    I like the way you keep everything real and show pretty much what’s involved in each step. The breakdown is good especially when you run into those little snags, you show that too which to me lets everyone know what to expect and what it actually takes to make the whole setup work and look correctly. The added little comments are also pretty funny but again keeping it real. Thanks for the tutorial and every post you’ve made. Especially the different engines and the expectations of each one. 🤙🤙

    I bought a piston replacement for my Athena sport. I'm going to attempt to go over 65+ maybe on 32T. Anyone would like to see that?
    Also let me explain more about the issue at 9k rpm (with my 70cc 47mm vertical iron minarelli at least). Like I said in the video, it runs fine up until 9k rpm and starts losing power, starts running lean (or at least it seems like it). I remember this happening even before it was ported, when I first got it. On my beach cruiser with 50cc jog pipe, on 36T even 40T it would top out 9k rpm. Well... I'm not sure if it did the same thing, maybe a little, but it definitely topped out around 9k rpm. After I ported it, I went over half throttle and when it started "topping out" 9k rpm (same issue, losing power there) then I noticed it kept building up rpm slowly. From 9k to 10.3k rpm. I kept going while running lean at almost WOT (got carried away) and it blew. (either it was running too lean lacking oil for the lower bearing of rod or it couldn't take 10k+ or both). While I did try everything, I tried different jetting from 130 to 165 main jet and still happening (despite too rich, sputtering when trying to take off then finally taking off etc.), improving fuel flow of the petcock by straight drilling through it, drilling a hole in the cap which both helped a lot improving the flow, like a lot. Still happens. I go ahead and literally drill through the fuel lines of the carburetor, from inlet, to the long line (by drilling through the brass ball, then sealing it later), to the fuel valve hole (and cleaning it up to make sure it doesn't leak), that's all, didn't fix the problem.
    I'm using PWK21 btw, $30 on amazon (clone), and NIBBI 19 with air filter etc. ($45 on amazon, clone?). Since they're cheap I guess I'm just gonna go ahead and drill the vent holes wide open. Even if I buy a real carb, I think this might still happen. Or even Stihl carbs just H and L tuning, this might still happen? I think it's just this Minarelli tbh. I have no idea at all. Maybe it's my porting that I did? Yes it's the same Minarelli that I still have, I re-honed it and replaced the piston and rings. Also, on my Athena sport from what I've experienced, it went up to 12k fine, but did run a little lean up there I guess since I hadn't fully tuned it. I have no idea what's happening at all. Let me know what you think thanks. Honestly I'm about done with this minarelli. While it's still very strong but doesn't go fast, I can still keep it for, idk, popping wheelies and snow riding or whatever on bigger sprockets.

      The faster you go the more complex on how every component of your build should work together. That's the neat part about this hobby....figuring it out patiently. As your builds move faster you're going to require racing components. And all those little subtleties come into play. It's the little details that make a BIG difference in the 10k+ rpm range.

    • @trentbikes
      @trentbikes  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@jmrides777 Yep. I knew that more rpm = more difficult to prevent it from blowing up quickly. Stock china cranks should be able to take 10-12k rpm, as long as it's not running rich, too advanced timing (pre-detonation or close), not too small squish gap (otherwise piston hitting head), and also apparently not lugging the engine at lower rpms.
      I really hope it wont blow up again because I might not get lucky next time.
      Kelly or rdm cranks are recommended as they can handle a lot more up to around 15k rpm, much tighter fit pin (so it will be harder to go out of true etc), I'm just so skeptical about buying them because what if it happens again even if it was running right? I know 2 strokes dont last very long, but I'm talking after only a hundred miles or something like that. Lower bearing blows, and now what? $200 down the drain for me.

    Instead of using a chain tensioner on the pedal side you can shorten the chain by using a hammer and a really thin flat head screwdriver to pop one of the links off.I grew up poor so couldn't afford the right tool .Just tap the flathead between the link on both holes until it pops off and when you get it to the right size you can use a master link or just pound one of the links back on the way it came off.

    • @trentbikes
      @trentbikes  7 месяцев назад

      Ty. I actually had the problem with my first run leader tach. For some reason when I used it on my minsrelli it started acting very weird and glitchy and whatever, only when my engine was running, even with either one of the temp sensor or the wire hooked up. Only. If I disconnected both it works fine. Over time it eventually died. No, it'd not the battery. Bought a new one and from now on I wrap around 2 turns at most maybe 3 (2 works just fine) right before the plug boot. And I keep all the wires away from the hv cable. Seems to work fine now

    Looks awesome brother at the time I couldn't afford a felt faker ao I got a zada screaming demon v2 and your right the frames are a little beefier but go look what DHL put on his screaming demon and I only had to pay 350 for 3 bikes because they couldn't tell me how to fix the pin hole in the gas tank so they gave me another one and it was the same I didn't even know at first how to fix them so I went on line and talked to someone that builds gas tanks he told me about red coat tank sealer and that's why I have screaming demons with mag rims I've never had any problems with. Yeah I had to order another piston for my athina as well I put a window in the piston and she started frying my coils down as the magneto even put in a parmakit cdi same thing I think it's putting so much fuel into the engine it's straining the coils I don't know so going back to square one be safe brother and enjoy your bicycle I know there not cheap either

    Hey just wondering if you have a video about all the mods you've don't to the motor itself? That thing rips great for a zeda! I have a phantom v3 on a 26" cheap frame and a 34 tooth rear sprocket.. I weigh 250lbs and was able to hit 42-43mph on flat pavement. Then I ported and matched the intake and exhaust ports and now I can touch 50-51mph on flat ground from just that and adjustment to my carb needle but totally stock jet with only 87 octane.. i can get almost 55mph and better acceleration with 93. I plan to mix in a little nitromethane soon just to experiment😂. But I want more... I'm researching about putting a sthil ms660 big bore kit on it.. they have the same stroke of 40mm but the big bore is 56mm where the stock phantom is 52mm.. so it'll end up as a 98.52cc. I'm always interested in other people's builds tho, especially when they haul ass like yours!!! Also I'm trying to find anyone in western Massachusetts or Southern VT and southwestern NH to ride with if anyone reads this from there!!!

Just gotta make sure to build your motor correctly, run correct squish gap, avoid advancing timing too much, buy treatland CDI (safely rev to higher rpm, retarded curve up there) or b0r3d's adjustable cdi (svm-bikes.company.site), and make sure your crank is balanced and trued.
