Pete is plainly a genius if he's playing a song multiple ways during a concert. Or he's just so adept, and in tune with his guitar as an extension of himself, that he can play parts of a song with different "voices".
Lots of chords! I started figuring it out an got thru the pre-chorus an just about lost it! It could be worse, I could be back in the late 80’s early 90’s hittin the rewind button an wearin out the tape, like I used to! Cool, thanks much!
@James James. James, thank you so much for putting up another Pete Townshed/Who song. I've always admired Pete because of his style of playing and because he's always been able to produce some of Rock's Best Music & yes, I've watched a few concert video's, where he plays it differently, (But always 100% Great.) Even when I'm messing around in my guitar/music room playing some of my favorite Zeppelin Tunes, But I always end my practicing sessions with The Who... I sometimes can hear my wife comment while on the phone with a phone friend, or when she's just sitting having coffee in our kitchen say, ''Dan's playing Who Songs now'' to one of her phone friends, or she'll just say to me, ''Hey Hon, That's The Who Isn't It.'' Even she knows that when it comes to The Who, I automatically play harder & sometimes louder. With all that said, I have to give you a Great big Thank You James.... Thank you again for uploading this tune.. I hope that your rotator has healed 100%, (An accident in 1991 still causes me a lot of grief & pain because of a doctor who wasn't the best one I should have had back then.) Also, I hope that all is going Well With You & Your Terrific Wife. God Bless You & Your Wife.... MD..... Oh before I forget, JJ, You're Such A Great Help With Your Talent & Ability To Explain What's-What With Every Lesson You Share... You're The Best Buddy, The Very Best............MD.....
Great job, Ive messed around with this song in the past, now that you’ve made it a lot less complicated than I did I can get back on it. Thanks, keep em comin, great stuff
Hi JJ…..just been watching your crop of vids of The Who with your new and old Schecter PTs looking at the ones for sale in the UK the one you appear to be playing with the covered pickups appear to be EMGs is it the same in US also the older one you play certainly on the twang of a chord the new one has a beautiful sound ! Would you do a comparison vid ? …… yet again things might not be the sam between our different markets …… keep up the good work glad your health coming back on line !,
Try these chords in the pre chorus. Am Gm F/A C/Bb F/A F5/Ab C/G Gsus4 G. In the middle section try Ab Eb/Bb Bb/C C/D twice then Dm G. The altered bass notes make the chords work much better under the melody.
James James, have you heard of big Apple music I am looking for the epiphone dove pro electic acoustic I bought the epiphone hummingbird pro from russos in Hamilton new Jersey $369 across the board free shipping no taxes it has been impossible for me to get my hands on the dove everyone is always out of stock as they are now. I cannot afford to get it right now I am looking for a place I can make 4 payments or 3 payments is better for me. I do not trust alot of these places i trust russos so far. But I have to pay for the guitar and wait 5 months or more to get it. Yes I know we are in a pickle again with cargo I am never going to get the dove I am tired of the sustain in the mahogony wood dying to play on the maple wood. Thanks

Ran across that G chord you reference at the end recently, it’s a G2, adding the A in on the G string.
Hi JJ just noticed you have just posted one haha !,
Do you use pedals or any sound effects,….
Rarely, maybe the occasional phase shifter or wah. Not very often.
Which guitar is it
Schecter Saturn.
