My grandson who plays trumpet in his high school wind ensemble played this last night in their concert. Fantastic! They are going to play it next month in Indianapolis at a competition. Those high school kids are amazingly talented.
Played this at my all-region concert this past January. We got the opportunity to facetime with Kevin Day and play for him, what an awesome experience.
Let’s go, we are playing this in wind ensemble this year, I’m a euphonium and a sophomore. For my second year of high school. I can definitely say, I’m sorry for the people that quit in middle school, they don’t get to play stuff like this
@@alysonnunn4931 i don’t know, liturgical was pretty good. Probably cause the euphonium part was hard we but I still really live this price, I don’t blame ya
I played this for a 9-12 music camp and oh my god 😭. I play trumpet and was give Part 2 (aka the same as some clarinets and flutes usually). I guess that’s what I get for getting second chair lmao! Though it was super fun and challenging to learn. Also this is the best recording I’ve found of it. Good job-
played this during band camp my incoming junior year of high school this past summer, and no piece of music has ever challenged me like this piece did. I absolutely loved it tho!!!

I’m playing contrabass clarinet on this for a concert this week. Such a banger!!
The licks in the clarinet part are a lot of fun!
Huge horn features, and a soprano solo? Sign me up!
(Although writing a c# above the staff for a soprano sax is a bit of a supervillain move)

This piece definitely lives up to its name! It's 🔥🔥🔥! Fantastic work, brother Day!
playing this right now at the university of southern mississippi honor band :)
This piece is honestly my favorite I have ever played on my horn. The part is so fun!
How very Tichelli-esque, with some Mackey thrown in

I'm guessing one of your favorite composers is Peter Graham? ;)
Haha, I like Graham's music a lot and have even played a little of it in high school band. He's definitely in my top 10 list. :)
