At that weight 35 kg is a lot in a short amount of time. Average lifters plateau on their lifts all the time and the fact eddie did it in less than a year is amazing. Thor literally took 4 years to beat it.

    • @pbkimblee1858
      @pbkimblee1858 3 года назад

      @@Arnmazing23 some flawed logic there. It's not like Thor trained for 4 years to beat the 500kg world records. His road to 501kg duration was not that long, it was not even a year when he walked the 501kg deadlift jorney. Keep in mind he almost had the 501kg at elephant bar, suitless a year before he began training for the 501kg conventional and suited. He announced that he will attempt 501kg on 2020 WUS competition or on some event, but due to the pandemic he can't.
      Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 465kg deadlift was on an elephant bar and he was suitless, if that was done in conventional bar and with suit, I have no doubt that he could pull more and struggle less than that.
      My point is, for suited conventional deadlift, 465kg was below Eddie's 1RM already at that time meaning he didn't necessarily add 35kg to his 1RM but lesser. I'd say he could pull around 485-490kg the day he set 465kg suitless world record.

    Paul Anderson did 600 lbs. Anderson did 380 with 1 hand with a dumbbell. I am not discounting any of these great strong men, just keeping it real. Someone will probably come along one day that will be as strong as Paul Anderson was. Maybe soon. I remember when 661 was a world record bench press in powerlifting. I remember when Dave Passanella squatted the world record 1048 in Hawaii. My dad spotted Dave when he walked out 1,100 pounds and doubled it and walked it back in the car jack squat racks. We have come a long way since Dave was killed in an auto accident in 1991. But we have a little more to go to out lift Paul Anderson. Anderson back lifted 6,275 lbs. @The monster under your bed "All static events"
      Let's test this completely wrong theory.
      Qualifying events for Eddie's group:
      1. Load and drag
      2. Log lift (static)
      3. Truck pull
      4. Deadlift (static)
      5. Overhead toss
      6. Last man standing
      Final events:
      1. Flip and drag
      2. Squat (static)
      3. Viking press (static)
      4. Vehicle pull
      5. Deadlift (static)
      6. Atlas stones
      Hmm, look at that, pretty much the same mix of events they have every year. Yep, looks like you're full of shit.

      Casey Porter I’m aware of the weight difference but even to current strongmen, a 365 lb axle is nowhere near baby weight to them. Eddie Hall deadlifted 1100lbs but that doesn’t mean 900 isn’t still heavy to him.

    • @ONShypnos
      @ONShypnos 5 лет назад

      Nobody else had quite the same circumstances - you don't get many competitors with hands and grip like Henry, not many strongmen are more familiar with the clean than the continental and competitions these days almost always use a smooth axle rather than a knurled one.
      Some do know how to clean an axle but it's almost never worth using unless it's a light rep event or a medley. Even guys like Koklyaev ended up switching to a continental for heavy work because it's just more effective.
