Hi Isaac, hope everything’s going well. I have a question. I watched your video on setting traps in rain and freezing conditions. In the sets you placed, you used only the wet dirt to set one instead of using waxed dirt. Is that because you didn’t have any waxed dirt at the time? Here in Alabama, we don’t much in the way of freezing weather.(some but very little) However it sure knows how to rain! Previously, I looked at waxed dirt in videos as an anti-freeze product. But when I saw how water repellent it is, I knew that it was just what I need for here. Do you ever use it to repel rain even though it’s not going to freeze?
    Thanks & God bless

So at the time that video was made I had never used wax dirt before. With that being said, I’ll never set a trap again like the video you watched. Yes, it does work but wax dirt makes life much easier. As far as rain goes, the wax dirt is phenomenal at making the sets water proof. I would highly recommend using wax dirt in your part of the world even though there’s not much freezing down there. Wax dirt also makes it so much easier to do remakes. Say you catch a coyote and it’s an absolutely muddy mess. That’s no problem when you have wax dirt. It still beds the trap solid and will stay working no matter how much rain you get. Hope this helps!!

Around my mom's it stays wet because it's down by the mountain and there's Creeks that run through the fields best to keep a bucket of dry dirt

Great stuff! First year trapper here with a question: I’ve caught 8 coyotes so far this year. 6 females and 2 males. Is that an aberration due to low numbers or are females easier to catch?

Same here, trapping a couple years and catching way more females. Idk why either.

Nice effort you’re not dealing with a real freezing conditions if so that Trap would lock from the jaws all the way around to the layer on top of it

We usually get down into the 20s in the winter months here. It’ll freeze pretty dang good at that temperature

Good set brotha with that ground wet like that 👊🏻. Bout to be dealing with that after the next 2 days. Deer Dog season just ended today and it supposed to rain 100% for us tomorrow night 🤬. Just a tip we use Pete Moss down on this end in Mississippi when it’s wet weather or rain seems to hold up good. BOL to ya 👊🏻

@@CarolinaCoyote You are welcome Sir! Watchin your videos and others have really got me wanting to try trapping coyotes and bobcats vs calling them in, Ive been trying to find some MB550 offset but most places are sold out, have you ever done a video to show your whole setup? Im assuming you have to add swivels, chain and land anchors to all your? Also, I like you milk crate dog cages lol
