- I come from a family of rovers. For generations, my family has sought their fortunes in the far-flung corners of the world, rarely settling anywhere near where they were born or raised.
This is trait inherent in those of Scottish descent, who for centuries left the hills and dales of Caledonia to wander the world.
Whether they were mercenaries fighting with the armies of Europe, explorers in the New World, missionaries to the Far East, or merchant seamen who sailed the world's oceans to strange and distant lands, the Scots have always followed the lure of the unknown, always wanting to see what's over the next mountain or beyond the horizon.
Indeed, the rovin' dies hard.

I've seen a lot of videos like this, where people put images to already-marvelous works... This is clearly the best of the genre. As a Scot by blood, I can say that this really summons the spirit of the motherland. Well done, whoever you are.

The Rovers(TINKERS) dis-posessed Highland folk, some of the language of Eden (Gaidhlig) they spoke was unique. Their ability for mending things, their freedoms!! .Scots discoveries, adventure and the ability to invent so much for good , mi-used by others! Indigenous people are the salt of the Earth, and are all over the globe !! The intruders are ignorant and greedy! Over 7 years in North America enjoyed my times with Indian People!
