Correction. Your first image of the peninsula in blue is NOT South Korea but South and north Korea combined. In addition, that particular image coloured in blue is a symbol of reunification which some communist sympathizing South Koreans were using as a symbol for their politics. However, that symbol and the idea of reunification is an insult to the majority of South Koreans these days.
South Korea and the north are separate and very different countries. We are so different (separated and no contact, exchange for nearly 80 years) that many feel we no longer have the same DNA.
Contemporary South Korea is based on Democracy while the north are communists run by a autocratic regime. Yes, our fashions among other things would be most different. Since your video is talking about South Korean fashion, this point ought to be made very clear.

I'm sorry but I dont get the appeal of korean fashion brands, is there really any longevity? do they compete with the top quality and hold value? I've seen people go into the Japanese brands trend and then now the Korean brands trend and it all gets left in the bottom of the closet in a few years. Its hard for me to stray away from wearing my favorites; chrome (leather clothes & bags, jewelry), loro piana (cashmere pieces), the row (tailoring) and vintage levis. Nothing's been able to top those for a while.
The appeal is for most of these brand from designs and branding vision. I own several garments from different brands, and let me break it to you : it absolutely doesn’t hold up quality wise, I’ve started to overlook everything “made in Korea” now, since most of them are just terribly bad. The online community often praise these brands but actually never experienced them in real life/worn them, just through social media which leads to a biased perception. And prices are excessively high for the provided quality.
I found it pretty funny PAF wanting to make “archive of the future” but their clothes actually don’t last a few months 😂
@@JeuneF The vision is interesting but pushing made in Korea is kind of a joke as of lately. Seeing PAF go on sale alot. But I do agree, most people praising it never actually own it. Admiring the vision is fair enough though!

first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Korean Fashion is their streetwear, rather than their technical stuff tbh. Good video nonetheless, gave me a different view
I think this is kinda given because of the hallyu wave aka the kpop wave. With the advent of k-pop, people notice their fashion, dramas, food and culture more.
I'm from the Philippines,but I work behind the scenes for kpop labels as a freelancer. I've noticed that Vietnam is actually popping off for womenswear. I've seen K-pop idols and hollywood celebs wear Vietnamese brands, like Fanci Club. Vietnam is the underrated player in Asia right now.
