Have you ever searched for any of the above? Well, today I'll be showing you 10 ways to find a dragon cave / dragon cavern. Each new method is increasingly more effective, to a point where it's so op, that it's actually impossible not to find a dragon cavern.

This is a Hardcore Minecraft Series with the Ice and Fire Mod in the 1.16.5 version of Minecraft. The Mod includes Fire Dragons, Ice Dragons, Lightning Dragons, Myrmex, Cyclops, Sirens, Hydras and a bunch more awesome creatures. This series is not RLCraft. It's also not Hardcore RLCraft. I personally enjoy using Xaeros minimap/world map because the world map has cave layers, so if you put the cave layers mode at chunk 30, you can see any dragon dens underground where ever you are.
This method is extremely helpful and I'm surprised it wasn't put in the video
With Xaeros minimap as well if you hold tab it shows the names of the entities as long as theyve rendered in
You can see the dragons render in way before the chunks load so you can basically always be headed in the direction of a dragon because sometimes they render close enough to basically be like a radar

@@mr.hamster318 Yes by using Xaeros world map, in later versions what you load on the surface also loads underground and if you go to the right y lv in a cave all you have to do is look around and mark any you wanna go to

another way to find them is to fly above ground, set Ur render distance lower (between 6 & 12) then just look down while flying and every once in a while spam F3 + A because this only reloads chunks and u can see entitys underground with it

Also when fighting fire and thunder dragons you can hit them with ice weapons, this makes them unable to fly away as long as they are covered in the ice effect from the weapons, this doesn’t work on ice dragons though but also will be able to make a serpent sink to the bottom of the ocean if you want to avoid fighting it

Dude thanks a lot, i was just mining for the dragon caves and i took for ever, but now that i know these usefull tips, oh my god its amazing, finally i will have my own dragon
Another way is to dig down to level 35 in a one block area put down ur stage 3 dragon and get on it, your head will get stuck but will make you able to xray but only showing entities. This can make you see dragons sleeping even if it’s 300 blocks away then just fly out and head to where u saw it from underground. It gives a much clearer vision of the dragons without millions of caves blocking the view

After watching one of your previous videos, I looked at a saved map of my world and found a dragon's nest underwater. Thank you, although I did not look for it, but then it will come in handy

Mini Map is in my opinion best method. You can change settings to display all dragons even outside of the map with their y level and type. You basically can fly on fast mount and see all of them in your render distance. Also really helpful with locating rare mobs like cave centipedes and trolls. And works on all serwers because it is client side. >:)
I found one in the prehistoric cave of Alex's Cavs. Genuinely insane how modded minecraft works

If you're anything like me, you made the Ice and Fire mod deliberately spawn as few structures as possible as far apart as possible.
Why do I do this?
Because dragons, and specifically dragonsteel items, are OP.
Minimizing the mere chance of even finding a dragon makes that OPness at least balanced due to obscurity.
Pro tip- in Xaeros minimap if there is a purple dot in the map it means there is a dragon there and click tab to see which dragon it is (:

I found two underground dragons alone with the composter trick. These dragons where sadly directly under my house so I had to move.
Im new to this mod so if i find a dragon under my house why should i move 🙂
@@rakanal.2925 Because if the dragon wakes up, it will destroy blocks to get to the surface and this means that my house would get destroyed and my dog would be in danger.
I had same issues. Use gorgon head.

i happen to be using the mods: ice and fire, mowzies mobs, waystones and alexs mobs and when i found a barakoa village it had a dragon lair under it but also a gravesite beside it and below the gravesite.. ANOTHER DRAGON LAIR both lightning dragons but only 1 of them gave me an egg sadly lol

If you don’t know this pixies drop or you can farm them with glass bottles for pixie dust and then turn that into an overpowered stew.
Dragon caverns are easy to find if you have the dragon seeker

1:How much sleep do you normally get on one day?
2:How do you see that it is an female dragon?

1: I sleep around 6-8 hours
2: Ice/Fire males have spots on wings & Lightning males have lightning pattern and color fade on wings. Females don‘t

I really like the Ice and Fire mod i can't find any good modpacks except yours
quicktip: boat above water alot and cover as much area as possible then when u go underground and use xaeros worldmap everything above water will shower underground so u can see caves that were right under the water

how do u tell if a dragon is male or female?
Female is stage 4-5 spawning in caves. Also I think male has more detailed wings. Also females are bigger I think.
Horns, the males have bigger ones
Males have a spotted pattern on their wings, females have no pattern
Female has no spots on the wings
Males have spots on their wings, females don't

go to the bottem of some ocean like cold ocean or deep cold ocean , and use xaero map , pause tab , you can see con ice dragon , it very easy , i tried and found over 7 ice dragon , and also go to the bottem of the river , it will appear some dragon cave

Great tutorial I subbed found 2 stage 4 dragons underground using mining at y 35 and the X-ray glitch 10/10 tutorial yo wait what’s the name of the map mod I’m trying to make a curse forge mod pack myself for ice and fire and I need the map mod also is the chaining up a separate mod please notice my comment I need these mods
what mods are in your modpack, i especially like the hotbar sounds
There’s also one more method that’s late game that I don’t think was discussed that I use, and I’d rate it a 6/5! Just turn your render to something like 5 or 7, and max your entity render to 500%. And with your dragon, fly high just enough until the floor is not rendered anymore, but mobs will still be seen. Even underground! Then just fly wherever enjoying your x ray seeing sleeping dragons under the earth

you can also change the y lvl on xaeros minimap and then see underground structures. its kinda cheaty but it works rly well if u dont care abt it
I meam the last 4 methods are just as cheaty so at this point why not
You can also make them render outside of the map and show y level to recognise if it is surface or cavern one. >:)

no i struggle NOT finding Dragon Caverns. nothing like mining early game just to realize i came within 50 blocks of a sleeping dragon and just got roasted alive through layers of stone
