Clinton, my girlfriend introduced me to this song shortly into our relationship almost 3 years ago. It became "our song" because of how your lyrics described both of us and all we had been through in our lives. Sadly, she passed away in March 2023. I sing this to her whenever I visit her gravesite. While I was listening to this music, I was also typing my "letting go" message to my 5-year relationship. We haven't intentionally met personally. Me and my ex of 2 years used to sing this together all the time, it was quite literally our song and i wish we reached the point of playing this at our wedding. It's only been 2 months since we went our separate ways but it feels like a lifetime ago. And god i wish we could find our way back together someday and give it my everything to make sure we live happy ever after. I've respected her decisions and i'm not begging for her back or bothering her, in the last two months not a single word has been said to eachother. And as much as that silence kills me, i want her to live her life, i don't want to be selfish, i want her to live her happiest life, even if i'm not in it. But the saddest part is that everything i do, i still do for her. Hoping she'll notice how much better i'm doing in life and the greater man i'm becoming for her, for us to do it right this time with nothing holding us back. The problem was that we live 6 hours away and none of us can drive yet and i struggle to find a job, so i'd save every penny so i could get the train to hers every month, so we could be together. But it always ended in tears when i had to go back home, and those moments apart became too difficult for us, i'd have no money left to take care of myself, but i still saved everything so we could meet again asap. I didn't care about myself or my life at home, i just wanted us to be together, because she was my home. I'm happier with her, and i'd always do anything to make that happen. But in the end the time away from eachother became too hard to handle, we struggled to find a way for me to live with her and get a job in her area, but nobody would accept me. And i guess she struggled to see any luck, no possibility for us to be together properly, and found it easier for us to split up and go separate ways in life. But i can't give up that easily, i'm still in hope, i still love her with all my heart, i still want to find a way. Because my life means nothing without her, i'm fed up of crying and thinking about what we could've been, i want to make it happen, i'm going to make it happen. I just hope she doesn't forget about me in that time..

Before this song's official release, I listened to this on repeat and it just inspired me to pour my sincerest feelings on a letter. I've never been in love, but this songs makes me cry happy tears for everybody that knows this feeling that Clinton is talking about.
