    I just talked to Stephen from Tim's Boots about getting my hands on some Black Jacks. Fantastic experience, and they can do much more than I even realized.
    I talked to him about putting a custom stitch pattern and braided scallop on a pair of mad dogs to create what I would consider an ultimate classic cowboy boot with some personality and soul.
    The customer service was fantastic, and he took the time to help me decide on what suited my needs best while also sharing some of his knowledge and experience with the brand. Some serious eye-openers. I love when people are willing to actually talk with their customers, and share their knowledge. Makes you feel so much more confident in doing business with them!

    Def agree with the Assessment of the bandera by tecovas. I’ve owned the pair I’m actually currently wearing for about 6-8 months now and while the ropers from tecovas were more annoying to get off and on(shank difference makes it insanely hard to get the foot into the boot it’s crazy) the bandera is def less comfortable than I expected after my first pair were so comfortable. (First pair the wife bought me was full quill ostrich and fit perfectly out of the box and I adore them).

    I must say just wow, I usually don't watch this kind of stuff because being born and raised a Nebraska Sandhills cowboy, I often think what the heck does this guy know about boots or what ever cowboy clothing they are reviewing. lol yep I'm a bit closed minded, but I'm glad I watched this, best pair of boots I ever owned and loved was a pair of Hondo's from 30 years ago and put 3 set's of souls on them and they day they were just plain wore out was a sad day. I thought Hondo had went out of business from the brothers fight of one wanting to keep them in Texas and the other wanting to move them to Mexico so to hear they are still in business makes me happy happy! only down side is the dam ugly square toe that most of the boot companies are still ramming down our traditional cowboy's throats thanks Ariat Not. Oh dam look there I go rambling anyway thanks for a great review from someone that actually seems to know boots! I'd like to know more about Fenoglio Boots, I watched a vid on them seems traditionally made and made in Nocona, Texas.

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! So glad you enjoyed watching. I love Hondos. Such a great value. They were always made in Mexico they just moved from getting the boots made in Juarez to Leon even though their HQ was in El Paso and when that disagreement happened a salesman for Hondo split off and started Honcho boots. Honcho have many of the same looking styles as Hondo still today only they are made in El Paso instead. Hondo is making quite a comeback under the founder's son Fil Guijarro Jr and 2021 was a great year for them. They are really hustling. You'll see them around much more in the years to come.

Need some advice from a master, picked up a vintage pair of all suede justin boots that were never work on eBay (their very nice leather insole and leather lining) but they weren’t properly stored and the suede is stiff as hell and getting out of them is a pain, got any break in advice for stiff dried out suede justins? Thanks!

    My challenge is the break in period. I have bought caiman and leather and they stay too stiff. I'm looking for a soft leather that I can wear with business professional attire. I'm getting 2nd hand Lucchese ostrich, those look promising, but wondering what exotics offer same level of soft leather.

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад

      Hey Javi! Caiman can be very stiff. Especially the back and tail cuts because there are bones in the actual leather. Ostrich is a very supple leather which needs very little break in. Other supple leathers are pirarucu, water buffalo calf, regular calf, kangaroo, and caiman belly cut is more supple than the other caiman cuts.

    I have a question Jeremiah, I am a 11 D width for R toe boots and I want to get a snip toe pair. If I buy them should I get a 11 EE width because I’m afraid they’ll be to tight on me since it is a pointier toe shape and much more narrow. If you could get back to me with your advice I’d really appreciate it!! Thanks!

  • @scottwexlin6456
    @scottwexlin6456 2 года назад +2

    I’m surprised JW boot didn’t rank higher. I really like both my pairs, the ostrich, and the bull hide. Traditionally made, semi custom sizing available, along with a nice carrying case that I got this year for the Bullhide. They fit well, and wearing nicely. Considering their modest price, I think they should’ve ranked much higher.

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад +4

      I get it! I love what JW Boot Company is doing. They were in a 4 way tie at 15 total points and could've been as high as the 9 spot but the semi custom sizing hasn't worked well for me and the cloth part of their non removable insole does hurt their rankings since it's already starting to fray in the red caimans I reviewed last year. Don't get me wrong, I think they doing a great job otherwise and have amazing options. I just think that the others in that 4 way tie would last longer with the way that I wear boots.
