This one hit different damn. ''You're not going to fail I have to be in business with you''. When you leave that kind of impression on someone and they decide to invest/believe in you, that alone is enough motivation to achieve greatness. I got shivers from that line alone
Her polite persistence and excellent communication literally sealed that deal. Any other entrepreneur would have stopped at that point and walked out the door in disappointment. But she KNEW what she wanted and she knew how far to push it without overstaying her welcome. She brought that deal back from the dead. Very impressive
I'm so glad Daymond offered her a deal because I have a feeling she wasn't gonna go out without a fight I was starting to worry for the Sharks safety😂😂
How could you bet against her? She was intelligent, persistent, and was willing to take on all the risk to get what she wanted. People like this in business and in life are insanely rare to find. When you find one, you don’t let them get away.
half of growing a business is the relationships you dont have and take time to get. the money is important but that phone call you cant make or take 6 months to get a return call will be the difference between failing and building a good business
This is probably one of my favorite all time scenes of shark tank !!!! What a true fighter !!!! Very strong and admirable lady !!! I really hope her business works!
Reminds me of what Jesus said, " though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him...as he needs."
It's basically what they call in Dragon's Den a "Punt". He basically threw them a bone because he knows he'll at least get his money back from the revenue generated from what they make just from being on this show.
He doesn’t know that he’ll get his money back. What he does know is he made them feel better about their sacrifice while they were on TV to make the show look good and then let the deal fall through in Due Diligence. If they research shows the company is strong, he at least has a de-risked agreement.
Omg I know her! The Vietnamese community knows her because she was a mc for a show. Hearing more of her background and her current company now impresses me so much
One of the best pitches I’ve ever seen. Not because the product is great or they excelled at presenting it, but because she was so tenacious that she forced herself to win a deal. No one should ever bet against her.
Absolutely remarkable. I am so proud of her. She is relentless yet so humble and grateful by nature. I am left speechless. You are amazing! And hubby seems so genuine and supportive. ❤️
It's clear that, Daymond just realised that if he don't help them, he will feel sorry for them later and he decided to go on a humanity side rather than on money side. God bless you Daymond.
What was great about this pitch was it was a deeply emotional one but without the melodrama...no crying or pleading like some other entrepreneurs have done...pitch was emotional and Daymond's decision was also an emotional one...but no melodrama hence its great to watch.
Although she kept interrupting everyone while speaking, i admire the dedication, she went above & beyond and even when it got really dark she didnt quit. She's gonna win big if she keeps that spirit.
She interrupted bcos she knew everyone were eventually gonna say they were out. And the sharks obviously got fed up and immediately said so. She tried to prevent it but couldn't.
Oh my God I hate how she kept interrupting everybody but she knew this was her one chance. I guess she did it in the most graceful way because I thought they were about to get pissed
It's actually a good retail product for kids, including the packing. It's just a matter of getting it into major retailers like Macy's, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's.
That gave me the confidence to keep working on my products , because nobody makes my 2 different products so my thing is now keep going to I perfect them ! I love this show and I thank this young lady for her persistence and not giving up ! And I hope they do outstanding on their business !
I loved her energy and relentless persistance! But as someone who's had a shoe company before, I don't think she completely solved the problem she said she identified - kids outgrow their shoes so quickly. The decorations are cute, but they don't really solve the problem. Me, as a parent, will still need to spend more money on a brand new pair.
The problem she solves is using a pair of shoes one or twice before the kid outgrows them, with her shoes accessories you can now use it more supposedly.
Wow, That was impressive!! I have never seen anyone in the history of Shark Tank fight like that!! She got the victory with her back up against the ropes for the whole episode almost!!
When DJ went out I knew everyone else would follow, I've seen so many shoe business pitches that I even know they're not worth investing in, got to admit though, I had to shed a tear of joy when DJ jumped back in and offered them a straight up equity deal.
this is important for every business during startup, don't be greedy, be persistent, take a deal which is not profitable (but covers the costs in short term and increase future cash flow) and there will be always a nice guy like Daymond John to come to rescue.
That brought tears to my eyes. Her push her strength is a lesson for all of us. She wasn’t rude but she was very determined to not just say ah well. If I can an ounce of what she’s made of, I’ll be insanely successful. I wasn’t even convinced about the product but listening to her she thinking about her commitment to get a deal, sheesh. I’m ready to buy. That was… amazing.
I love her story and had to watch again. it took me a while to figure out this shoe. Their basically crocs for girls & their moms. A shoe a lot of people wear everyday and decorate with charms.
I really feel for her, but the concept of $50 shoes for little kids breaks my brain, even if you're "saving" by being able to reuse the baubles when you size up. I remember going to Payless for cute $14 shoes whenever I outgrew a pair. At the end of the day, this is just a different style of Crocs with Jibbitz
This is one of the most persistent entrepreneur ever but not annoying in the slightest, she shows passion and dedication for her craft and those traits alone could make her successful no doubt😇
Barbara bursts through the doors, out of breath from evading security: “I came here on my day off to let you know that I love your product, and for that reason I’m out.”

"Can we de-risk it?" was the turning point and a great seller's pitch

It was the plan if they all said “no.”
Or I think she wanted to make a counter offer

Well the business is not really sellable, but SHE was definitely worth investing for her perseverance and motivation.

She actually wanted a partner. Most just want exposure.
Master class on how to navigate the shark tank. You said it perfectly
She's a fantastic salesperson... won't take a "no" for an answer without appearing too pushy. She's a star. Her husband is a lucky man.
