Great to see you! This has been my new combo. The mousse DRIES my high porosity, fine hair to the max and it is horrible. I decided to try the base gel underneath for moisture and then the mousse. And it worked. The first time I did it, it flaked but I think I used too much product now I have been using less and it is feeling better.
I definitely feel you on mousse alone. Unless I’m doing a rod set I’ve yet to try one that doesn’t dry my hair out on it’s own. Even then I still prefer to have at least a spray leave in. I grossly underestimated how far 808 could go my first time around too. It was a snow storm 😂
It reaaly did. I literally saw it shrink. Because it was hanging on your shoulders and then it started shrinking to your ears. lol, mine, my mother's, and my daughter's hair do the same thing. People don't understand 😀. Your hair is beautiful though. I use the pop and lock it as a base before adding my gel. I love the pop lock. It gives good hold. Seriously i think the 808 is a reformulation of the pop lock. Ijs Thanks for the review ❤🤷🏽♀
It’s so wild honestly and my mom’s is the same way 😂 You just gotta roll with it! I’ve seen so many bomb one and dones using Pop Lock. I have it but just haven’t had the chance to get into it yet. The Doux is showing OWT!!!!
I been using it with the mielle pomegranate and honey mousse and its quite soft with definition that holds even when it gets frizzy if that makes sense. I find the user experience is better than UFD curly magic. And a bottle last almost 4 months even though i have more hair than god. If I gotta use something imma use the crazy sexy curl with it next
Yes! It’s a flexible base that lasts and I’m just forever impressed by it. I’ve heard so many good things about CrazySexyCurl so it’s on my list too 😂 tfw lovely💕💕💕
I thought mousse def was my holy grail but you gotta try the crazy sexy curl mousse. The shine and flexible hold is top tier imo. I’m yet to try 808 but I’m awaiting your review on pop lock as we have similar hair textures
I love the results so much and it would fit perfectly in my routine!! Can I apply shampoo and conditioner like usual then the combo? And last question is it best to buy the leave in conditioner from Pattern or this combo for my dry and damaged hair? (Low porosity if it changes anything and I have lots of split ends everywhere)
Sometimes I get rlly busy and I would stretch my wash days. I’ve spent so much money already and time on watching videos and reading reviews about hair products I feel lost
So to your first question, YES! Always start with a good foundation so a good cleanse and condition before you style. As far as adding a leave-in that’s up to you. Brands don’t formulate with each other in mind so there’s no guarantee that they will layer well. I personally feel like 808 has enough moisture on its own and doesn’t need anything else to support it’s function. I look at testing new products like trying a new recipe, I always follow the directions first and THEN make adjustments based on my results. I hope that helps!
You’re welcome and I definitely understand! I think the series I’ll be posting next week will actually help a lot. And I’m hoping to do a live some time this weekend so if you’re able to hop in I can answer in a more concise way then. I’ll let y’all know what day and time!
I’m going to try this gel again. Like you mentioned, I didn’t apply it as directed, as my other gels I can get away with a lazier application using larger sections. Thank you for the video!
you got me wanting to try this combo again. i tried it twice and didnt like it, but i didnt work the 808 in as much as you did. i never usually apply my base product that way so i ignored the instructions lol but i'm going to stop being hard-headed and use it as suggested and see.
I feel you! It’s wild because the more you work it in it starts to feel like a completely different product. Let me know if it helps! My results were literally night and day once I adjusted lol.
It’s painful how despicably ignorant some of y’all still are. The bald headed behavior isn’t becoming and is far more predictable love. Maybe you should work on that 😏
You're back! Results look great, really shiny and defined.
It’s always good to be back!!!! Tfw love 💕
Great to see you!

Love your hair!
Thank you 💕💕💕
😍😍😍

You have the type hair that can work if it had only soap and water in it. Show me something that isn’t so predictable
