I was there and felt so lucky. I wish everyone on this tour could see this. It was so beautifully done with just this encore segment at the end. Don't know honestly why there was so much resistance. This could have been a sweet segment at the end of every night. But grateful we got this one night at least.
Yeah because he established journey and brought journey to existence, Steve Perry was only an upgrade to bring their journey band into success to what it is today.
I fell in love with this song from the first note I heard, Greg on lead with Steve backing him up on vocals with his own personalised touch it was mind blowing
I'm hardly a fan of Journey but look at this guy Gregg Rollie. The man was 76 years old and he still has a pretty good voice. He looks decades younger.
I got the Journey box set as a birthday gift way back in the day. The Greg and Steve era blew my mind the first time I heard them. They put everything they had into it. Not to slam on 2024 bands, but gosh, I really do believe that this is an era of rock that won't ever be replicated with such soul and talent. I said what I said.
@@Lovegun-w4s he never was a great singer, yes you are right and I know that, it ticked me off thourgh that he mentioned everyone except Arnel the lead singer.
Greg has great fashion sense, great voice he and Steve together were perfect. Iconic voice and gorgeous. He kept the band together and everyone looked happy.
They paid attention to the comments sections throughout the years and saw that the public wanted Greg back..Not the same heart and soul as the original recordings but nonetheless they still gave us the opportunity to hear it again.
I always said if i ever met Gregg Rolie, the last thing i would say to him is journey sounded their best when you were in the band 👍 maybe someday I'll get that opportunity.
Perry owes it himself to just appear once again and do a couple songs with these members. He sure doesn't owe us anything but he has a legion of fans with the OLD Journey.
Great!!! Greg Rolie awesome and Arnel is singing back to excellent.. journey you guys rock.. it's great you have a drummer you can sing high and the keyboard player who can also sing to cover when needed.. Plus one of the best guitar players Neal.. with you in journey and Luke in Toto it's guitar heaven.. 😀
I can just close my eyes and I remember the first time I heard this song. Greg's vocals were perfect & then you add in Steve Perry? This was a band that became a part of my Friday night, put on the album, get the bong and lay on the front grass and look up at the stars...and just let it breathe! So good to see Greg and hear him. Great memories here.
Three singers and the old energy is back the way I remembered Journey in the beginning. If only Steve could come back. It's a big tent and room for all. Spreading the vocals gives the band more longevity
Si es verdad, la voz de S.P sta rota ,nunca cantara mas, seria una verguenza si vuelve a cantar y el lo sabe, pobre, sera q con un buen Couh del canto no mejora su voz?
A lot of people complimenting this need to get their ears checked. The harmonies were not goid and Greg did NOT sound that good. Just bad. Even Arnel was a bit off a few times. Arnel can sing but this song was just not good and they need to skip it or practice more. I'm NOT being a hater. I like Journey songs even though I'm not a huge "fan". Just calling it for what it is or was and this was not good.
Greg > Steve. Steve was a drama queen and cancerous. Refused hip surgery and grounded the band. Always taking breaks saying his voice wasn't right. When his girl barked he left running . A simp's Simp.
Hey Journey! All of you belong on stage! Give the fans everything you have to offer. Please set down your differences and bring us the live music of Journey through ALL the years, from all the band members, and DO NOT let Arnel go - FANS ADORE ARNEL!
Gregg can still perform (even at age 76!), but Arnel is done. His voice is faltering in much the same way Steve Augeri's did from constant strain for the higher-pitched parts. That's why you didn't hear the echo vocals in the latter part of the song against Neal's guitar solo - Arnel simply can't do it. Time for him to go.
Steve Perry should be the first name he thank because none of them would be where they are today without mr Perry in all honesty whether they want to admit it or not without Steve Perry we all with not there name Amen
Greg has so much more presence on stage than Jonathan Cain has. Not even close. He’s good but not in the same league as Greg Rolie. I have always missed him after he left the band.
How about Ansley Dunbar and George Tickner(at least for the songs from the first album or Charge Of The Light Brigade Demo? How about Prairie Prince(at least for the songs from the Charge Of The Light Brigade Demo)? And this is not the first time with Gregg Rolie. How about the Journey Through Time concert with Gregg? Anyways, this does not compare to the first three Journey albums with the original lineup nor does it compare the live shows of Journey before Perry joined in late 1977?
Now that’s the version of Journey I want to pay to see.
Steve and Gregg complimented each other so well, to me that was by far the best version of Journey!
If you like the gregg Rolie days of journey this is as close to Gregg and Steve as you can get. I miss that . Does anyone else? 🤷
Saw this song on the midnight special when they performed in 1978….. outstanding song
Glad the whole band went out in support of Greg... he really is a part of Journey.

This could have been a sweet segment at the end of every night. But grateful we got this one night at least.
Yeah and so was Ansley Dunbar, Prairie Prince, and George Tickner as well.
He sounds just like he did in 78..deen should of sang SP parts
One of the original band members of journey.
Yeah because he established journey and brought journey to existence, Steve Perry was only an upgrade to bring their journey band into success to what it is today.
I fell in love with this song from the first note I heard, Greg on lead with Steve backing him up on vocals with his own personalised touch it was mind blowing
In this rendition, you KNOW it was NOT Steve Perry but Arnel Pineda?
The Man played Woodstock... So glad we got to see and hear you..Cheers
Steve and Greg together was perfection
So were Perry and Cain- they were songwriting machines!
ya.. thats why they fired greg. LOL gregs days were numbered as soon as they heard Steves demo tape. LOL
@@ScreamingEagleFTW Gregg Rolie was not fired. He quit the band because he was tired of touring AND he didn't like Steve Perry. Those are the FACTS.
They didn’t fire greg. He retired and they replaced him.
Such a great song! I was 14 when it came out
Fantastic with Santana

Is so good seeing Gregg Rolie performing with Journey! Such an iconic voice.
he cant sing anymore either. they lowed the song 2 keys so he could hit "FLYYYYY"
@@ScreamingEagleFTW
Don't know how old you are, but can you do things you were able to do 40 some years ago 🤔🤔
@@Lovegun-w4s he never was a great singer, yes you are right and I know that, it ticked me off thourgh that he mentioned everyone except Arnel the lead singer.
Greg Rolie, legend! Santana and Journey before the pop days was a vocal and keyboard original. Rock and Roll Royalty!
Journey wasn't Journey without Greg.
Oh my God I just went back to high school isis sing this song all day all night my whole high school year thanks for the memories🎉
43 years after I discovered Journey, this is still my favorite Journey song ever
Before all the glamor there was Gregg
Greg's a super nice guy. We emailed back and forth while I was combat deployed.
The REAL Journey.
Perry was a girley boy, never got used to him .
Greg has great fashion sense, great voice he and Steve together were perfect. Iconic voice and gorgeous. He kept the band together and everyone looked happy.
Greg is such a awesome part of that band!!
Glad to see Gregg back with Journey. They sound awesome.
not Journey without Steve Perry
Gregg still has it
Gregg sounds just as good as he did45 years ago. Amazing!
Thanks for posting this. I was there but was way up high. Nice to see a close-up of this epic moment.
For sure. Breath of fresh air for us old folk.
I’m smiling huge!!! When Gregg left……they lost that SOUND!!!!! …..and the B-3, Fender Rhodes!!!
And Gregg is still rockin the Hammond B-3.
Very, very, people I would stop and give a standing ovation. Gregger's is that man. 😎🎸🎸🎸🎸.
You forgot the word "FEW" and repeated very twice. Fix your tribute.
Gregg sounds great. Loved it when he was in the band.
wow was so great to hear the good ole journey with gregg and neil!!!
They paid attention to the comments sections throughout the years and saw that the public wanted Greg back..Not the same heart and soul as the original recordings but nonetheless they still gave us the opportunity to hear it again.
Greg rocks,Evolution and Infinity are my two favorites.
New guys a genius
They were a rock-n-roll band with Gregg
I always said if i ever met Gregg Rolie, the last thing i would say to him is journey sounded their best when you were in the band 👍 maybe someday I'll get that opportunity.
I agree 100%
The combo of Rolie and Perry was lightning in a bottle
Hell yeah greg😊
This needs more 👍👍👍👍up
The King lives on. Miss you Eddie. IYKYK
Thumbs up if you do.
Perry owes it himself to just appear once again and do a couple songs with these members. He sure doesn't owe us anything but he has a legion of fans with the OLD Journey.
Perry should tour with Greg Rollie and Ross Valory
@@eyepatch3769 I agree with that
Gregg & Neil were together in Santana before they formed Journey. I haven't bought any of their music after Steve left.
Gregg we love you I always thought you were the voice of journey. No disrespect to Steve but I grew up on your voice earlier in the Santana days
Great!!! Greg Rolie awesome and Arnel is singing back to excellent.. journey you guys rock.. it's great you have a drummer you can sing high and the keyboard player who can also sing to cover when needed.. A Rolie song is called "Close my Eyes". Look it up.
What a thrill for Arnell to sing with Greg. I know the devout Journey fans don't like to acknowledge him but this was pretty great even without Steve.
even greg didnt acknowlege him in his opening remarks. he ackknowledged everyone except arnel.
ALL YOU NEED IS STEVE PERRY!!!!!!! TO MAKE JOURNEY WHOLE!!!!!
Babe, Perry can't hit the notes anymore. 74 is a bitch, but it happens.
Journey ist nur Journey mit @steveperry, alles andere ist Cover, der wievielte Sänger versucht sich nun mittlerweile? 🙄
I liked Gregg & Deen on this song.
Greg made the band!
Actually Steve Perry and Greg Rollie do
Greg is a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Three singers and the old energy is back the way I remembered Journey in the beginning. If only Steve could come back. It's a big tent and room for all. Spreading the vocals gives the band more longevity
Arnel/Steve, Greg, and who?
Steve will never be back, his voice is shot, his studio album that he put out last year sounded crap and was quickly forgotten.
Si es verdad, la voz de S.P sta rota ,nunca cantara mas, seria una verguenza si vuelve a cantar y el lo sabe, pobre, sera q con un buen Couh del canto no mejora su voz?

Go go baby boomers! Let Arnel Pineda sing After All These Yrs!

Using EVH amps - that says something about how good that gear is!
It’s a way of paying tribute to the great Eddie Van Halen!
Greg is my fav member of Journey not to mention of Santana. He founded BOTH bands by the way ❤❤❤
Evry time I hear this song I wonder WHY doesn't this guy sing every song ? To me he sounds so much better.
I like Greg singing main vocals, I believe he sounds better than Perry. Classic sounds of Journey
After listening to that, it’s unmistakable how much life and energy Arnel brings to Journey. Fun to see Gregg but Where would we be without Arnel.
I still only recognize Greg as the sound of Journey - loved his vocals!

Rolie really has a nice voice. Not spectacular like Perry, but a very pleasant mid-range.
70s Journey,Totally!Open your Eyes to this Kind of Way!❤😅😊
Journey needs to bring back greg Rolie to replace arnel in the process.
Gregg's thinking great, I can pay my credit card bills now. (Make sure Neal pays you in cash).
I don’t think Gregg needs the money. Lol
Steve come back a few shows and Gregg rollie
Gregg was the singer for all the journey songs that no one ever listened to
arnold flat on 1st harmonies. Greg right in key.
Cain looks like he'd rather be off reading a Dilbert comic....
Wow!! 🔥🔥🔥😘🔥🔥🔥

great collaboration

Go away Neil!!!
Perry only
The hundred people in the audience who knew who he was seemed to quite enjoy it.
I would hope that a REAL Journey fan would know who Gregg Rolie is
that's a lot of people.

I had Journey's first two albums and I didn't care much about em when the other guy started singing. Loved Gregg's voice.

NOTHING LIKE STEVE PERRY THOUGH
T else she sings! That was awesome!
Not the same without steve Perry👎
I'm seeing Journey in Cleveland 7/30/24. I know they won't be as good. With out Steve
Jonathan Cain who?
Jonathan Cain and Gregg Rolie on the same stage! Now that is a keyboard powerhouse if there ever was one...
I most certainly know who Gregg rolie is but why is Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump there lol
Not the same band
Journey touring with Eddie Van Halen AMP's
Cool 😎
Ok that sucks!
One of my all time favorite bands and song!!!!!
One of the best rock bands ever!
GLAD TO HEAR AND SEE GREGG, MISSED HIM. PLUS HE STILL SEXY AND THE REST OF THE GROUP SOUNDED AND PLAYED GREAT!
they could have at least put a board mix to this, it was mud.
Jon butchered the piano part
