This is definitely not true. Plus he feels a part of the band not the boss. I just watched a interview by both sides of Styx and DDY and he admitted he felt he should be. He was off at on point he had suffered a nervous breakdown. I have experience working with people who are prown to mental problems. One symptom can be sensitivity to light.
Dennis was not fired He left the band, Due to differences between James Young and Tommy Shaw, He actually sued them it was settled out of court, personally James Young and Tommy Shaw are not really STYX, not saying they aren't any good, but it's just not STYX, having seen STYX with DeYoung, Panozzo etc then Seeing Young and Shaws version yeah not really the same, just saying

The antics, ego and poor stage performance of Dennis is sad and very telling ..... The Group needed to rid themselves of him AND ALLOW THE INCREDIBLE TALENT OF SHAW SHINE through .... the fact that they placated this keyboard tyrant ended up losing money, fan base, time and a suitable keyboard man that wanted to be a part of the process - not dictate what it would be
poor stage performance? are you deaf and dumb? fact they never lost money fact in 1996 and 1997 their comeback tours initiated by deyoung were both amazing and wildly profitable. in 98 he got a severe illness then while recording BNW a tour was suggested and he asked for 6 months to recover and shaw youri idol and young replaced him for fast cash. know something before you display your ignorance

Dennis refused to tour, fired a good manager and refused to leave his house for yrs. They went on tour without him..that’s how it ended.
