Absolutely love my 2014 208Gti. Peugeot was singular focused and I believe their design choices make this the best car in the segment. Proper clutch manual fantastic seats and I love the position of the steering wheel and the gauges. Very reminiscence of my extremely fast 500 hp FD RX7 V8 Endurance race car. I am 72 years old and this car makes me feel like I’m 22 again. They nailed it.
Movie is a bit long and looks like it is made in the 90's. But I think he is doing a very good job pinpointing the facts about this car. Bought it new in 2014 myself (in the Netherlands for about 26,5K Euros), and still got it :) 75k kilometers on it now, not that much in 10 years. I love it. Always had my previous cars for only 1 or a few years. This one has been with me for 10 years now! Never had the feeling I was missing something or wanting something else (only one I ever slightly considered was the Fiesta ST, but the interior looks more simple). This one is perfect for me. Speed/economy/weight/practicality/interior (much better than it's rivals back then)/feeling like you are driving something special! It's all pretty much spot on for me. OK, quality wise it has let me down a few times, but a few times mainly because I was trying to save maintenance costs I guess (only recently let them install new spark plugs, had a few coils blown). Only things that are a little less positive is the relative high seating position, a bit too "loose" feel in steering/handling and yes I would say the quality maybe, Peugeot doesn't always use the most expensive and best quality parts on their cars, hence their price ;) But overall I would just say I love everything about it, looks, feel, and all the other stuff mentioned above. :) Unique and underrated.
I love the 208 GTI, i have had 3 of them now. I was stupid to sell the first, wasnt happy with the condition of the second and just a wile ago got myself the last 2018 model. I can without a doudt recomend the updated model, bigger difference then one might think. As said the handeling/comfort compromise is really good, drive it at 8/10 and its really really fun on a small road.
Hi..im.gonna get one soon..may i ask you the differences between the 200hp and the 208 hp? Overall..witch differences did you notice between the 2? Thanks
@@TheMaurob1979 The engine feel much stronger then the 8hp suggest, also more fuel efficient. And the media system is much much better then the old one. Here its also cheaper taxes on it.
They're brilliant little cars. I've had mine for 7 years and 72k miles. It's a prestige variant and modified with a Quaife LSD, Airtec FMIC, remap and Bilstein B14 coilovers. It's been incredibly reliable and practical, it does the school run most days but when the kids are at school/nusary it becomes a brilliant B road blaster.
As once a 17 year old with “posters of the 205 1.9 GTI on their wall” fast forward from 1996 I am collecting one of these in a few days time. Thankfully most of my driving will be country roads 😎 and yes Welsh boarder like the wye valley

I just got a 2015 gti and I'm looking into moding it. What's the remap you've got, and how much power? Cheers mate!

Thoughtful, articulate and comprehensive review with an understanding of this car’s “subniche”
an Intelligent,energetic & creative review. Nice👍
Glad you liked it!
I may have a budget of 3 grand does this get me one that's reliable?
There is absolutely no synergy between this car and the 1.9
Sincerely a 1.9 gti owner

I just want to know why are your clothes two sizes larger than it should be?
