Good video. I think Gladiator Beast's Respite would have been much better if its effect was: Discard 1 "Gladiator Beast" card; draw 2 cards (which is basically Destiny Draw for GBs). We did get this in the form of Gladiator Beast Sagittarii which was nice but, it would have been better in the form of a Spell card.
I think the designer's rationale was to send back monsters to be able to tag into them, but yes... Discard 1 to draw 2 is way better since Equeste/ Darius become useful as soon as turn 1.
Test it and in my case it didnt work in a 40 card main. Tried go up to 42/43 card main but at the same time increasing the number of Gb bricks in my opening without any respite.
I haven't played GB in Edison but I feel like Proving Ground is good because it's your 2nd, 3rd, and or 4th copy of Beastiari? That's a good thing right?
it's one of the best cards in the archetype. it's better than additional names just because you can afford to play a higher count of glads without redundancy on the bad ones (5 copies of laquari instead of 2) and it interacts really good with the opponent's dustshoot and ddv
The reason most gb players didnt play that card cause the card itself is brick. The worst part is if your opening hand is respite with no other gb cards or top decking in the worst time in the match. Your better playing upstart goblin. Its no real drawback besides giving your opponent 1000 life points compare to respite that have to many drawbacks
Respite is good simply because you can add it back off Equeste. Also looping War Charriot is how you seal the game and this increases you chance you get to it
You can return respite with respite, that's why it's so good.

@@PeircingBattleDamageit's good but has it's flaws mainly its own name can't be searched with samnite or recycled with equeste

It's pronounced 'res-pit' like the e is silent.
Who cares! Respite sounds better.
