Hello I am a man that got taught the basics of sewing from my grandmother. So I picked the Brother LX 3817 G. The main reason I picked this machine was price. It will do all your basic sewing needs. I will say that I am going to attempt to sew a blanket for my grandkids. I don't think I can do a quilt. Thank You for helping me pick my machine.🙂
This is still my favorite machine. And, don't sell yourself short on a quilting project. Here's one I do all the time that kids love. ruclips.net/video/5NnouujpNlM/видео.html Thanks for watching!
It's so unfortunate that in my country, I can only buy a Singer brand and nothing else! There are so many brands in other country and I envy others who can have more than 1 or 2 machines! I'm a beginner but Im quite passionate with sewing that I can only learn thru RUclips! Thanks to you and to the other sewing vloggers that Im learning a lot from you guys! Thank you!
I just picked up a used Singer 3337 for cheap at a resale shop and I’ve been using it nonstop. It seems to work great, but the thread is a little hard to remove sometimes. Good machine so far though
This was a really great video. New subscriber, crafter, and sewer here and I enjoyed how you broke everything down. It's appreciated, thanks for sharing.
Thank you 👍 😊 💓 I will buy the singer simple 3337 it's at Walmart near me I'm a beginner in sewing I hope to see more videos on sewing with you 🙏 soon 💕
Thanks this was helpful. I have the Singer Heavy Duty 4432 and it will sew through anything. I also was given the Singer Patchwork which is also a good machine but for heavy thick projects the Heavy Duty is best. I also have a Viking sort of computerized, you have to put in these card things and then push the button, it's over 30 years old. It's a very heavy machine but not so great on the newer fabrics, they didn't make these kinds of fabrics back then but it works very good. I was raised on Singers so that is always my go to brand. With the Heavy Duty I made a jelly roll rug which is thick with no problems at all. I see that you can now buy an extension to make the bed larger which is very helpful for large projects, but it even without the extra extension, it does have a very good bed which is removable to make it a free arm. I've owned several other mechanical machines and the Heavy Duty is by far the best choice not as cute as some of the others but it also doesn't dance around the table when you sew something.
One thing I would have liked to have heard on your review is which machines have a free arm. These are really useful for sewing things like cuffs and sleeves and whilst it isn't impossible without one having one certainly makes sewing easier.
The Singer 4452 gets my vote. I need a backup for my primary machine and its computerized version, the Singer Heavy Duty Model 6800c, might be the winner with 300 built-in stitches and much more. For around $299.00, no rush. It sews at 1,100 stitches per minute like my great primary machine.
New subscriber & sewer here 😂 I like the brother aqua ( the 1st one) the best. I make junk journals & will do an occasional hem or button. Thank you for making this video. It has helped me alot!
Mom please move your camera closer In coming videos 🥺 if you don’t mind I will be commenting as a daughter Cause your channel is now my comfort place ☺️
I really appreciate that you did this.Whule the Brother XM 2701 is my dream machine, the LX 3817 is signififcantly quieter.I like that you addressed why the Brother XM 2701 is more expensive.I wanted to see what forgoing the more expensive preference would mean for me when compared to the cheaper Brother LX3817.
Thank you Mom for the video, you have some very nice sewing machines. I have the first aqua color brother and the singer simple and i love them both. I wish i had that singer heavy duty i have heard its just awsome. Enjoy your machines and Happy Holiday 💖
I’m sure you could. A lot depends on what kind and how many layers. But, you shouldn’t have any problems with a couple of layers of regular denim, especially if you use a denim needle. Hope that helps!
I am actually doing a new version comparing 13 different machines. It will be finished tomorrow. I’ll post the link when it’s uploaded. Thanks for watching!
I am considering the Singer HD4452 since my old second hand 30+ year old Singer broke. My question is do all these beginner level machines have the same throat space? Is it a standard width if the machine isn't geared toward quilting? Thank you for your wonderful videos, your math teacher skills are evident with your clear explanations and presentation. Really helpful videos!
The standard machines are all pretty close. Most of the time the specifications will tell the throat space, usually as distance from floor to arm and needle to side. I'm so glad the videos are helpful! Thank you for watching!!!

Can u sew denim w/the brother XM2701?

Hello! What machine do you recommend for beginners like me? Something that’s durable and that will last. Thanks in advance
