Here's any idea for you and your viewers If u take a pillow case put a set of sheet in it you dont have to worry about how fitted sheet looks on shelves or stack then it falls ii keep mine in laundry basket in a closet same with my towels I fold them laundry basket neat not leaning tower I enjoy your videos

Thanks for the inspiration! I'm planning to watch each segment, then go clean that area/item. I did coat closet, and the washing machine- it's a top loader. I am forever scarred by the gunk I just scraped out of the gasket... but my laundry room smells fresh and clean!
Exactly! I live in an older home with detailed trim and have cats so I was using the "cheaper" annoying ones. Tossing some curtains in the wash works better for me. Blinds are a great solution for someone that's in a more modern home with a simpler theme and no pets.
When I moved into my condo I ditched the blinds and it's outstanding. I started cleaning them and went why am I doing this. The open window is so nice and of course I'm on a second floor and no one can see in easily. Blinds are from the '50s I've always thought they looked cheap.
Not regarding this video, but a tip I learned from you is so simple and a game changer! DRY stuff after I wash it. I’m always washing something, then leaving it to air dry- which takes time, leaves something in the wrong place, and then I go do something else and forget about it. No more! Just washed a small lidded container I was changing the purpose of. I DRYED it, and it now contains what I intended. Instead of it just sitting on the counter! Done!
One thing I'd recommend before putting the coats and jackets away in another place (or donating them) is that it might be a good idea to check the pockets first to make sure nothing is in them that you might want (like money or other valuable items that you might even be searching for later). One time I was putting some dishes up in the attic, and without remembering I did it, I had put $100 between 2 of the plates so the money wouldn't accidentally blow away. Needless to say, I forgot I'd put the money there and until we brought the plates down from the attic a couple or so years later, I just thought the money had been lost and was gone. Luckily we still had it, but we just didn't know "where" until then.

When cleaning your closet and put the clothes away place your hangers backwards so the hook opening faces you. Any items you purchase or receive is placed backwards as well. From here on when you wear the item and do laundry place the hanger like normal. In a year when your next spring cleaning comes around all those hangers that are still backwards are items that should be donated. :)

I have just watched one of your old videos on MICROFIBER and is very impressed with the wealth of information. It is a great guide for selecting a piece of microfiber for a particular use. You are fantastic in your presentations, in that you will make people feel to clean. Great work.
Great video, thank you. Of note, Consumer Reports does not recommend using vinegar in the washing machine. It is corrosive to all rubber and soft parts. They have extensively studied this.
I lined the bottom of my oven with heavy duty aluminum foil (kind used for BBQ) shiny side up. When it's dirty, I just throw it away and reline with new. Also, the oven door slides off the hinges so it isn't in your way when cleaning the oven. Also, my stovetop lifts up on hinges so I can clean under the burners, it even has a bar to hold the top up, like the bar on your car that holds the hood up when working on your car engine.

Life hack for keeping your washing machine cleaner: take a clothespin and clip it on the washing machine’s door where the latch is (for front loading washers. Idk about top loading one). This clip props the door open just a little bit which allows the washer to dry out and helps prevent mold/fungus/other gross stuff from developing!
I also dislocated my dominant shoulder 2 years ago, what a life changer....even though I've had surgery I cannot lift things to eg put pots back into the upper kitchen cupboards. You have my sympathy.

Thank u for mentioning the self cleaning oven fumes and birds. This could save a birds life!! You are correct they can die from these fumes and certain cleaning products, they have very sensitive respiratory systems ❤️
So I just cleaned my mini blinds and I came close to tossing them. However, I sprayed them with 3/4 water and 1/4 dishwasher detergent, then wiped with microfiber cloths. While it is very sudsy, they were the easiest to clean of any other technique I have tried. I worked from the top and I worked in sections. When I tried to do a whole length of blind, it was too slippery to hold onto. So I did one half all the way down, then the other half. Wow, they are clean! Then I used a environmental cleaner and did the windows. So happy I found something that worked for me. Loving my microfiber towels!
Enjoying your spring cleaning marathon. Do you have a Monthly Do? I notice some of the Spring Cleaning you do are things I could never let a year go by. I guess common sense will tell you when your washer gets icky or doesn't do it's job, cleaning is my answer, which I do about once a month. Usually I just dump in a bucket of soap water and wash it with a broom. It's tall-ish, me, not so much. Always fun to make diy cleaners. Happy Springs

Agreed. I had a front loader and found the method Melissa talks about easier to do. But now I have a top loader and using a store bought cleaner is just easier to do

Just an FYI tea tree oil (melaleuca) is toxic to cats and birds so please don't use it around them, if it is ingested or even gets on them it can turn bad quickly! Great video Melissa and Chad!! I have been using vinegar on my rinse cycle for 4 yrs now and the washing machine was at least 5 yrs old when we moved in anyway the gasket looks like new.
