I have learned so much from this video-have a question for you: I am working on my third fox hide-brain tanning with fur on-I have done the braining process and worked it and worked it. I am tempted to wash and brain it again-what are your thoughts. So far, this is the best one yet!
To get a really soft hide I started pickling. Im working on this with a beaver hide now . But brains sometimes need done twice but be careful how long you let a fox stay wet sometimes the hair will slip in areas that didnt get salted as good
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors Great to hear back from you and exactly what I was afraid of-hair slippage. Right now he is just perfect and ready for smoking. After the braining, stretching and scraping I think he needs a good washing and rinsing which means another quick braining. Is my thinking right?
Thank you! I have been setting out an animal trap cuz I keep losing my ducks! The last duck ..body found at the end of property line missing it's neck & head .... not sure what getting them. Any idea's? Thx!

Could be a number of things. Opossum. Raccoon. Fox. Or skunks

How did you get the brain out?
I normally open up the skull from the spinal cord with a tomahawk
