Your parents' garden center gets so many different and unusual varieties of plants. Some I have not seen before. Your mother does a great job of ordering different plants instead of the same old, same old varieties you see every year at the big box stores. I wish I lived around your area because I would go crazy buying many of the different varieties of herbs and flowers and the David Austen roses. Just a lovely selection to choose from. Happy Gardening!

Yes. Jealous. My local nurseries are in a rut of offering the same things from year to year, I think nurseries that are managed by a passionate gardener are better stocked.

I agree with Cynthia. I’ve given up trying to get them to order plants I’ve seen and just order directly from either PW or other nurseries. The sad thing is, it’s the nursery I go to is considered one of the best in the state. Go figure! They just have a very tight formula of items they order, and will not deviate from that. I know part of the family and I know that to be a fact.
Would love to go shopping with Laura sometime. The only problem is she’s on the West Coast and I am Midwest so I don’t see that ever happening.

A 35-minute long video is everything I have ever needed on this rainy, moody Friday! Thank you 😍🙏🏻
I rememer you wanted to add more groundcovers in your garden and recently I have watched another video here on youtube about shade loving plants and one of them was the Creeping Dogwood or Bunchberry. It is zone 2-7, it has this very fairy-like white blooms and it produces small clusters of orange-ish berries which can in some cases (depending on the species) be edible. Maybe a plant to consider? Also edit: the leaves turn this gorgeous red colour in the fall and the plant itself is a host for over 100 native insect species!
    Lots of love from Germany!

I am so envious! We don’t have a nursery that carries anywhere near the assortment of herbs and perennials. 😢

After starting a portage garden for my 83 year old mother and I too grow our own vegetables and flowers, it would be a big help to have a Aerobin Composter to create organic soil from yard clippings and weeding to keep raised beds at optimal levels with the added benefit of saving on soil purchase.
Dreaming BIG, hoping to save up for a greenhouse just like or a little bigger one that Laura installed at her sister-in-laws home, too to winterize some citrus and other trees that cannot withstand cold GA winters.

Russell is a rascal, so funny. Your parent's garden center is amazing, you are lucky, we don't have any even close in our area. Your figs rooted beat. Have a blessed day

I’m loving the shopping trip today! The local nurseries here won’t be open for a long time yet. Our Zone 4 garden, still tucked under its winter blanket, just received a few more inches of snow, and they predict five to eight inches tonight. So it’s great to get a garden center fix, while we are still in the middle of our winter! Thank you!

Silas Marner! My kids read that book. It was a sad story, in my opinion. Beautiful rose!

Love this shopping trip to Andrews Garden Center. So much variety of herbs, what a wonderful selection all wanting to come home with you. Loved Monica popping in. Wished I could smell them too. Had to laugh after the Russell welcome to the new plants. He was evaluating your selection. It's so heartwarming to spot an Orange Cat napping in the background. Should have got Russell the Catnip. Congrats on the Fig success, they look so good. Just a Really Great Video to wake up to, made me Smile. 🌿🌱🪴🐈😻😍

I'm Latvian/American and we eat Sorel ALLOT. It add allot to soups and salads with a lemony flavor. You can steam it and put in jars for winter for your soups.

Over 2 years ago I tried rooting 25 fig cuttings. Some were pretty ugly but 8 rooted and grew! That is such a great day when they reach that point. I gave 5 away and planted 3 and they are now a regular star of my monthly garden tours!!! ❤🎉🎉❤😊
