- For the Gojira cover story of Revolver's new Spring Issue, we knew we had to do something special. So, we enlisted Code Orange ringleader Jami Morgan to do the honors interviewing Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier. The two are label mates on Roadrunner Records, have toured together and have tons of mutual respect. Their free-flowing conversation ranged from Gojira's new album, 'Fortitude,' and the challenges that face modern metal bands to the importance of civil disobedience and the lessons to be learned from indigenous people.

Gojira is next level metal. I'm 52 years old and feel like I have waited my whole life to hear them. They are way ahead of metal bands out there today.
At 32 they were ahead of many Metal Bands too ;)

56, brother. Been on this band since From Mars to Sirius. I heard an updated King Crimson Red-era vibe in them. Joe and crew continue to grow. I would compare Fortitude to Moving Pictures in terms of a band half dozen studio records into their career taking the next step in their song writing.

Code orange and Gojira are both fantastic. It's great to see such an in depth conversation between the two of them.
I couldn't even imagine Gojira playing to a small crowd. Their live sound is ENORMOUS.

Two best metal bands in the world at the moment
Hello from New England...I discovered GOJIRA 4 yrs ago and haven't looked back ..I'm a drummer and Mario's playing opened up my mind so much and having learned 8 GOJIRA I can attest...GOJIRA IS THE BEST METAL BAND IN THE SCENE!!! Peace from the Northeast...
dude these two bands are the strongest forces in metal right now. GOJIRA and Code Orange are both directly responsible for the progression and musical growth of the entire metal genre out of the past and into the future.
Funny the conversation. I grew up w Type O, had the pleasure of meeting Peter, Johnny, and it was always awesome and awe inspiring how Type O was so into producing their own music.
Now this is an interview. Having two musicians who go through the same experiences both artistically and in terms of the career they have. Their views are discussed perfectly with no stupid/cliche repetitive questions and full of empathy.
These interviews are so badass because you can see the chemistry between these dudes as friends and fellow musicians, whereas some interviews are incredibly blunt and awkward since there’s not as much of a connection between the interviewer and interviewee in my opinion.
Jami Morgan seems really critical of himself and his bands sound, I’d love to see more bands open up and collaborate amongst each other, sometimes many bands need some sort’ve direction or perhaps theme and I think bands helping other bands will spark just some killer sounds for the metal genre in general.
Code Orange is really amazing.

Très bonne conversation. When the questions are good it helps to get good answers. Smart thoughts, what we could expect, what we got from this exchange. Fun moments related to some strange questions of some journalists. Good vibes and humor talking about the creation of music, this life, way of life. Interesting stories about the process behind the mix of the album, of some tunes, born for one thing, another World, Amazonia, The Chant. Great solid positive message conveyed through this album. Taking action now, living the moment, activism, creating our own path, embracing the unknown, leap of faith. Taking the first step bringing changes, transformation. Being active instead of passive in front of a brainwashing screen wasting our time, lowering our energy. Fighting warrior spirit needed in this mad World. Going back to the roots of the earth, essential values, what matters. Being in tune with nature. Humanity growing spiritually, awakening. It requires to change, to be aware of things. To stop the spread of the parasite mind. Harmony with the planet, others, the living, the universe, this experience. Planting seeds of hope, having faith. The fight Vs the beast system is not an easy one. Using technology for good. Spiritual battle.
