My husband and i had a staycation this week and in 7 days we changed this house completely. Cleaning under everything...each sofa, each rug, rearranging furniture, getting rid of my 2 girls beds, buying new bed frames 4 them, discarding old rugs2 and replacing a piece in disrepair. You also inspired me to go through both upstairs closets, coat and linen. Whew! Amazing. The girls cleaned their bedrooms, riding my coattails.
When I was younger (I’m 67 now) I could deep clean the whole house in hours. I also worked as a maid and honed my craft. Now, I have physical limitations and limited energy.

46 with severe fibro. Used to slam a house out. Now I just do a lil everyday and try to keep it up. I know I use to much cleaners I'm sure.
I too have fibromyalgia. Cleaning and laundry and cooking take a back seat. It’s depressing.
I didn’t see this til today. I was released from the nursing home 2weeks ago.
Trying to unpack dirty stuff (my brothers and father moved me out and to storage.
I’ve got fibromyalgia and degenerative arthritis. I can only stand about 5 minutes til excruciating pain makes me sit down.
I’m trying to get stuff done but is taking forever
I have a friend that had a saying, "When my friends drop by it’s to visit with me, not check up on the accumulated dust." The minute I sat down and really thought about that saying, I realized she was right. Like you mention, not a pigsty but a bit of dust won’t kill anybody. My most important is no leaving stuff laying out for nothing, not ever. I even got my hubby used to it. Example, when we go to bed, when we get up we gather any dishes or trashing laying around us and place it where it should be - so enjoyable getting up in the morning and everthing is at its place. Then when you decide to dust/clean. Nothing is out of place…just go for it.
I love how you say we all have different needs and abilities. Don’t forget about us elderly and disabled. I use to be able to clean the whole house in a day. Now I can only do a room a day. We face so much shame for not being able to keep up.

I empathize with you. Age has it's way of making you change how things get done. And, well, the eyesight isn't quite so discerning any more, ha!
I’m 73 and It is certainly true that we do not have the energy we used to, but in the other hand we are wiser and have learned to keep home better organized. Saturdays were deep cleaning days spent with my mom and sister. We had our usual cleaning/domestic tasks, laundry, etc. while chatting about life, our dreams, our disappointments. We paused for tea before continuing our cleaning. Now that I live alone I miss those bonding moments so this video was great for me. It was like cleaning with a new companion 😊 Hope you will have some more videos like this in the future.

I did laundry and cleaned my bedroom. Almost got all the laundry done. I loved this style. I worked beside you and learned some good tips while doing it. ♥️♥️♥️
Video got my butt moving on doing a deep clean on my main bathroom - it's been in need of it more than usual because for a while we had it under, um, construction we will call it (caulking issues, vanity light fell off in a way that required us to get creative as to not cut into drywall to hang it again - everything happened at once lol). Feels good to see it actually clean. By the end of this video I've done everything but the bath tub. Just felt right to leave that till the end, which I'll do once my floors have dried. Needed an excuse for a small coffee break lol.
I confess, I did not clean in this power hour. It is too late in my place for that but I really used your video to make notes. You shared sooo many great recipes for dealing with stuff that I thought are simply undoable (is this a word?). Now I have hope and feel motivated to deal with those things that bothered me for a loong time. You packed so much info in this video. It is priceless. Thank you!
Checking in at the 10 minute mark. Have been following since 2014 when I started living alone for the first time and I needed to figure out the most effective way to clean a toilet. Used first 10 minutes to take notes and begin tidying my living room, cause I know that's wave 1 ❤ love the format. Thank you for sharing your cleaning knowledge.
I'm alone now too. Actually the toilet stays so much cleaner without a man around!!
I have a unique opportunity while my housemate is on vacation to deep clean our family room. I am using your methods that I have learned over the past 10 years and going top to bottom and left to right. I washed the couch covers and vacuumed all the cushions and now I am down to baseboards and floor. It already feels so much better in here! Thanks Melissa for all the encouragement and wonderful tips.

I was so happy when I received the notification the 3 wavs system helped me so much I have adhd but I'm not longer intimedated by the mess I know that I have to return clean stuff to their place throw trash and start cleaning left to righit up to down it's graved in my brain can never thank you enough , you gabe me cleaning motivation right now I'll start cleaning my kitchen before I sleep 😅
I love your 10 minute challenge also. Many times one action begets another. My house stays imperfect, but that's okay. We live here. I plan on having more company in the near future and upkeep is always an issue. Best of luck. Thanks for the ideas❤
Hey!!!! New here. I had a baby this year and also have a 5 year old so I definitely don’t have a lot of time to spend cleaning anymore. We also moved when I was in my 3rd trimester and exhausted so I’m just now getting around to organizing things the way I want them and decluttering. Thank you for your advice and this channel!

Since I was able to get in on the recent Dyson V12 stick vacuum, I've been loving vacuuming the carpets. It deeply gets it clean. I wish it came with tongs to pull the long hair trapped in the bin.
A good vacuum can makwe all the difference!

Loved this video. Wondering if it is better to keep certain microfiber cloths for each chore and then launder them separately.
Learned recently if you use Saran Wrap covering a cleaning solution while marinating. It will stay wet longer to keep activating. Great use in ovens. I reuse the piece of Saran Wrap by rinsing it off.

I listen to the entire video and I learned a lot. I do have a sugestión for a video. I’m living in a se one floor apartment and I have a hard time discerning how to clean the windows. I’m about to purchase one of those magnetic tools but I don’t see great reviews about them. PLEASE!!!! Any sugestión? The windows are the guillotine ones, I can lift one and clean the outside top part but the one that moves up I can’t clean the outside. Sorry, this is a long explanation and I don’t know if I described it correctly. Thank you and I’ll be watching your videos to see if you have a suggestion ❤

@@cleanmyspace hahahaha long story short… I am Brazilian/Spanish (I was born in Brazil but my parents are Spanish) moved to Canada in 2015 (from Brazil) because of my husband’s work, planning to live there for maximum of 5 years, but got pregnant, there, decided to apply for the permanent residency, pandemic hit, permanent residency became a nightmare, I was literally getting sick, my mental health went down hill, spending lots of money with lawyers, and in November 2022 my permanent residency application was denied, lawyers came up with a plan to take the case to the court, but that wasn’t an option for me, that PR application was my decision point, my husband and where working in very good jobs 🙌 (I still work for the same company) paying sky high tax, we where ready to buy our first home, I had no patience or willingness to keep fighting for documents, I was so done… We left Canada in December 2022, we were open to stay in Brazil or moving to Spain (old dream of mine for obvious reasons, I guess) and since I was able to get a position in Madrid, we decided to give it a try and Spain is amazing, I mean, it’s a country, with it’s own benefits and issues, like any other, but so far so good! Actually I’ve met a few Canadians here, one of them I recognized because they were carrying a Calgary Coop reusable bag, and I recognized, I was quite funny situation actually! And that’s the very very very short version of my story! 🤣
And your Chanel helped me a lot when I was SAHM and I had a big home to clean all by myself, You and the Clutterbug were my very favorites! Changed my cleaning habits for good! Thank you so much! 🙏 and thank you for answering! 🧹🧽

I was surprised you didn’t use the Maker’s Mop for cleaning the wall or baseboard.
I already cleaned so I watched while working
I clean my outside screens easily by leaving them in the windows.I take a long handle brush that you wash you're car with.I brush them with a bucket full of soap and water.I rinse them with the garden hose.
