I like how in Toy story 1, Buzz says "The terrain seems, unstable." and he says the same thing about the uncharted planet they get stuck on. He also mentions in Toy Story 1 that, "There seems to be no signs of intelligent life." then gets scared by his (soon to be) best friend Woody, and in Lightyear he gets scared by his best friend as well!
Remember, every day he went up into space for 4 minutes, 4 years passed on T'kani. So if he went up at least 16 times, that would mean only at least 16 days passed for Buzz, but 64 years passed for everyone else. Time dilation is brutal. Edit: I just remembered that each time he went up into space, the XL ship went up in number. So, since his last ship was XL-15, that means he took 15 trips, 14 of them were 4 minutes/4 years long, and the last one was 22 years long.

My friend and I LOVED this movie when we saw it in theaters. We were also so shocked by the Zurg reveal too. The beginning honestly made me cry a little bit. Its really heavy when you think about it. Seeing your best friend and everyone you know age? I'm a lesbian and I wasn't shocked by all the homophobia that I saw online. But then when I saw the scenes in the movie, I was like "you homophobes are riled up over a 0.4 second kiss? ☠️". The couple was lovely. They raised a son together and made it to over 40 years! I don't know many married couples that made it to 40 years. It was such a small part of the movie too. After the movie ended my friend was like "Where was the kiss? I was expecting some grand magical kissing scene based on all the hate". It was literally a kiss that most parents share together. A peck on the lips. Also, more than likely got pregnant through a sperm donor. It's a crazy futuristic thing. Straight couples pes get sperm/egg donors as well when there's issues. If a child is too young to understand the process of pregnancy, you can use the same lie you would tell them when a husband and wife get pregnant. Like a stork put it in my belly or whatever. I felt like this movie wasn't a movie that super young kids would enjoy. Just because it had a pretty serious tone overall. Or maybe they would only pay attention to the second half of the movie. But overall, it's a great movie and I enjoyed watching a second time through you!
This is a cool little easter egg, at 20:45 in the bottom left corner you can see WALL-E in his box form :) Also, the ship Buzz and his team fly off in at the end is based off the box Buzz came inside of in Toy Story
This movie got banned in over 20 countries worldwide due to the lesbian kissing scene. It also boned at the box office, making $220 million dollars against a $200 million dollar budget.
Jeez.......no wonder it did so poorly. Backlash in the form of countries banning it because of that scene caused it to flop. I understand it was for religious reasons, but that's really sad.
12:38 OMG THANKYOU! To those readings this If you are one of the individuals who hates this movie due of a 30 second LGBT scene. Grow up, no one asked you for your opinion, so just keep it to yourself.
In Toy Story, Lightyear was a successful trilogy so we hope that we can see it too. There was another post credits scene showing that old Buzz was still alive
I saw this movie along with my client day service in June and I loved it. Tim Allen would be proud of Chris Evans for playing as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger of Star Command. Also *TODAY IS MY 26TH BIRTHDAY ON THE 5TH OF AUGUST!!!!!!* 😄
The jetpack was in a way a parachute like in fighter jet and the raspberry thing was used in ships for a mars mission I believe. I loved this movie and it didn't deserve the hate others gave it.
I’m going to be watching this film for the first time tonight, (will watch your reaction after) I’m looking forward to it especially as someone who loves buzz and the Tory story films, plus Sox looks so cute and funny. Flim looks amazing and fun to watch and the soundtrack for the movie sounds good, wonder how many references and what emotions I’ll feel with this movie. “To infinite and beyond” 🚀🌌🐈💫
I see this movie totally different from the Toy Story ones, and it was perfect for a character like Buzz Lightyear. The concept that Buzz's biggest enemy was himself, was really beautiful. I really hope we get a sequel that actually reveals the real Alien Zurg.
Also, I want to say Thank-You for uploading this, Cody. I am sick with COVID-19, and I wanted to let you know that this upload really made my day. Thanks so much.
I watched the movie yesterday on its release, and ive not been keeping up with the debate over whether its good or bad, but i thought it was pretty good. the references were great, buzz felt very much like buzz with his mannerisms and the way he speaks. the concept was unique, for me, and i loved the characters. Mo (think that was his name) and his pen was honestly one of my favourite things, wouldnt have been the same without it LMAO. yeah, i laughed a few times, loved Sox, i just genuinely liked the movie, imo. great reaction!
I liked the movie for its storyline and action and adventure, my sister didn’t like it because of the lesbian scene, but that’s her problem. But she was surprised at the Zurg reveal.

What i loved the most in this movie was Sox. He reminded me so much og Baymax. And now Baymax has competition in being Pixar’s nr 1 helping companion robot Oh. Another note. And a second one right after the pixar logo which is a first, i’m not gonna say what it is cause it would be kinda obvious what the final post credit scene is
I don't think people hated the movie because of LGBT representation, but because they were dissapointed with Zurg just being Buzz, which includes me, I was dissapointed as well, but if people were to only criticize the whole movie based on 30 sec of LGBT, then something's very wrong...
@@ItsTotallyCody That they criticize the LGBT part? Probably a bunch of religious parents if I had to guess...See it's stuff like this that make me loose faith in humanity, like Parents see two women kiss in a kids movie and they act like their childrens future is on the line, like seriously, don't they have anything else to be worried about...And no I haven't read any reviews cause I'll probably just get more upset...
Is this film best by Pixar? No, but hate is unjustified and I don't know how this film go so low score but it deserves a lot more. I can relate this film and maybe that's why? I enjoyed this film. And this film made me think myself. I am very much like Buzz when it comes to mistake. i also think Alisha is greatest character Pixar has created while. She is strong, compassionate, brave, selfless teacher and friend. Her being lesbian should not matter but personally I am glad Pixar made her lesbian and showed the kiss. This is milestone film for Pixar, that is for sure. It will most like live up as New Cars. That will divide Pixar fans deeply.
Honestly the movie was fun and easy to enjoy and the hate on the kiss scene was too much the kiss was short and the couple barley had screen time together I forgot they shared a kiss halfway through the movie loved your reaction
Exactly what I was gonna say about the kiss scene. It was only 2 seconds! People are making a huge fuss over a 2 second scene. Overreaction, am I right?
The jetpack is part of the ejector that was in the ship Can’t really eject yourself if you’re just gonna be thrown into space so that’s why there’s wings and rocket boosters
37:44 - 38:01 So how exactly does a woman in a lesbian relationship get pregnant? I feel like you didn't make a good argument or a logical point here, all you said was: "You guys need to get a life for yourselves! Grow up!" That's some respectful way to handle the fiery controversy.
12:36, Even though I was never really apart of the LGBTQ+ Community to begin with in my Lifw (probably because I had a very Innocent mind and had no idea it was a thing until later on when I slowly starting to be aware of it being a thing), People shouldn't get THIS upset over a TV Show or Movie trying to get away with a harmless scene like this or try to tackle something very serious that we can all somewhat related to the Victims going through with these type of Phases or at least something else, if you get what I'm trying to say right now and you do have a fair point about that, even if you might be apart of the Community either like me for example. Not to mention other Movies and TV Shows can have some Odd Scenes here and there that might not even be THAT offensive to begin with.
You know what I think how Buzz got the Tim Allen voice we know and love? This movie was probably in Buzz's early career. And as time went on, and he rose through the ranks, Buzz eventually gained the deep voice of Tim Allen. The amount of backlash over that kiss scene made me angry. It was only 2 seconds. I understand why some people were weirded out by it, but that amount of backlash was a huge overreaction in my book.
Man, kids today have it easy if you expect the sound clip on a toy to actually sound like the actor from the movie. I got a talking Randall figure from Monsters Inc that sounded like Wallace Shawn more than Steve Buscemi.
i love this movie and it was so great i'm glad pixar gave a movie about buzz btw there is a monster inc disney plus show call monsters at work which is fun ti watch and on sept 6 pixar is releasing cars on the road which i'm hyped for next pixar movie is elemental
Glad you were able to get way more enjoyment out of this movie than I did. Personally, I thought it was boring and frustrating, with a good chunk of the plot being ripped from other movies and the Zurg twist feeling pretty shallow imo. Also Taika Watiti's character really annoyed me with how much he kept screwing up. The only thing I liked about the film was Sox, the rest was a total snore-fest. But again, glad you were able to have fun with it. Also, I'd recommend checking out the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command movie, that one's really campy and fun ^v^
i just realized that it was Chris Evans who was Buzz XD and yeah people were throwing a huge fit at that lesbian scene but i wasnt one of them i enjoyed this movie
Like I said, I saw this movie in theaters twice. Sadly, I fear it might be the last Pixar movie I may have the chance to see in theaters, so I might as well live it up a little. But yes, I think it's the most entertained I've been by a Pixar film in years, probably since Inside Out even. I still love Coco more because of its emotional value, but I think this one is slightly more fun.

One of my favorite parts about Lightyear was the music. Composer Michael Giacchino had done it again in the music department. The music here is a fun little treat from start to finish. It ranges from epically and heroically triumphant to bombastically cinematic. It knows when to go crazy and knows when to calm the listener. The stars of the show here is mostly the strings and brass. The percussions and drums have a kind of marching vibe, giving it a kind of militant/army-ish thing going on. Like you’re going on a mission or a space adventure. The music is theatrical and dramatic but also balances out serene, sublime and atmospheric moments. When it gets to the calmer parts, you feel relaxed and it’s nice and subtle. It doesn’t go too overboard at all. I really enjoy how playful and semi-romantic these parts feel. At other times, it’s got quite a lot of dissonant and creepy parts as well. Particularly with the amount of tremolo violin strings found here, which I love! The cues for Emperor Zurg are deliciously evil and intense, worthy of such a character. Particularly whenever you hear the choirs. They go all out and crazy. That’s when you know something is about to go down. Another thing I enjoyed about the soundtrack is how consistent it is as well. You hear the Buzz theme alot in the music. You hear elements of the first two Toy Story films, UP, Star Trek, Rogue One, Planet of the Apes, Spider-Man and The Batman all mixed in. Which is a nice little collection. What’s also nice is that it continues the Giacchino tradition of having witty and wacky puns of the cue tracks that the composer is known for, which makes him stand out from the rest. Giacchino needs a break. Dude has been at it like crazy this year alone lol.

OMG you have sharp eyes! That is awesome!
I loved Lightyear! it was a very interesting movie to watch especially all the parts where Buzz traveled to the future.
You should also check the original Buzz Lightyear movie out too it's pretty good
This movie got banned in over 20 countries worldwide due to the lesbian kissing scene. It also boned at the box office, making $220 million dollars against a $200 million dollar budget.
Damn
Jeez.......no wonder it did so poorly. Backlash in the form of countries banning it because of that scene caused it to flop.
I understand it was for religious reasons, but that's really sad.
@@GracemarieJohnson2763 Nah, the film itself was pretty bland, boring, and forgettable
12:38 OMG THANKYOU! To those readings this If you are one of the individuals who hates this movie due of a 30 second LGBT scene. Grow up, no one asked you for your opinion, so just keep it to yourself.
I agree! 100%!
Y'know if Disney didn't do any of this, we wouldn't be having this controversy.
@@jwroot And who asked you?
In Toy Story, Lightyear was a successful trilogy so we hope that we can see it too. There was another post credits scene showing that old Buzz was still alive
Knowing that this film bombed, anymore sequels are unlikely
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Cody: "All these years you had him and you didn't know that?"
To be fair, Buzz only knew Sox for a few days
That wilhelm scream moment was the moment we saw Andy watching in the Toy Story 3 recording camera opening I think-
Lightyear was a great movie but idk why people were so mad about the kiss scene
Homophobes and Christians
Me neither
The best part of the movie was when Buzz blows the auto-pilot like a NES cartdrige.
So what did you think? It was good right
@@captaincrystal3705 yep I love that movie.
I see this movie totally different from the Toy Story ones, and it was perfect for a character like Buzz Lightyear. The concept that Buzz's biggest enemy was himself, was really beautiful. I really hope we get a sequel that actually reveals the real Alien Zurg.
This film made me feel like a kid again
And yes that reveal flipped my mind!
Also, I want to say Thank-You for uploading this, Cody. I am sick with COVID-19, and I wanted to let you know that this upload really made my day. Thanks so much.
Oof, feel better soon! 👍
@@mottdropsie Thanks. I’m trying to get better
@@mottdropsie I’m better now.
Do you know when you will react to Minions The Rise Of Gru with it being on Prime Video for Rent Cody, oh by the way, To Infinity and Beyond, I’m with you with watching this movie just because of Chris Evans no matter how this movie turns out
You should definitely react to Minions: The Rise of Gru (it's now streaming).
Also, (as usual) may u please post the full film on Patron, and the RUclips cut on RUclips?
I didn't really like this film too much but I'm glad you did Cody it's your opinion that's all that matters

Thank you. As a reviewer I tried to respect all people's opinions. Also you should check out some of mine reviews I've done on Pixar
@@Dashiell777 i defiantly will check them out
I don't hate the movie because of the kiss. I hate the movie as a Buzz fan. They really screwed up this film. They managed to scree up Buzz and Zurg
I'm here bitches love this movie and the reactions
I saw this in theatre last week and I was the only one in the auditorium, so I could scream myself when I was seeing the climax.
What i loved the most in this movie was Sox. He reminded me so much og Baymax. And now Baymax has competition in being Pixar’s nr 1 helping companion robot
Oh. Another note. There’s 2 more post credits. One after the credits with that robot who tried to navigate. And a second one right after the pixar logo which is a first, i’m not gonna say what it is cause it would be kinda obvious what the final post credit scene is
I was loving the movie for the visuals, Sox and the other characters. I just wish Buzz was more personified though
I don't think people hated the movie because of LGBT representation, but because they were dissapointed with Zurg just being Buzz, which includes me, I was dissapointed as well, but if people were to only criticize the whole movie based on 30 sec of LGBT, then something's very wrong...
yea that is literally what happened. look up reviews by parents and you will understand why I said that.
You should react to the baymax series
Buzz didn't have the jetpack the whole movie. It attached to him from the cockpit seat. And no. That isn't Izzy's father. Different last name.
I loved Lightyear! It was a good movie when I saw it. Lightyear was a good movie of 2022.
@@GracemarieJohnson2763 Agreed, it was overblown
But the film itself was pretty underwhelming, I can see why it flopped from that perspective
"Chris Evans is Buzz Lightyear, and that's ALL that I care about."
Zero mention on the absence of Tim Allen, the original Buzz Lightyear.
The jetpack is part of the ejector that was in the ship
Can’t really eject yourself if you’re just gonna be thrown into space so that’s why there’s wings and rocket boosters
37:44 - 38:01
So how exactly does a woman in a lesbian relationship get pregnant?
I feel like you didn't make a good argument or a logical point here, all you said was: "You guys need to get a life for yourselves! Grow up!" That's some respectful way to handle the fiery controversy.
This movie was just released in Disney+ yesterday! My favorite character is Sox!
“How does a cat know about this”…. It’s a robot lol
LOL
I really love this movie 33:40 is my favorite part and call it when buzz said that line
Zurg's robot's are called "Hornet's" and if you never seen the Buzz Lightyear tv show you would know Zurg is a human in a robot suit.
In this movie, they are called Zyclops
Loved This Movie Alongside Turning Red!👍
Sox was the funniest part of this movie
That little money maker carried the whole movie.
Wow your Buzz impression at 1:28 when you said "This is Star Command!" was spot on LMFAO 🤣👏🏻
i love this movie and it was so great i'm glad pixar gave a movie about buzz
btw there is a monster inc disney plus show call monsters at work which is fun ti watch and on sept 6 pixar is releasing cars on the road which i'm hyped for
next pixar movie is elemental
Glad you were able to get way more enjoyment out of this movie than I did. Personally, I thought it was boring and frustrating, with a good chunk of the plot being ripped from other movies and the Zurg twist feeling pretty shallow imo. Also Taika Watiti's character really annoyed me with how much he kept screwing up. The only thing I liked about the film was Sox, the rest was a total snore-fest. But again, glad you were able to have fun with it. Also, I'd recommend checking out the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command movie, that one's really campy and fun ^v^
Same here
It wasn’t the worst Pixar film I’ve seen but it was more boring and forgettable than anything
100% agree. Even some of the people at Pixar feel a similar way.
Never seen lightyear yet it just came out on desney plus and you should react to pepterpan for your next desney movie

can you watch and cool and creepy movie called the 9 movie.
When you have a large ship of people and nothing much to do youd be surprised what you can accomplish in a year.
Cody! You missed the SECOND scene that played after the credits finished rolling!!!!
HE LIVES
Can't wait for him to be set up as the villain for the second movie, only to get taken out by the REAL Zerg at the halfway point.
3:51 Wilhelm Scream
Like I said, I saw this movie in theaters twice. Sadly, I fear it might be the last Pixar movie I may have the chance to see in theaters, so I might as well live it up a little. But yes, I think it's the most entertained I've been by a Pixar film in years, probably since Inside Out even. I still love Coco more because of its emotional value, but I think this one is slightly more fun.
It’s my favorite movie after Soul and Coco
I love at the ending, the ship they're all in looks like the cardboard space ship that buzz is in when Andy gets him for his birthday!
Sorry I kept going back to your bf texting you, it makes me happy
You didn't seem to see the end credit scene where Zurg mech woke up.
I have never seen this movie but I am going to go with what you say and not what the hates say
