Tips: This is more to the new versions, in the olds, the dragons just gonna incenerate you when you got 1 chunk distance of him. If you have a Popato Pc, you are Dead, just with a lot luck or a prepared gear. and to get prepared you need to explore the overworld, who haves a lot of dragons so yeah. In mod options you can disative the dragons breaking block when flying. Is not confirmed, but i think that can work in tier 5, just think 2 times before do it.
Fire dragons in the 1.12.2 version are friggin psychos! Living like a mole is how I make do in my "Reign of Fire"-inspired survival world. I loot Lost Cities buildings for shinies but even then I have to be careful, and I've had to ditch a few expeditions when a wall of the building I was in spontaneously started turning into scorched blocks because one of the beasts outside had become aware of me! It's mostly my own fault though, I cranked dragon roost rates up somewhat to really make the world properly *infested* with fire dragons like in the movie that inspired it.
I have several strategies I use: For lightning and ice dragons you can just build above them and place a lava bucket (may need multiple since they might move around and just walk out of it, especially if using this on an underground dragon) For all dragons you can just get a dragon bone wall (which is one of the few blocks they can't break) and chain them to it. This prevents them from flying off and keeps them in one spot so you can kill them, you still need to be careful of their breath attacks though
You can cheese ice and lightning dragons if you place lava on top of them in a underground nest I did this to a stage 5 lightning and killed him really quickly
I got a extremely but a lil Expensive Method For killing Dragons (ill Recommend a Iron farm for it) so youll basically need 24 iron Blocks. So u make a lil "house with a length of 2 Blocks and a Broad of 1 Block. And u basicslly make the Walls 3 Blocks Up and infront of you where u can Exit One Iron Block, now u just need to get a dragon to follow u, make it in your lil iron house, make a ceiling out of the Iron Block and yeah, now u just gotta hit it with some Tools (with iron it takes bout 5-10 mins) and Voilla!
@@AlightAce basically, youre in that iron house after letting the dragon follow you until there, and from there on, it cant get you but you can still hit it (this only works on dragons above the ground). I also recommended placing water on the Block youre standing so even if you manage to be on fire your fine
I won't lie. It isn't a 100% success rate. It is more or less of a back up. I know java render distance is rough, but if it's possible 16 render distance can be helpful :)
U gotta loot a village before trying my method and get 6 dragon bones and 3 chains... so u craft a chain line then sneak underneath the dragon lair while it's sleeping, best if u have a straight tunnel so u can escape really fast cause when u chain the dragon it wakes up... so once u do that just run through the tunnel then wait a while... the dragon will start getting damage trying to brek the chain or whatever happens idk, either that or it will start digging down and at some point it will get stuck if it gets stuck, like hangging from the dragon bone wall then dig underneath it and start hitting it if it flies well... land a hit with a snowball or smth s that u can still get the exp after it dies...
In my entire IaF Jorney, i can confirm, that's strategy work 50% in 1.12 and 80%. (In 1.16 The Lighting Dragon don't work to good try fight at night with a iron armor at least)
You can also just chain the dragon somewhere. Personally i kombied the dragon by getting below it but you can of course use a bow as well i huess a tnt cannon would also work
I never thought about using chains. I'd rather avoid getting that close early game, as this is an early game plan. TNT is late game item for most players, it requires killing a ton of creepers or making mob farms which are both boring in rpg style packs for the majority of players. Still seeing a tnt cannon kill a dragon would be badass so I love your style.
@@mx43classified35 well to be fair i played a modpack where there is a lot of tnt in structeres u explore early game as for the chain method u can easily get close to the dragon when its night since they will sleep then
I think the sneaking in and attaching a chain could actually work for me. I play on 1.16.5 with Alex's Mobs and created Roadrunner Boots that make me run craaaazy fast on sand, it's especially insane when sprinting and timing jumps well. I bet I could sneak up to a sleeping fire dragon in the desert at night and dash out fast enough to save my hide, then snipe from afar. Would make a great dragonslayer legend! (Lightnings would be less annoying with the mobs since they sleep during the day, but mesas don't always have red sand on the top, and savannahs and jungles definitely won't work for this.)
To be honest I am not sure. I would believe ice is possible, but lightning would be a heck of a challenge. If I find some spare time I'll try to get back for ya :)
Lightning would be hard because it is nocturnal, you have to go to it, and it will keep going back to its nest and sleeping. Trying to do it at night when the dragon is awake is also tricky, because mobs will mess you up in no armor at night. I'm sure it is possible, but probably better to gear up before fighting lightning dragons. They are also the hardest dragons to fight due to their breath attacks dealing crazy high damage, definitely better to start with a fire or ice dragon. If you do plan to go the "Planning and equipment" route for fighting a dragon, it's definitely best to go for an ice dragon first. Their breath deals the least damage, and holding the sneak button will prevent damage from ice spikes. When going melee with a dragon, never forget golden apples! And with stage 4 or 5 make sure you have a high durability set of enchanted dragon scale armor, unless you plan on dying or cheesing the dragon
I killed a lighting dragon with no armour, all I did was get a bucket of lava, built on top of it (not too close) then poured the lava and ran far enough so that it wont attack me when it wakes up. I killed it
