Hi Dave and Logan ... Beautiful walk ... Wonderful walk through those trees. Yes very atmospheric! That barn in the field!!!! Beautiful! We said to each other, as you opened your sarnies, Logan will like those! Haha! Thank you!😊
What a beautiful day to go for a walk. Scenery is gorgeous and the village and its history is so interesting. Thanks Dave and Logan for a wonderful walk. 👏🏻💕
That used to be my favourite walk from Gussage All Saints up to the Sixpenny Handley road, I walked it in all winds & weathers & never tired of being there it's a very spiritual place, thanks again Dave for the video.
What a super walk Dave ,the clouds and blue skys mmm 👍.Love the details on the old Butchers shop .Logan makes me laugh ,its as if he knows were he is going out in front.
What a beautiful walk, love that way, but not been there for a few years. Love how the clouds looked in the blue sky! And nice to see the hares. Thank you for sharing :)
Another lovely walk. Thank you for sharing. Have walked along the Roman road just to the east along Vernditch Chase, we couldn’t find the boundary stone there either. Definitely a wonderful location.
Hello, Don't know where to look the rolling hills the fields the sky. all is so beautiful. Nice long walk after not going for a walk in some time. I know that you were. working on your history. Thank you for a nice walk. sorry no pub near bye. see ya.
Really love the video , superb bit of countryside. We looked at Six Penny when we moved out of Verwood twenty years ago but went for Fordingbridge for access reasons. Sometimes I wish we'd gone for it, especially when I drive out past thru Tollard Royal and Zigzag hill en route to the a303 and the Cornish motherland. Genuinely I think Dorset is the UKs prettiest county.
Packed full of beauty and interest! Thank you! I always thought place names ending ey might have a link to a island landscape i.e Selsey, Ely etc - perhaps higher land in a marshy area. Seems not in this case though - loved all the layers of history from prehistory though Roman to village history and defunct shops (and sadly pubs...). Well done to you and Logan for a marathon exploration!
Thanks Dave and Logan. Such lovely weather after a lot of cold and wet. Really special clouds and sky from 16 minutes. Thanks for another easy-for-us sofa walk 😊
Wow Dave! Surely an Oscar-winning performance of "Looking For Earthworks", Cumberbatch eat your heart out. And Logan must be up for Supporting Actor. Lovely walk in lovely sunshine Dave, you can pick 'em. I'm sorry Logan didn't get his crisps to reward his effort though, and I think a dog chew bears poor comparison to a ham and cheese sandwich. And then you nicking (or necking) his water! The RSPCA will hear of this.
Thanks Dave. Glorious weather for a walk (we haven't had many of those this year). What are you sitting on at the final destination? Looks like some kind of bridge. I found the butchers shop in Sixpenny Henley rather interesting, because the one and only time I've been to the village was in the mid 90s, when I took one of my Highland cattle there to a small slaughterhouse in the village. I'm wondering if that was the place?
May I recommend southampton - the American wall, tudor house and garden, westgate hall, titanic pub, the old walls etc. & wool & bovingdon area - river, wool bridge and tank museum
Like you, we also criticized Frederick Treves until quite by accident we discovered that he had rescued the grossly distorted Elephant Man from a circus and looked after him until he died.
Thank you Muriel. Yes I always take water for both myself & Logan. Indeed there were two clips in the video where you can see me giving water to Logan in his own portable water bowl. So important - especially when the weather is warm.
@@DaveFord yes, I wrote earlier in the video after having watched another of your long walks where I thought Logan looked thirsty. I do wonder about some of the dogs I see hiking the mountains... I marvel at your stamina.
Thank you Dave and Logan 😊
Thanks Steve. :)

Thank you John. I think it is one of my favourite areas too. I especially liked the section of Roman road under the trees.

Thank you Ellie. We were certainly lucky with the weather for our walk.
Really enjoying your walks. I have a lot to catch up on ..

Another lovely walk. Thank you for sharing. Have walked along the Roman road just to the east along Vernditch Chase, we couldn’t find the boundary stone there either. Definitely a wonderful location.
Thank you. yes, I haven't had much luck with locating boundary stones on my recent walks!

Thank you Lavinia. Yes, no pub but we had a lovely picnic that made up for it!
Another great video Dave.
Thank you & indeed thanks for watching.

Do you think this routes doable on a push bike in dry weather?
I would say that the route would not be suitable for a push bike.
It is certainly a pretty area for sure!
@@DaveFord ah thanks, walking boots it is then!

Thanks Jean. I think that was our longest walk in the series so far .... just as well we took some lunch!
Lovely stuff!
Thank you Ian. Hope you are fit & well.
@@DaveFord yes, all well here thanks Dave. You’re obviously hale and hearty with all the walking!
Thanks Dave and Logan. Such lovely weather after a lot of cold and wet. Really special clouds and sky from 16 minutes. Thanks for another easy-for-us sofa walk 😊
Thank you Cathy. :)
Hey Dave, could have gone into Budgens to buy the beer and crisps at the end... 😅
Oh yes - I didn't think of that!
Such a lovely day, thanks for taking us along Dave !
Thank you Gareth
Many thanks Dave. Lots of history, curiosities and fantastic views packed into this video. 😊
Thank you Rachel.

Thanks. Ah ha ..... I seem to recall that Logan did indeed finish off one of the sandwiches (off camera)!
Dad was from Martin and played football for Handley in the 1940s.
Lovely that you have a family connection with the village. Thanks for watching.

I was looking at moving back there, but I'm sad to hear that the Roebuck has closed....another local bites the dust!

I am not sure what we were sitting on. It might have been part of an old farm building - it was towards the side of a field.
May I recommend southampton - the American wall, tudor house and garden, westgate hall, titanic pub, the old walls etc. & wool & bovingdon area - river, wool bridge and tank museum
Thank you for the recommendation - an area for the next series for sure. Thanks for watching.
Like you, we also criticized Frederick Treves until quite by accident we discovered that he had rescued the grossly distorted Elephant Man from a circus and looked after him until he died.
Yes indeed - his book about the "Elephant Man" is such an interesting read.
lovely walk. i could do without the music. I enjoy your commentary. hope you have water for Logan.
