Shut the machine off, then turn the key back on. Turn off the "Park" button so the hydraulics are live but the motor is off. Rock the switch a few times and the pressure will release in the hoses.
You did something similar with the levers before the electronic age electric over hydraulic switches. Now you release the pressure by shutting the machine down and cutting off the park pressure, and rock them toggles baby rock them toggles.
Another interesting vid by you guys. Little mechanical tip. The keyway is the slots the key (thepart you changed goes in. If you go anywhere to buy one and ask for a keyway they'll be laughing about in the break room. It's like telling a rookie aircraft mechanic to get some prop wash, flight line and other nonexistent items from the parts department.
Fertilizer is so "corrosive" on any equipment. The "come-along" permanently mounted is a great idea. You two make it look like fun - even when we all know it is anything but.
Being a bobcat you should just have to push in on the connections and the pressure will release. Took me a bit to figure it out but it actually works pretty well
On releasing hoses on skid steer . Machine off key on press parking brake so hydraulic disengagement light turns off and toggle the switch to start mower back and forth and will release pressure. Also pressing in hoses before as u release them will bleed off extra pressure
Thank you for your U Tube as like to see you have a good time working on the farm. I pray for and all your family. Your Dad and Mom like to have drive to hit all the DEER the pick up and the car don't like it. You make my day. In Kitchener Ontario Canada have snow for two days and is it 5 f and Wednesday will be high 14 f with snow.to Friday it will snow it will be 21f so I will keep the snow for you. Take care of you.
I appreciate you guys so much. No matter what "hell" faces you guys in a day, your spirits and humor seems to stay high. (Maybe due to your editing). I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's, so it's cattle country here. 40 miles south-west by Sacramento, its farm country. Sitting in a parking lot, I saw a John Deere rig go by with a tillage setup. Thanks to Duggo, I knew what it was. I also, by "accident," watched another farmer with tires, not tracks, trying to pull an overloaded grain cart in the mud. I thought, "that guy should watch Larson Farms. He could learn something." Anyway and always.... thanks.
Right on Mike. My sentiments also. I live in Connecticut and my brother and I hay a few acres compared to these big guys. Yes it amazing how much I now know about harvesting equipment from just watching these guys. Good luck to you in your neck of the woods.
When releasing the hoses shut off the skidsteer. Pump the hydrolic switch back and forth it realses the pressure. Do that when u hook them up and un hook then
I really enjoy your videos. I can't imagine that mud that you guys deal with. Did you let Cole know about the farm auction that takes place this weekend? His farm definitely needs some GREEN equipment. They bought a lemon. Great music today in your video.
That coupler block is made to attach and release under pressure. The key is to push in and hold for a couple seconds to bleed pressure off your attachment. If you push and snap the hoses off quick like that, you’ll struggle to reconnect the next time unless you crack the lines and bleed oil off.
then couple the attachments hoses together so they can equalize and wont run into the issue of going to reattach the implement and you cant get one hose on.
Doug do yourself a favor and take your cutter blade to a shop that does cobalt spraying, it's best to take a new set of blades in to have this procedure done, what it is they will take your blades and heat them in a salt bath oven till about 800 to 900 degree F, then they take one blade out and then start heating the cutting edge of the blade to about white hot around 2,500F then under high pressure around 120 psi they will spray cobalt onto the cutting edge of the blade and they will repeat the process over and over until they know they have built the proper thickness around 15 to 20 thousands then the blade will be quenched in oil for cooling and this should give you a hardness of about 60 Rockwell C around the hardness of a center punch or a metal drill bit, in the long run it will save a lot of down time and expense, this procedure is usually done in a welding shop, check it out I believe you will be glad you did, good luck Doug..."Larson Farm Quality at its Finest"...
Thanks fellas for another humorous an great vlog. Your SOHs are an uplift each time I watch. Love n all the best for the New Year to all the family, Fan from Downunda.
Never put yourself in a situation that you could jeopardize your heath. Anything mechanical can and will fail in due time always assume that it will bite you. Just like an old school pto shaft, that will f you up with no remorse. Stay safe boys and girls.
You just can't have nice thing's, stuff breaking all the time. You guy's are funny giving Dougo such a hard time. I think we all go through times of having stuff break, house, car's, digicals, and pretty much anything that plugs in, drive's, or you live in lol.God bless, good thing you have the winter to fix on everything. God bless.
In my 43 years on this earth nothing has given me more grief than faulty battery terminals especially grounds! Dougo is gonna have to spend all of Christmas break scrubbing that floor...oh my!
You don't have to shut machine off. Make sure aux hyd. Is off, push in on hoses which makes it release to case drain hose. Then unhook. It's real simple.
We use the shut the machine down then push in hard on each hose one at a time til “hissing” sound goes away and pressure releases method. Of course after releasing pressure we disconnect the hose. Then it will hook up easier next time.
Wouldn't putting the shovel down under the trapdoor, BEFORE you started to 🤣TRY🤣 opening it be a FANTASTIC IDEA.?🤔? Then you wouldn't be surprised when a huge ruckus occurs when a massive rock jams something somewhere, because it didn't happen.!!!. 🤔🧐🥴🤣🤔🧐🥴🤣🤔🧐🥴🤣 LOVE THE VIDS.🧐🥰, KEEP'EM COMING.🤞🥰. RICH(UK).😁😋🥰.
Chet Eric dougo that was the best learned alot that really enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time We have to start washing and repairing all the equipment for next year.
Everyone working on the farm has clean cloths. Reminds me of the old westerns we see on TV. They ride in the dust, the horses should be sweating like crazy, but they are all spotless unless they are in a fight on the ground.
Not sure about a botcat but on a cat skid steer theres a rocker switch that has a bucket on it you can release the pressure or you can use the rocker switch that works the grapple on one of yalls attachments to release the pressure. Put the attachemnt down on the ground turn the engine off turn the key on do a few circles withe the joystick then use the rocker switch that works the grapple or that rocker switch with the bucket on it either one or both at the same time and watch the hydraulic lines on the attachment for them to jump if they dont jump they still have pressure on them and you have to do it all again and use the attachement then start over again with those steps hopefully that all makes sense and helps so yall dont have to crack the nut on the metal lines to fet them back on the harder it jumps the easier it is to get them on and off. Thats how i use to do it for years
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting. You are having a streak of things breaking on you. Oh my. Seems a fertilizer spreader always has trouble due to rusting from the fertilizer. You and Eric got it going, good job. Fertilizer all done for 2021. Ya!!!!!!!’ Toby looks good. Give him a pet from me. Good dog. The pressure on the hoses in the disconnect can be less by moving joy stick back and forth quickly or some units have a auxiliary switch to relieve pressure. Might work. Everyone is different on that. Sounded like Dougo was having some struggle bus problems. He will get it figured out I am sure. Go Dougo!!!!!’ About it I guess. Will leave you guys alone. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.
On your load king lowboy get yourself a 2'x2' plywood to lay on the ground so the neck goes down on it, keeps the dirt off of the grease from 5th wheel.
Those bobcat couplers have pressure realease built in. After shutting the machine down release the pressure in the machine. Before disconnecting the lines push the line and both fittings back towards the machine. The assembly should go back abit and release any left over pressure in the tool
As long as you put it on after making the electrical connection. Best bet is to use NOCO NCP2 battery terminal protection washers around the terminal posts. They work fantastic at blocking the acid from creeping up onto the terminals. I buy them by the gross.
Wiinter video idea - recap some choices made in operations/equipment and generate some feedback from all involved on if they were worth it, pluses/minuses. Always interesting to see how hopes/plans pan out - what you'd do again, recommend/not recommend...
1:52 Release pressure in bobcat I know nothing about skid steers but in some loaders you shut it off turn only ignition on and move lever for that hydraulic
Electrical problem? Always start with the battery. But I am pretty sure you guys knew that, just forget to think logic for a moment Happens to the best of us.
Chet , Simple and cheap solution to resolve your issues while trying to open the gate on fertilizer trailer go buy and mount a boat trailer winch mounut it on the frame or support on trailer run cable to and back thought a snatch block to double your pulling strength , keep the snatch block in the trailer tool box That's what I did on our fertilizer trailers gravitty bed gates . Cost you $45 per trailer and 30 mins of your time and in the long run saves you hours and headache Merry Christmas ! Kyle
Chet and Eric Crack me up. 😂 much respect for both of them!
The way Chet questioned the numbers to the paper is totally a Dougism. Like father like son!!
What he said! Haha
Prayers for this American Farming Family. Always say a special prayer for Chet and Toby.
I never run short when you are not around, haha felt of my chair of laughing..
Thanks for the video. Always fun to watch you guys.
Not a farmer, but enjoy the content of your day to day follies.....well done, Great family....great program....!
I am thrilled to watch that land being being cared for and fertilized, I know I made the right decision.
I can definitely relate to this title!
It's always gotta be a struggle right to the end. Now get Dougo on Martin and clean that shop up😜
God Bless y'all from the Vogelaar family,. Michigan
awesome video Chet. Love see you and Erik fixing things. Great job you guys
Never a dull moment on the farm!!
Nice Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby reference there Erik
Great conversation between Chet and Eric, they could go on tour!
Talladega nights! 😂😂 great movie you need to see it Chet 👍
Chet and Eric when you 2 are together your rambling cetions are the greatest, and dougos rambling by himself is hilarious
A little struggle bus ride but y'all weathered the storm and GOT-R-DUN. God Bless? Great Channel
Some days are better than others when it come to farming
Another interesting vid by you guys.

Am so very very very glad you are all well!!
You two are a hoot👍👍👍😂😂😂
Hey Chet, the reason Dougo is so bossy on Mondays is because he got bossed around all weekend. 😆
My dad was a farmer in Iowa and I always thought he was more of a mechanic than farmer. Seems like there is always something to fix on equipment
As my dad says it when we do something more than once when because it breaks, "it was so fun the first time, lets do it again." Great video!
The Tobster :) :) he would love hanging out on the beach of cape cod at our house :) :)
You and Eric are so funny together, that rye midwestern humor cracks me up.
Toby man is awesome !
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them comin
Erik's easy bs is worth the price of admission!
Love the videos chat its so nice that u have a great relationship with your dad
Fertilizer is so "corrosive" on any equipment. The "come-along" permanently mounted is a great idea. You two make it look like fun - even when we all know it is anything but.
Enjoyed the struggles
Being a bobcat you should just have to push in on the connections and the pressure will release. Took me a bit to figure it out but it actually works pretty well
Same here on my 2018 case skiddy. Gotta push in on them pretty hard and it will release the pressure
On releasing hoses on skid steer . Machine off key on press parking brake so hydraulic disengagement light turns off and toggle the switch to start mower back and forth and will release pressure. Also pressing in hoses before as u release them will bleed off extra pressure

Button on top of hat is the "happy button".
The struggle bus seems to be the only ly thing on the farm working to specs. I laughed when Chet told BS that he takes up too much room. 🤣
Love your show very good.
I an in East Coast Australia 🇦🇺
Make sure you shut aux hydraulic off and push the couplers in and that will release the pressure

Hello around
Well, you gotta take it with humor and sarcasm otherwise you will go crazy. Been there done that, not gonna happen again.
When releasing the hoses shut off the skidsteer. Pump the hydrolic switch back and forth it realses the pressure. Do that when u hook them up and un hook then
Yup that's what you do with all hydraulics... bleed off the pressure...
Its called putting them in float
@@mikekleven8130 I new it has a name like that I just couldn't remember it
Southwestern Ontario, button on top is called a smartie. Which is Canadian for M&M’s.
nice lookin lad with cap n sunglasses
Great job spreading fertilizer Big Swede
Push in on the quick connections where the hoses connect to the machine for a couple seconds each releases the pressure!
Im glad I’m not the only one who has issues with fert reckoning everything. JUNK!!! Thanks for the videos
The struggle bus was in full effect with this video 🤣
Great video Chet Dougo and Big Swede
So glad to see the 300k pass
I really enjoy your videos. I can't imagine that mud that you guys deal with.

To relive the pressure on the hydros on the skid steer you have to push in the button opposite of horn with the hydros off
In my 43 years on this earth nothing has given me more grief than faulty battery terminals especially grounds! Dougo is gonna have to spend all of Christmas break scrubbing that floor...oh my!
One key way …..almost ruined the big Swedes day! Glad he got done. And Chet makes a handy camera holder!lol
The things we do to keep the business rolling. I may not be able to fix everything but I have never been intimidated not to try.

We spread 40,000 acres this year. I feel your pain with corrosion. We wore out everything
Push in on the hose at the couplers before unhooking them. It will bleed the pressure off.
Put little grease on battery terminals to keep corrosion from building up so quick.
Great videos keep it up 👍
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting.

Hi Chet I’m your biggest fan I love the vids, my dream is to be a farmer you guys teach me a lot about farming
Coming from a custom operator for many years it always comes out just right.
My father always put Vaseline on the terminals to stop corrosion and dirt getting in. A trick he learned working on the dew line in the early 60's.
Grease works too
Also another trick is to drill a hole in a penny and screw it to the terminals
As long as you put it on after making the electrical connection. Best bet is to use NOCO NCP2 battery terminal protection washers around the terminal posts. They work fantastic at blocking the acid from creeping up onto the terminals. I buy them by the gross.

Hi toby chet Erik dougo yep winter is here. Did you guys get snow Fargo got on 5th and 6th Dec ?
On your bobcat there should be a pressure relief button up in the corner with your other switch’s I think some of them were a yellow color
1:52 Release pressure in bobcat
I know nothing about skid steers but in some loaders you shut it off turn only ignition on and move lever for that hydraulic
You guys need bump cap for your hats. They are like a hardhat but not. Would be nice to have for a "shop" hat.
Shoulda been called The Return of the Struggle Bus!
Chet, I think you might find a hard hat useful…😇
Great video thanks

Enjoyed your video Chet!! It sure was good to see Toby!! You take care of yourself and ber carful!!!
There’s a little ball on one of them that you align with the slot and the other one you push the slot back and pull the hose off
if you push the hydraulic couplers in before you unhook them it releases the pressure
Is it me or does the videos keep getting better every time they come out?
