Film Synopsis:
John Carpenter's Halloween scared the living daylights out of 25 million people and set a precedent in smashing box office records for a horror film. But the nightmare is just beginning... Picking up precisely where its predecessor left off, Halloween II follows the same ill-fated characters as they encounter the knife-wielding maniac they left for dead in the first Halloween. Halloween 2 is very underrated. It really does feel like a continuation of the original. Like a double feature. Watch the 1st one then this one. Very enjoyable and one of the better Halloween sequels

@@azimisyauqieabdulwahab9401 Debra Hill pretty much ran 80% of this production to the point of doubling as an AD. She was the highest authority after Akkad and DiLaurentis. Once she left, the franchise lost it's 'feel'. Carpenter half-ass wrote a script and reshot some gore scenes. I love JC, but damn, Debra Hill was a fucking legend and NEVER gets her due. Some bullshit.

I agree with you...and if you listen very closely, you can hear something that resembles an inner scream from Laurie's soul as she rushes to the front doors of the hospital.
The whole pop out and walk through the glass is real badass stuff - what a god damn badass - his ass is bad

I love that pause of shock Dr Loomis gives when he sees Michael kill the Marshall its been 15 years of having this patient in his care and that is the first time he saw him physically reanimate and show what he is capable of before his very eyes.
This Halloween is still better than the 2018-2022 installments. Classic!

He mentioned how there were at least like 6 people who played Michael in the original (Will Sandin, Nick Castle, Debra Hill, Jim Winburn, Tommy Lee Wallace, and Tony Moran) yet he played Michael in every shot of part 2 including the re-shot fall off the balcony (done by his friend Jim Winburn in part 1) as well as the fire walk at the end. He also plays the cop who hit Ben Tramer, and also was stunt coordinator on the film.

This is one of the greatest horror movie scenes of all time. Good to see it remastered in 4k.
The shot of The Shape/Michael Myers now a flaming apparition, walking directly towards Laurie like he sees her [ and appearing to still be holding the scalpel too] is pretty amazing. It's like after the explosion, Myers graduated from being a flesh & blood killer into a supernatural force. Interesting movie. I've always enjoyed it.
Thats what makes micheal so terrifying in this(edit I rewatched the movie and just seeing micheal walk out of the fire as this ghost entity is just horrifying like imagine you defeated that one boss by bombing it only to walk out as this burning apparition

Halloween II (1981) is absolutely and positivity one of the greatest movies in the franchise as it's such a excellent sequel on so many levels. The concept and theme was more darker, eerie, spooky, frightening, mysterious, thrilling, haunting, suspenseful, and creepier than the original 😰😱 which definitely and completely works perfectly for the movie. It was such a nail-biting and intense rollercoaster thrill ride as it kept me on the edge of my seat. 😰😱 It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍
One moment i appreciate every rewatch is the head-tilt at Laurie calling Michael by his name for the first time and catches him off guard. He stops, even for just a brief second, acknowledging his sister saying his name.
4:55 something darkly touching about this. His little sister reached him when nobody, not even Dr Loomis could. She made him 'feel' something.
I bet that something was deja-vu - after all, "Michael?!" was the last thing Judith said before he killed her.
I think that took away from who he was meant to be but yes.

Most fans consider Halloween II to be the 2nd best film of the entire franchise. Nothing will ever top the original though.
@@drlight6677 Yes, the original set the stage for the unstoppable killer, the dangerous man in a mask. But in H2, he just seems more ominous, more inhuman. Unlike in the original, we never see him during the daylight in this one, as it takes place completely at night. And unlike in the first film, Michael is stalking the unknowing staff of a sparsely populated hospital deep in the witching hours, whereas the original had him in the neighborhood. There were other people around. Here, you felt like the hospital was like an island with no one coming to help.

Not only was this the first Halloween movie I watched but it also got me into home theaters. My friends grandfather was an audiophile and we watched this right after trick or treating. I just remember how intense it was witnessing this on his 32” Mitsubishi TV and giant floor standing speakers. I’ll never forget that Halloween night.
I have no idea why there's so many comments about how this movie is "underrated". 9 out of 10 Halloween fans agree that this is the best sequel in the franchise.
Agreed. Tends to be the OG Halloween is always in first place and then Halloween 2 and Halloween 2018 are interchangeable for 2nd and 3rd place.

@@TheCultDc2 I feel the same way. Like H20, it's a bit basic as far as flashes go and there are a few elements that take away from Michael's scariness.

This film is the best Halloween 🎃 in the franchise my opinion! The way Myers moved and his mask was just freaky! Halloween 2 1981 definitely the best! He truly was the Boogeyman in this film!
Fun fact: Dick Warlock actually got burns on his arms from that fire stunt because of the metal zippers on his flame suit. Thankfully, traditional flame suits don’t have metal zippers anymore

That's the stuntman, indication of immediate drop and extinguishment
I mean micheal,s been locked up for 15 years so hes is like a man child
The moment with Laurie banging on the door for what seems to be an eternity with Michael stalking ever closer by the second is easily one of the most suspenseful moments of all 13 films (although I am not buying for a *second* that Loomis didn’t hear Laurie instantly since he wasn’t far from the doors).
Still the best sequel. None of that pale horse or "EVIL DIES TONIGHT" nonsense.
This is how Halloween ends for me. Nothing can get past fire.
I know it’s a dramatic scene but the noise Loomis makes at 6:49 always makes me laugh. That and the way he says “GetOutNow!” right afterward. Classic Dr. Loomis.

It’s Ashame they didn’t continue the anthology idea after this one. I liked the first 2 the best because he was like a normal man but than part 4 he turns into Jason and can’t die.
Halloween two is my favorite one in my opinion and even better than the first! Michael’s slow walk, overall creepiness, a dark abandoned hospital and the best music ever written for a film all makes for one hell of a legendary movie! Long live John carpenter!!
I love how this film continued to portray Michael as an unstoppable force and really earned the name the Boogeyman

I swear this is the hardest one to watch they never play it on TV anymore they used to always play this on tv during Halloween season
yes, they do. AMC tends to show it in October only it is hacked to shreds by cutting out the kill scenes, the really dirty words, and of course, Nurse Karen's breasts...pre & postmortem.
Such a brilliant scene from start to finish. Even the parts people try to pick apart, like Michael overly dramatic fall after being shot by Loomis (yeah genius, he's faking).
Then there's Loomis saying not to go near him because he's still breathing- which let Micheal know holding his breath would get the cop to come close enough to kill him. It's a little thing but it's the kind of good script writing you don't see much of anymore. Micheal also let the nurse go past him because she wasn't a threat, the cop was, which shows he's not the mindless "great white shark" killer later sequels claim he is but is instead a clever predator trying to kill his target.
Micheal's death scene will never be topped for a horror movie icon, he's a raging inferno yet still trying to get to his target and is only stopped when his physical ability to do so is destroyed. He doesn't need an explanation as to why he wants to kill Laurie, it's clearly beyond all reason and he probably doesn't even know.

Honestly, ignoring some details (the sibling thing namely) Halloween 1, Halloween 2, and Halloween 2018 is a pretty solid trilogy.

This was the best sequel in the series besides 2018 and H20. Firstly, the plot is simple and makes sense. Secondly, we learn more about each character; we delve deeper into Loomis’ obsession with Michael and see his determination to stop the “evil” within him, Michael’s insanity as he hunts for Laurie, and Laurie’s character- she’s clever and independent. It was good to learn more about each character because it further validated how evil and scary Michael was. And besides Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney, Dick Warlock was the best cast of Michael Myers in the whole franchise. Just the way he moved, his cunning, body language, everything was a perfect fit for Michael. Very good movie, well done. If only the Halloween ends sequel could have been similar to this…
When I was younger I always thought Michael Myers was still played by the same actor and didn't really question why in every film he would either get taller or shorter or buffer or skinnier.

7:03 the arrogant sway from Michael as he realizes it's over and that he lost. That it was all for nothing in the end because the kill he REALLY wanted was the person who outsmarted him. He doesn't go the grave satisfied that he re-created Judith's murder which was the whole point of escaping from Smiths Grove in the first place.

I was 9 years old when this movie came out. I went to go see another movie with my brother and his friend. After that movie (I don't remember what it was) we snuck into see this movie. I think I was traumatized by the first movie. The 2nd one was over the top for me at the time. I was certain for a while that Michael was going to pop out of my closet. Ever since then I will watch 1 and 2 back to back every few years. I don't know if there was anything like these 2 movies back then. They left a huge impression on me. I am still so intrigued by this ominous creature and was glad that they stopped him in the end, in a dramatic fashion. All the other movies after these 2 were just about kicking a dead horse to make money. They left no impression on me.
I thought the 4th movie was pretty great with Jamie Lloyd appearing to take up the Myers mantle in the end. The 5th was iconic for me as a kid but I later found out what a hot mess it is. Barely paid attention to any sequels after that, but the Rob Zombie and 2018 remakes each have their merits.

@@entertainmentwizard2703 They did. H20 is direct sequel to Halloween 2 and it was 20 years later. Halloween 2018 is direct sequel to Halloween 1978 and his left eye still damage but H20 his both eyes was perfect.

what i didnt like about the new trillogy is that their forgot that deep inside myers is still a human of flesh and bones , this ending is perfect about it even if the determination to end laurie is there his mortal body sucumbed to its wounds to remind us that he was just a mere human in the end
My Favourite Halloween Movie
Up to this point, Dr. Loomis had been lucky enough to not be directly in danger of being killed by Michael. In part 1 he had the upper hand in quickly shooting Michael. This is the first time that Michael goes after him , and he is in a place that he can't easily escape without facing Michael and risking his life.
