What FANTASTIC vocalists. You three are incredibly talented and I love this series. Any Sunday with Michael Tan and nosbo2007 releases is a great Sunday!
Just dropping a note to say that you are all wonderful and have brightened my morning. As well as being a useful educational video, it's so much more. You are all talented musicians and singers with a gorgeous blend and sensitivity, All the styles and timbres that you found together to represent each song were perfect and it's nicely filmed you look great and obviously enjoy what you are doing and what's more are sharing that joy with others, myself included, who are missing making music - thank you so much :) Craig.
This Is What It Feels Like is a personal favorite - very rare for an EDM song to have changing time signatures like that! Props to Armin van Buuren and Trevor Guthrie for letting the melody guide them and breaking the mold. Also, the Fairground cover was awesome. Loved the recreation of the Give It Up sample!
Your performances are great (the percussion for Fairground was very cool) but it always shows me that I know absolutely nothing about music theory and time signatures. I can't even tell the difference when it switches haha. Sitting here like a dumb-ass, still liking it.
Super Freak can be one.. That girl's alright with meeeeeeeeee Also I have an idea for part 17 in samples Maybe you can do Sang and Dance by the Bar Kays and Will Smith's Gettin Jiggy Wit It Na na na na na na na
Armin Van Buuren - This Is What It Feels Like ft. Trevor Guthrie Such an underrated song... when I first heard it I got memories of something that never happened lmao
Wait. You aren't the singer in these videos? I honestly just assumed that you were since it's your own channel. My mistake. Lol, can't wait for the next samples video.
Since it's a consistent pattern could you also think of Logical Song as being in 10/4, with a 4, 4 and 2 subdivision of the pulse, instead of time changes every third bar?
Thanks for commenting... what you say is true, and this could be said for a lot of these songs! But when counting or playing along to a pop song, no one feels it "in 10"... it's pretty much always 2, 3, 4 or 6.
I have an idea for you for your sample videos, how about Mantronix's King Of The Beats (Original) having the drums sampled in Snap's The Power Thank you
haven't heard of it, listening now! (UPDATE) Hmm that instrumental section does sound like it has a half-bar but when I count it, it seems to stay in 4/4!
Michael Tan Ohhhh! How about The Real World by Owl City? I’m sure that has an irregular time signature? Sorry if I’m being a bit annoying lol I’m just a huge fan of Owl City and seeing him in one of these videos would honestly be quite cool!

The fairground one was my fave! I’ve been looking for that particular song for ages, and I never knew the lyrics!

Solsbury Hill was a nice pick, probably the most commercial 7/4 song

GAH and I just realised I misspelt it! haha

Finding a Supertramp song was a real treat! Sadly it’s not a very well known group, but they made some very nice music.
