- // Vergil's complete moveset in Devil May Cry 5. He has three weapons: his keepsake sword Yamato and the gauntlets of light Beowulf. Since the Sparda no longer exists as a physical object, thus removing any access to Force Edge, Vergil conjured a spectral form called the Mirage Edge. He uses Mirage Blades as his ranged projectile.
Thanks to the extraordinary fruit of the Qliphoth, Vergil's strength ascended with access to Sin Devil Trigger. Many of his attacks, his speed, and abilities are enhanced greatly while in this form. He also has a companion for battle or to dance with - Doppelganger.

Little fun gimmick: During the long SSS Yamato taunt, if the Doppelganger is currently out, you'll have full control over it until Vergil finishes the taunt.
What?!!🤯 That means you can keep up a combo while taunting😮 I thought you could only do that with his "edgy boi" blade spin taunt.🤔
inputting the attacks won't break you out of the taunt?
@@mercury2157 no. You can fully control doppelgänger through the whole entire taunt
that gives a lot of utility for Set up if you do it right. Say sending the enemy to you just as you are about to finish the taunt so you launch the enemy into you for further comboing
That goes for all the taunts. That's why they're harder to cancel the animation of the taunt compared to the other characters. Because like V, he can still fight while taunting.

Fun fact, if timed perfectly, Vergil can pull off his sin exclusive attacks in human form once the final portions of the combo or move is triggered
So, pop of SDT, do the moves, and revert back to human once the move is triggered?
@@annedrop Yep once he's charging the end of SDT Yamato combo a you can pull out and he'll still finish.
Every sdt combo finisher can be performed in human form if you pull out of it while he's charging it or in the process of doing it.
Even SDT Beowulf combo b with the wings but the only difference is his wings don't hit or come out and it's just his arms going back to hit the enemy.
I've done such a trick on several occasions by accident
Yeah it's weird. I noticed that when just doing normal combos. He didn't even do the previous hits, he just immediately did the final blow.

I didn't realize that taunts have an advantage on both his Devil Trigger, and his Concentration Meter.
I love this being a vergil thing since 3 he even gets the slightest amount when he sheaths Yamato in some combos
@@mitoriakumu2973 Yeah. It's as if Yamato is absorbing energy from the environment when it's unsheathed, directly into the blade. And when Vergil sheathes the Yamato, all that absorbed energy directly transfers to Vergil himself.
Also that taunt with the book charges the DT meter faster, because V reads the book to charge the DT. Neat details

Also when Vergil taunts you can control Doppleganger until the taunt ends.
So if you do his BP taunt then you can just run around as him until Vergil finishes. The only taunt that doesn't work is the Doppleganger dancing taunt.
The charm of using Deep Stinger in SDT is that you feel the wings actually doing something. In this case, the wings look like they are generating the vortex along with Yamato's spinning motion
Tbh Deep Stinger reads to me as a more practical-for-player-use version of that flying divebomb move he uses in the boss fight, so that would make sense.

Kinda was hoping that Vergil would get a new set of weapons tho, or atleast got upgrades from V's Familiars. Also would've been great if they added an air moveset for Beowulf and Mirage Edge not only a triangle and forward+triangle
he should kill demons to get their devil arm ,if only vergil was in all of the devil may cry series he wouldve have tons of them,but he stayes loyal to hes weapons which i what i like about him so much like the forceage hes fathers weapon and beowulf

Thank you for making this video. Ive been a fan of the series since like 2005 or so and Vergil is hands down my favorite video game character of all time. I love him in S.E. 3 and 4 and its nice to see not only did they add all his teleport moves that before u could only do in DT but his strafe and the void move just looks so bad ass. I was literally bedside myself the entire time. I didn't know theyd added him as dlc and im even impressed they made Beowulf and his 2 handed sword even better. I cant wait to use him. Great video man.

I really like the SDT Yamato Combo A, but without the metallic ring from DMC 4, it feels a little weak to me. Like, I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s not, it’s just that when you finish the combo in DMC 4 and you hear that metallic ring, it was just so special.
Yeah you're right, effect wise DMC 4 is better than DMC 5.

Beowulf has three charges at Concentration Level 2, just for those who can pull it off. Not generally a good idea, but it's flashy and does quite a bit of damage.

Sin devil trigger with Beowulf is so funny, like imagine fighting this dude with his sword and he transforms into a demonic being, only to put away the sword and just straight up throw hands bustin out some ninjashit karate moves
for anyone curious about the combo that vergil uses for beowulf IRL for kick 13/rising sun. its:
jump turn back kick>jump back leg round kick> jump spinning heel kick>jump back leg round kick>back leg front kick>double jump spinning crescent kicks.
Lemme help you out, bro. The first move is actually a Roundhouse into a same side Hook Kick. And the final kick is Fei Long Hyper. All the others are spot on.

@@Astro-ls1zq capcom likes to take a few moves from street fighter and add them into dmc. For example the beast uppercut (more specifically the charged versions like rising dragon) take inspo from the shoryuken. vergils fully charged one takes inspo from the shoryueppa. So the Fei Long "hyper" is a move that they took and added and renamed rising sun. Pretty cool capcom did it and the moves look hella flashy.

When Vergil said “I’ll cut you in two” along with that final strike and the sound at 1:34, I believed him and is probably my favorite move in the entire game. Also, you know you’re playing as the final boss when his idle stance is considered a moveset
You can also do Trick Down with (Lock-on back + Trick + Jump) instead of (Lock-On back to forward + Trick).

This is the only video I've seen that actually has *everything*, aside from the lower-concentration versions of World of V. Thank you for also putting the taunts in.
Yeah, I figured that adding the less-motivated variant of World of V would mean I'd also have to include the less-motivated variant of every attack he has, and that would be simply too much and not necessary.
@@Draethiox Yeah. All of the stuff affected by that mechanic is easy enough to figure out or just explain in words. I didn't actually know much about the "I shall surpass Sparda." taunt until I watched though, I thought it was a Mirage Edge taunt rather than SDT. It was also neat seeing the damage values for everything.
I have an idea for Vergil's DMC6 moveset.
Yamato Combo A becomes the DT Yamato Combo A, but in SDT, the extra finisher becomes a Void Slash like attack.
Yamato Combo B also has the DT extra blow as a default, and that's really it LOL
Yamato Combo C can stay the same.
High Time can stay the same, but Aerial Rave becomes the DMC3 aerial rave, with Aerial Rave B just being a delay attack for the start of rave A.
Yamato can have the "It's past your bedtime" move, with special dialogue against enemies and bosses
Stinger can just be Stinger 2 from the start, and also Million Stab
Drive can have an extra attack in SDT, and Overdrive should travel faster or slower depending on the Concentration gauge
Force Edge Combo A should just be a regular follow up into Million Stab
Beowulf Combo A should just have the DT attack as default, and Combo B can be the same.
Summoned Swords should be at Boss Vergil 's speed until you upgrade it.
World of V should have a heal over time, duration depending on the Concentration Gauge.
Also Dante should borrow Yamato in mission 11 and then gives it back, then we change to Vergil, meaning he's in the main story, also DMC3 multi Judgment Cuts upgrade should return

Idk why he didn’t get a flight move… or a bomber move. Could have done one using combination of X+O or A+B. Or give him more attacks using back+forward+Triangle attacks in air and for Yamato on ground. Like a spin attack or a boomerang move like we saw in the SE of dmc4
I think that Vergil spreads his wings in the Beowulf Combo B SDT just to be dramatic
They should've incorporated moves from DmC Devil may Cry too. Solar Flare, Atomic, Perfect Slice etc. were very good.
I have continually tried to do combo B of yamato but that timing is so delayed that I keep messing it up. And I never realized that rising sun was there because I never truly held down the 13 kick ability. two combos that i have been missing that could have made some fights and combos better
its delayed because to look smoother and it does a lot of burst damage for a single target enemy

Love the fact that Mirage Edge is the replacement for the Force Edge sword since Vergil dropped it in his last fight with Dante in DMC3.
Well, not only that, but both the Devil Sword Sparda and Force Edge no longer even physically exist. So it makes sense that he'd conjure a replica blade from his own demonic energy.
How he still has Beowulf though, I have no idea.
Well if we go all the way back to DMC3; Vergil DID technically kill Beowulf with quick succession and took his power but Beowulf had fought Dante earlier in DMC3 and was in no condition to fight (or probably was but wasn't prepared for Vergil in like a million miles or years lmao) but you are right about Devil Sword Sparta and Force Edge not existing physically anymore. But it is a great concept and idea for Vergil to use his own demon energy to make a weapon in the place of Force Edge and use the Mirage Edge just like it.
Yeah but Vergil lost possession of Beowulf after Arkham broke the seal. It was picked by Dante afterwards. Perhaps Dante held onto the Devil Arm all these years and then gave them back to Vergil sometime after DMC5 or something. I dunno.
That's so weird because since Vergil lost Beowulf after DMC3, he still has it by DMC4 and DMC5. But for some reason Dante doesn't have the original Cerberus Nunchaku, A&R Daggers, etc. It's like the developers of DMC5 are making the exact repeat of Vergil's equipment from DMC3 & DMC4 but without Force Edge in his possession. Hopefully we'll get some answers from the developers of the game.
Vergil has them in DMC4 for gameplay reasons, but he really only has Yamato at the time. As for Dante, I heard from somewhere that he sold a few of his Devil Arms for money. Not sure if that's official or not.
There's so many stylish moveset yet my favorite chain is still stinger > million stab > kick 13 and ascend > air stinger > helm breaker > drive and then sometimes overdrive or round trip while adding summoned sword moves such as blistering blades or heavy rain blades in the middle. I also like to chain like this if my motivation level is 2 by doing heavy rain blades > air trick > hold sdt > charge rising dragon and another heavy rain blades > release sdt then rising dragon > near ground release heavy rain blades then use hell on earth.
Yamato combo c is always my favorite attack 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Hello again, my man! Nice to see you do a moveset from DMC5 and what better character than Vergil himself. I would go in depth with his moveset again, but apparently RUclips is being dumb and won't allow me to post something 'too long' for the video. So, I'll try keeping it short this time. (Apologies for any harshness, but I just spent ALL DAY doing this and I'm a bit ticked about it):
I like the moveset, but here's a couple of ideas I would have changed:
Yamato (One of my favorite Devil Arms):
Wish the animations were more straightforward and not unnecessary spinning a lot. The new moves are nice additions and Judgment Cut was expanded upon with the SDT bonus of multi-targeting. Still wish Upper Slash had the pause combo of its downward strike that can be great for crowd control and the original Aerial Rave wasn't a taunt with B being similar to Agni & Rudra's Sky Dance. JCE is evidence to my theory that Vergil has his own variation of Quicksilver.
Beowulf (A welcomed return since Balrog is different in comparison this time):
The third charge from concentration serves no purpose other than a longer charge time. The additional attacks for the combos and Starfall are great, Hell on Earth is my favorite super, and wished Rising Sun was 'Back + Tap Triangle' while holding it allows the uppercuts.
Force- Mirage Edge(Just a Phantom ForceEdge, or Phantom Edge):
Honestly, the one I use the least. Still missing its original combo from 3, the effects could be a bit better, Deep Stinger is his version of Dante's SDT Stinger with the effects of Helter Skelter, and have more attacks that involves dual wielding more than just ForceEdge with a hint of Yamato.
Summoned Swords/Mirage Blades (Either way is fine):
Still has his original attacks, though they could have incorporated more from V's Familiars and Urizen's projectiles to expand the moveset while having them use more of the DT gauge or a certain level of concentration to access.
Abilities:
Strafe and Trick Dodge should be an expansion of his teleports, the homing trick should either be purchasable or removed, Doppelganger shouldn't replace DT entirely and instead be separate from it, allowing it to be used with the D-pad and even in unison with DT for more offensive options. World of V is a nice catering to fans, but confuses me more in terms of lore.
Taunts:
Most of the new ones are great, such as the exclusives, Special, and EX.

Well, the third charge is different when you release it on time ( when it sparks ) and the damage output is massive.
@@Kylie-tb7vu Fair point. If you had a situation where you stunned the boss for quite a bit, you can land that hit for massive damage. Though, my previous comment that I couldn't do asks the question:

For me it's just weird that the scabbard just disappear into thin air when entering SDT mode as Vergil.
Even though Vergils scabbard merging into his body when he uses DT has always been a thing? All it does this time is just merge into the energy coming from his wrists which is why he sheaths Yamato specifically in that every time an animation ends with him sheathing Yamato.
I think the way he used Force edge together with Yamato was way cooler in dmc3
In 4 they made the base combo be Force Edge only for some reason, the start is even the same. Combo B is still cooler than anything he did in 3 (it actually uses Yamato too) so i dont mind that very much.
All i ever wanted was 3SE moves with 4SE speed + devastation moves in 5SE

I wish the style announcer would comment on Virgil and V's moves. It's just a shame after Nero's own-little-shonen world where attacks work better if you name them, and Dante's overall joy at play, that the Vs have so little non-generic dialogue.

Vergil is a 1m90, the scabbard alone is as long as his legs. You can figure out the rest.
DMC5 Vergil is awesome and powerfull.. but all the spirit sword looks more powerfull in DMC4
