My husband and I went to Costco today to buy one, it was on sale for $1,499. Went to 2 Costcos’ and they were all gone. I did not want to give up since we finally got our HOA approval. We drove to a third Costco and they had it on sale for $1,199!! Winner!! I’m sure my husband was happy I dragged him to one more Costco!! 😉😉 I can’t wait until he builds it!!
David Demangos yes we did! It looks awesome! Took my husband and I one weekend to put it together, but in the end we had to get more help putting up the roof. 2 people are not enough, especially when the wifey (me) is not that strong to hold up the roof panels.
We have had a Costco gazebo for about 3 years. We added stone to the bottom of the poles, fan, lights, shades on the sides and electric. We love it. It has held up well.
Excellent, what would you honestly say your skill level would be during the assembly. Are you handy or kind of a weekend warrior? I'm just curious for anybody deciding to tackle the job. I thought it was a bit complicated while being pretty handy. 😀

Thank you for all the good info that helps I have one Costco Grand Gazebo on its way is it possible to get a vertical measurement Centerline of the post from the bottom to the top of the aluminum To get the permit they are asking 5ft from the property line but they are going off YARDISTRY schematic which says 10.4 ft I am trying put it at 4ft from the property line so it can draw up the permit with that measurement so if I can get that measurement that would be nice Thank you

@@DavidDemangos I'm in southeast Michigan, where the winters are usually pretty awful. I'll be happy to get 4 or 5 years out of one of these. Better than the $20K+ quotes I've got to build the same thing from scratch. I've seen one of these shrink-wrapped for the winter! That may be an option, too.
I didn't read any direction on that but I would absolutely. I'm going to be posting a two-year update video. All the south facing wood is pretty faded, of course due to sun exposure.
It did fade due to the fact that I didn't stain at 3 months after as they advise. You know, you got to read the fine print. Hardly any flaking even in direct sun. There's a couple threads on info if you want to take a look at them here.
Nice. Is the roof noisy when it rains? And does it get hot under it in the summer sun? I'll be building my own, due to price, I could go bigger and cheaper. Thanks
I wouldn't think there would be any problem with the legs, they're very sturdy. As for the roof and the weight of snow you probably want to check with Yardistry directly.
As a matter of fact, I am sitting under it right now! I posted a 2 yr update, subscribe and check it out here on RUclips. Will also be posting the wiring for lights in the next week.
It was actually through Costco. It was $2,000 but totally worth it. We waited for it to go on sale. It still looks awesome two years later just like when we first bought it.
These units require a building permit throughout the United States. (Residential Building Code) Your local Building and Safety department requires structural engineering information in order to approve the building permit but when you contact Yardistry they absolutely refuse to provide this information. That's right they refuse. (This instalation also requires an electrical permit.) If a building inspector ever sees this the owner will be fined and forced to remove the structure. Ask yourself what Yardistry is hiding, why won't they provide the structural engineering information so you can legally build their products in the US? There is a warning in the brochures and instructions "may require a permit". As a result Costco has no liability, you're on your own. And believe me Yardistry is well aware of this issue. They just don't care. No homeowners insurance will cover injury or damage resulting from an illegally constructed structure. Buyer beware.
Permit requirements in some jurisdictions are only required per the size of the gazebo. In my jurisdiction it is any gazebo 144 sq ft and below does not require a permit. It is irresponsible making such a blanket statement. In regards to homeowners insurance please point out the exclusion. You are incorrect. Coverage is afforded..
I believe that if you buy something and within 90 days it goes on sale and you have the receipt they will refund the difference. Probably depends on the store. Thank you for the reminder.

Very low, live in San Diego. although I have read other reports and these hold up in high winds as long as they're anchored correctly.

Is the roof noisy when it rains?

Good question, noisy is relative. It's not quiet like a shingle roof. Don't notice it getting hot, the ceiling very tall. Hope that helps.

A friend of mine.
Do we need a permit for this ?

Yes, after 3 to 6 months you should stain in it with a semi transparent stain I used Sherwin-Williams to come up with a close color match.
