@@margaretsullivan you may not want to invest in a new or vintage instrument with traditional concertina reeds unless you are a seasoned player, they are very expensive. Lovely affordable hybrid instruments (such as the Rochelle) are perfectly fine to learn on and even to take along to a session. Some argue that they sound better too… I play a Morse Ceìlì, and it’s beautiful. Sure I would like a Jeffries, but they start at £5000

Thinking of buying a concertina. Does this instrument have accordion or concertina reeds? Accordion reeds are not suitable for Irish trad music.
