@TheArtisanTouch thanks dude. Should be doing the commentary for another video to go live tonight too. Then see what I can make this week.

Glad to be the first one here! You've helped me improve a lot, I always love hearing your 2 cents, your lifetime of knowledge is well known. I've since taken to only using hard solder given the longevity of it because of you.

@ScrolledAgain fair play mate. Just pleased it's helping.
Going to get the next video on tomorrow. Double whammy weekender.
      Thanks again.

Thanks Ydna. Really helpful. I definitely think I’m running by flex shaft too slow, which is why my burrs are catching and ripping round my claws. Great advice, thanks.

@@phillbearman359 it is honestly very likely the reason. I hold my handpiece quite firmly as well.

rings scare me because I'm an opal guy. I bought at auctions 125 stones and gems. I will sort the strong ones and separate them for a ring challenge. Thanks for the tutorial/demos, the cautions especially benefit me.

@brucesr8744 yeah. I hear you. Some cheap magnifiers and a bit of care awareness, for how close your tools are to the gems goes a long way.
I appreciate you commenting. Thank you.

Another really helpful video. Cheers. I've got some largish CZs, so im defo going to try this ring next, once I'm done with a couple of ongoing rings for friends. Did you release the Discord details. I've never used the platform before, but it sounds like a good place to share ideas.

@steveredwatty cool. This stone in the video is a cz too. Very safe stone to practice with. I did release the discord in info on another video. But it's a bit temperamental. So when I do my website reveal in a couple of weeks for my actual business, I'm just going to try and start a forum on there, which I hope will be nice and easy to do. 😬 I need to have a play.
      Thanks again.

Isn't it faster for stone setting if you carve down the notches of stone sitting place with stone settling burr inside the collet before cutting the prongs? I did it with a drill bit and cut the 4 stone sitting places once and all equal then I cut the prongs. I didn't set the stone yet so don't know if I come across an issue but it looks ok because the sitting places have the same shape as you do. As my uncle used to say...Lazy people always find a short cut lol.

@tabasdezh it just never ends up as crisp. My main cuts were done on the first video which helped aline the four centre vertical lines to differentiate the claw split. Remember this is slow motion for me to try and capture it on video. In true non video recording time, this would be done in between 3 and 5 minutes. 👍🏼
Thanks for watching more and good luck with your works.

@TheArtisanTouch it's just my eyes that are wonky. As long as a line like that is only on the inside it's all good. 🤣
