that 2008 Richmond race... I saw it live as a child, and I remember I could not sleep afterwards, I still wonder why Richmond could never produce such a race again...
For 2010 they are 2 races that come to mind: Talladaga in the spring and Fall Texas race. The 2010 Aaron’s 499 had the most lead changes of any talladaga race with 88 and an incredibly close finish between Kevin harvick and Jamie McMurray. The fall Texas race had some of the best storylines from Kyle bush flipping off the official to Jeff Burton wrecking Jeff Gordon under caution to Jimmie Johnson replacing his pit crew with Jeff Gordon’s following Jeff Gordon getting wrecked by Jeff Burton.
I was at the 2005 Golden Corral 500.. Everyone including myself were going insane over that finish. If that race was the best in 2005, then the 2005 Coke 600 has to be a close second. IMO
9:07 is that Ryan Newman in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix body with slightly modifyed grill and headlights to look Dodge for Penski!? Also great video. You left out some information about some of these races but it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme because it was such a good video anyways and with some choice choices on the races included, and great job otherwise with the history/context to these.
Great video! I would like to see a 2010s version of this. I started watching in 2010 and would like to see if we think alike on these or if you introduce a difderent perspective to the table. Looking forward to it!
You kinda broke your own rule about finishes when it comes to the 2001 season. The Atlanta race was way better than the July Daytona race because Jr lead all but 40ish laps of the Daytona race and the winner was really never in doubt. Atlanta was wild with more lead changes (25 vs 14 at Daytona), almost had a different first time winner (Blaney broke while leading around the midway point), and you had five cars swapping the lead in the last 20 laps. Daytona has the iconic finish of that season, but it was not a better overall race than Atlanta.
hell, even the Texas race in 2001 was fantastic... but NOBODY talks about it... seriously, go back and watch the last 30 laps. its almost a repeat of atlanta, except there was no photo finish. Just great racing
Great list, I’ve never seen a nascar list video where I didn’t disagree with a single thing. I was briefly afraid you were putting Atlanta 2001 above the 400, though! Now I’m off to rewatch Bristol ’02, I completely forgot how great that one was
When everyone talks about Darlington 2003 Spring Race they always forget about two laps to go. They never show what happened to the lap before in turns 1 and 2.
2001 Daytona 2 was NOT the best race of 2001. Not even close. Maybe not even in the top 5. If we are being truly honest, 2001's most entertaining race start to finish was the Daytona 500. The Spring Talladega race is one of the best races of ALL-TIME. And Spring Atlanta featured some of the best racing a mile and a half track has seen at any point.
We need more HP watching nascar now they seem like there going so slow around the track I loved the 4th generation car and I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I actually like the car of tomorrow idk why but the racing was interesting
You left out what might be the best Talledega tace of all time in 2000 when they had a new aero package and Earnhardt got his final win. It's a good list but most of these arent even close to the best race of every year. Also in 01 the first Atlanta race was waaaayyyyyyyyyyyy better than the Pepsi 400.
I'm sorry but the 2001 Pepsi 400 was not even close to a good race. Very emotional finish, but Atlanta was phenomenal from flag to flag. That and the Daytona 499.5. Before the last corner that was fixing to be the greatest race in history. Also the spring 2008 Richmond race??? Absolutely not. That is the race that ended the golden age of Richmond. There was MAYBE 20 laps of good racing in that race.

Side note: the 2003 Darlington finish literally saved Darlington Raceway.
17:56 same bro, I’d never seen 7 styled like that until I watched nascar

You should definitely do a part 2.
watching this like an hour and a half after the finish of the 2024 Richmond fall race makes your statement a little ironic, but very funny
Some of the new rules around damaged vehicles could also be a reason for the fewer number of debris cautions
Very good point

Do it do the 2010s! Love this video! Good work 😊

Nascar and f1‽ where has this channel been
Great Video you are honestly way better than most Nascar youtubers I have ever watched!!! Would love a part two with the 2010's

Definitely can see the argument for 2001 being Atlanta. Both races were legendary!

Dude only 80 views?! You deserve more…
Oh yeah please make this in a 2010s version it’s epic 😎😎😎
great list, Richmond 2008 is my favourite too

Great videos coming out of this channel! Definitely subbing!

What do you mean this channel only has 600 subs?
It came on autoplay and thought it was from a way bigger channel. Keep up the good work man!
17:54 Huh. I thought i was the only one who thought that too.
Very cool vid my man
goated channel

Yeah most of these weren't the best race of the year
The 2002 Bristol Night Race does not get talked about enough. And in my opinion. It's a better race than 99'
We need more HP watching nascar now they seem like there going so slow around the track I loved the 4th generation car and I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I actually like the car of tomorrow idk why but the racing was interesting
The fact that all of these show that turn left racing is more entertaining than left and right racing that looks like a choo choo fest
Winston 2000 500 best race of the new millennium
2010's please
