You mam are the best teacher👩🏫 ive watched in the whole "silhouette 101 tutorials" spectrum, you were clear and concise, gave options and alternatives for everything. I feel like i can do anything with silhouette 😂you have just earned yourself a well deserved new subie😍 Thank you so much💞 i really appreciate your time and effort to make this video 🤗
I am so happy that these tutorials are available. I've had my machine for a couple of years and felt intimidated due to not understanding how to use the machine properly. You explain and show the features with ease. Thank you!
I learned so much from this video. I have a cameo 2 I've had for yrs but never tried using the print and cut till I purchased the 4. I've never been more frustrated till today but after watching this video I think it brought my blood pressure down. lol. Thank you!
I love watching your videos. They are so detailed and to the point. You keep your focus and just keep moving. Please don't stop teaching, you are such in inspiration in a very difficult and in somewhat lonely times.
Excellent video. New owner here and although I’ve been using the software a few weeks I didn’t know about opening up the patterns larger, never spotted it before! The video was lovely and clear and informative, thank you.
Hi Kelly, Thank you so much, you have explained things so well, I have had my portrait for nearly 4 years and used most of the things you showed, I am having trouble with my image cutting to of to the left, so now I am going to try what you have explained and see if this fixes my problem. I wish there are more of these video's for us to learn, TFS, Cheers Anna.
I love all your videos, so educating! Can you please tell me what kind of paper I need for print&cut, regular or specific transfer paper for the inkjet printer? Thank you, you are awesome!
Thank you! I believe those are various floral shapes from the Silhouette Design Store. I'm afraid that was too long ago to track down the design numbers from whoever assembled it at Silhouette.
I'm using an adhesive runner (Ad Tech brand in the video, but many brands work great), and a white liquid glue (PPA brand in the video, but Scotch works well also) in a needle-tip applicator bottle.
I just bought the Silhouette Cameo 4 for my Etsy Shop projects. I specifically needed the Print & Cut feature of this machine. The Software is NOT for beginners at all more for Advanced Graphic Designers who know what the features are and have had training how to use them. I sat for literally 8 Hours trying to get my stickers on expensive sticker paper to print & then cut out. I've tried everything. Watched HOURS of videos on RUclips. I still can't get my stickers to cut. The machine just cuts "near" where I need it to cut. Leaving the image itself cut up or it will cut out the image next to the image. I've wasted about $20 in sticker paper and am at a complete loss of what to do. Trying to get a "Cut" line around the image is nearly impossible for a beginner. I have gotten the red cut lines around the image using the Trace feature and offset but when it actually goes to cut...it ruins the image cutting through it and or cutting next to it. I am beyond frustrated and can't continue to spend hours a day trying to get this machine to cut correctly. There is NO instructions on how to do anything with these machines. I guess we should all just know exactly how to use the graphic design software for very advanced users straight out of the damn box. I'm sure the Software may work for those who actually know how to use it but what Silhouette is failing to realize is that ALL types of people buy these machines...that is beginners, intermediate and advanced. There is No easy to understand beginner software. To get the cut lines around an image is beyond difficult and getting the machine to cut around the image and not just beside it...is nearly impossible.
Hello, I hope you have resolved this since you wrote your comment. The Cameo needs to be in a brightly lit location to help it read the registration marks and make accurate cuts. You may need a spotlight on your table to boost the lighting. It’s also good to practice on ordinary copy paper before using the expensive sticker paper.
The Silhouette machine will read registration marks when printed from a laser printer, but most of the printable materials sold by Silhouette are for use with inkjet printers. If you are laser printing on compatible media, you can print & cut with your Silhouette machine!
Love the instructions! One of my favourites. I tried to print and cut for the first time.. and somehow my simple flower designs do not cut deep enough on the left side. The right side goes al the way through .. even in the mat , but the left just doesn't cut all the way.. even tried a new blade. Same result. Tried different paper settings. mine is 180 gr / 80 lbs. Should work if use cardstock heavy 80 lbs or do i have to just the settings from the blade to "deep cut? Or...my machine is broke :( after a week of using
Great video, thank you for sharing. Do you have any suggestions for print and cuts from PNGs that have white edges? I seem to have trouble making my own ephemera from digital files from A.C Digitals. The software doesn’t seem to pick up the image when tracing images that have white edges. Most of the element packs seem to already have a white border on them and it makes it difficult to trace.
Unfortunately, Silhouette Studio does not trace white. However, if you trace the colored portion you can always add a white outline with the Offset feature. Here's a video on the Offset feature. ruclips.net/video/37MlgSNPYyU/видео.html
New to silhouette studio, I opted for the business version. How to I import designs and create new designs that were scanned die cuts or stamps without them coming in with low resolution? I’m waiting on my back ordered silhouette cameo pro. I have other brands, older machines. Hoping to use my older machines as well as my new cameo 4pro at least for awhile. Best importing and saving options. Best tracing options to start a trace color and black and white designs? Thank you for your help.
I bought the canon craft printer and it will print 12x12 paper. Can you do print then cut on 12x12 paper in Silhouette Design Studio? Can I change the print boarder?
Yes, you can print on 12 x 12 paper if your printer allows it. In my experience, you need to set up the printer preferences (a.k.a. advanced options) first as 12 x 12 (File>Print...) and then Silhouette Studio will recognize it and automatically adjust the print border to fit the 12x12 page. I also recommend using the rear paper feeder instead of having it try to pull from the paper cassette.
Hi. Im using the autoblade that came in the box, and ive been cutting vinyl stickers. About 20 pages or so, and the blade is now dull.. is that normal? Is there a special type of blade used for die cut vinyl stickers? Thank you and more power :)
I can not for the life of me get my Cameo's to cut right. I had a Cameo 4 and followed everything in all of your print and cut tutorials, even calibrated the machine and it still comes way off cut. I've tried adding offsets, insets, everything. It's just so off it's unsightly. I've made sure I'm loading the mat correctly, all settings are correct, registration marks are on and printed from silhouette studio. I thought it was maybe my machine so I sent it back and upgraded to the Cameo 4 Pro, well same issues with the Cameo 4 Pro. Both on Mac M1 and Windows 10.
hello, I need help with this. When I ungroup the card the parts move around jerkily, and the so sweet the back ground with red cut line wont group back together. Can anyone help me? I have silhouette 4, business edition.
what do you think my issue is, I used just text, added a off set, and added registration marks. But I get the error about registration marks. Pls help.

It may have to do with your scanner settings. I recommend checking your scan settings to make sure it's scanning at the highest resolution possible.

Why don't some of the designs that I buy from the design store, actually cut?
Can you use laser color printer
Curious. Maybe I missed something, can someone explain to me why she selected pattern paper for her material versus card stock?
I just like the default cut settings for pattern paper more than card stock. It just comes from experience and is a time saver.

What model Cameo is used in this video?
The Cameo 3 is in this video, but Print & Cut works with other models as well!
why when i print out from silhouette the shape is not accurate. i print round shape but its look misshapen. its look moving from actual shape

What tool are you using to tape/glue the stuff together?
Silhouette Inc. ... the project in the video.
Adhesive tape runner, liquid paper glue in a needle-tip applicator, and foam adhesive dots. It depends on which project you are talking about.
How I can pit the paper they print in plastic😟
SHOULD SEND OUT THIS VIDEO WITH NEW MACHINE
