doesn't meet player expectations 2) the Devs love to lean into the Roleplay aspect, they are the Super Earth Government and the government doesn't tell you jack shit lol. I mean they got a literal ministry of truth what more is there to say that being said I agree I would like some more info from them, or rather some more direct outreach. I see no reason that the 1st Colonial Regiment, Kai's Commandos, Freedom Alliance, Merc Divers, and even *gags* the CHAOS DIVERS should be in contact with the Devs via liaisons on things regarding the clan system (disclaimer I don't actually hate the chaos divers I think they're chill, my helldiver squad is just fanatically loyal to super Earth)

I picked up this weapon and have not put it down. Originally the raptor was what I went for against bots but the reprimand became my super hell dive weapon against both the bugs and bots.

Now I'm just one ministry of truth officer but I went into this expecting to terminate your research however... I do not see this as treason or dissenting. It's clear to me that if you're correct meridia stops the gloom where it is because it's constantly drawing the spores inside where they can't cluster further progressing in that direction but that's very little considering how much is outside of its range of influence. When I was a cadet I did find myself concerned about things above my pay grade but if what you say is true it answers a question I was asking myself all those years ago. How could these bugs possibly get from one planet to another, the automatons have ships. The terminid Don't have those things they're simply undemocratic and freedom hating insects but if they spread through this gloom and spores that float through space well that answers a very important question.

0:12 seconds in and I'd like to just remind you and all my fellow divers that might read this comment the DSS and the platoon/clan system are completely separate things. content creators really need to disregard leaks/datamined assets as definitive content because they are not. a bit unfair to AH when players set their expectations to something that isn't confirmed, and them get flacked when those expectations goes nowhere, just a thought.
