Look at IMSA. The GTP cars use electric hybrid systems when in the pits and as soon as the leave, go right back to ICE. It’s fantastic and sounds amazing honestly. Using a hybrid system only for the pits would be a normal addition if they would like to appeal to that market.
Not saying it’s you, but this is just a vendetta against gas vehicles. Let me get this straight. They lowered the horsepower for driver safety, and all that bull crap. But all of a sudden making over 1000 hp with a EV is going to be better for driver safety? Over 1,000 hp is 1000 hp no matter how you make the power.
Peak power, if it's anything like the Hybrids in other series it would give a massive boost to acceleration but relatively little up top, and it was the top-end that the power cuts were meant to reduce.

I have a hot take here, how about nascar don't give a damn about the fans and make it a car-focused series again, but use fuel tank as a limit (not like fuel flow limit in F1). I want to see imbalances, i want to see different strength and weaknesses combinations, and different engineering solutions, open the rule book up for other engines too. In the end it's the fuel that dictates how far and fast you go, you have limits on fuel but you are unlimited in power.

I know this sounds a bit strange, but one needs to ask why this "phenomenon" is happening across the board in all sports and entertainment.... introducing things they all know the fans don't want. Nobody wants as much "replay" as we see in college and pro football, yet the tech keeps coming into the game. In tennis, people want lines people, not computers making calls. Nobody wants replay "challenges" in basketball. Nobody wants "tech" in baseball, yet it keeps coming. There has been no good music in 20 years. Disney has ruined Star Wars. All the great entertainment franchises have been destroyed. Sorry, in order to understand Nascar one must look at trends "across the board," and even then, it takes years to understand.

Yes, but not without massively increasing top-end speed, which the power cuts exist to stop. A hybrid like in other series would provide a massive boost to low-end acceleration without increasing top speeds (much) to what NASCAR deems unsafe.
Don't get political please. I think the only reason NASCAR made a EV car is because of the green new deal. It stated that all cars manufactured would have to be EV's/hybrids by 2030. I think nascar only made this hybrid car because of that.
I am scared for the future of this series. I don't want hybrid cars and engines into the sport and I think this will drive away diehard fans who actually cared about the sport in the first place. And what if this new hybrid car does not attract manufactures? What now? NASCAR should just stick with what they have, and improve what people have already voiced there displesure with (i.e. the car, the playoffs, among other things. I hope this is not a sign of bad things to come.

Nascar has actually grown in the last 2 years and is on a rise in popularity. Your the only one I have found on RUclips saying the opposite....
