    I've been riding bikes for 50 years and for the last 5 also a Forza 300, best buy I ever made. I know a few people in their 70s who have the Forza 125, all think it is a brilliant scooter that helps keep them on two wheels. Well done Honda.

    I’ve ridden motorcycles since 1967 and got a Vespa scooter as a third bike a few years ago. I love the light weight and carrying capacity. It has been a great commuter bike and grocery getter. Great fun and I find that I ride it more than I expected. Thanks Flyer.

    I've owned two of these the last one did 15k miles in a year of ownership I used it on motorways, A roads, duel carriageways everything, it was ridden infinitely more than my CBR600F, and CRF250L. Traded it for a NC750, I miss it so much it's imperative I get another. Great review thanks for the reminder of what I'm missing.

    Thanks for this excellent review. I appreciate your fearless enthusiasm. Too many reviewers feel compelled to not like anything and their reviews are fault-finding exercises, so nothing sounds very good. The "cons" you noted -- limited storage and wind protection -- are important for a prospective buyer to know about. But you did not allow them to stop you from loving an excellent bike.

    I started off with scooters back in the sixties, there wasn’t any weather protection on them then.
    This is simply great value though, similar money to an electric push bike but nearly 5x as fast and all that storage space. Great reviews Andy.

    I started riding on a PCX had it for 3years commuting to work and back ,what an awesome bike like you said cheap to run cheap tax and easy to work on.A bigger after market screen helped alot in the bad weather it was fun to ride and never let me down. After gaining riding experience i moved on to the Faorza 125 its a bit bigger in size but you can't through it about like a PCX. Cheers ride safe.

Eventually traded mine in for a bigger new bike and now I wish I had kept it as a town bike, fun brilliant little performer in the town traffic. P.S My PCX came with a Honda larger front screen that the previous owner had brought so it was better in the rain.

    Good to see you covering a few small capacity scooters. I'm a big fan, having ridden my son's Honda Forza 125 and Yamaha Nmax. I've also owned a couple of modern Vespa Scooters (200 and 300cc) and absolutely loved them. They make perfect sense for a lot of transport requirements and are immensely fun to ride. Although I'm in a 1200cc Triumph now, I would happily own another scooter. Ever considered reviewing one of the 300cc Vespa models?

    I've got the predecessor to the PCX, the Pantheon, and it just keeps going and going. It's 15 years old and due an MOT in the next week or so, I have no doubts about whether it will pass. In nearly four years of owning it it has needed a starter motor and that's all. I call it my Sherpa because of the amount of stuff I can get under the seat and in the top box.

    just got a 2018 model with 4000 miles and I have to say I am really enjoying it, a lot of fun and I cant believe how stable this is to ride at walking pace in traffic. My only real gripe is the finish is a bit poor, I have plastered the center and side stands with hammerite straight to rust paint which makes them look a lot better, I also did the underside of the frame with it as well to give it some protection from the British weather, the forks stanchions are another area that need a bit of tlc to stop the pitting.

    Thanks Andy, great review etc. I'm currently driving an sh125, and considering the pcx. Apart from a couple of negatives, no doubt a great scooter. Athough I think the chrome handlebars with the exposed wiring, could be tidied up. The Yamaha n max and recently launched Suzuki burgman ex, have a neater set up. If i go for a pcx i'll put a top box on, to accommodate a helmet. 🤔

    I rented a PCX150 [ the new one is a 160+hybrid! woohoo ] recently for 2 weeks. Everything you say is true, the build and ride quality are truly superb. At a bit over six feet tall, I found the seating position a bit cramped. If I owned one I'd need to adjust the reach. The keyless ignition/remote is maybe good in an urban environment, but here on a tropical island a real security issue when you want to take a swim. Usually I loop my bike key through the pocket lanyard on my boardshorts... Not sure how the budgie smuggler riders get on either way!

    Placed an order for mine, should be with me at the end of February according to my local Honda dealer. Those two negatives mentions can be solved by usage of a top box and an extended windscreen which Honda sell or you can buy aftermarket parts. I've seen people mention that placing their helmet upside down sometimes helps with storing their helmet under the seat with some models.

    The only downer I can see is them modern plastic midi & maxi styled scooters is all the plastic ,when you have to remove it .It’s a right pain .I have a similar one made by Malaguti with a Yamaha mirranelli engine in cost me £ 2,899 •00 about 21 years ago ,Even then it would do 75 mph down a slight incline on clock .with two valve 12•2 hp LC engine .I got it to use as a runabout & motorised shopping trolly ,as it had a massive under seat capacity ( 2 helmets ). Ideal for beer & drive thru burger runs .Of course time has moved on & the PCX is more up to date tech wise & much better fuel economy for its performance .I find these type of scooters very comfortable to the point where you can easily nod off asleep .It’s a Honda say no more ,it will run forever with regular oil changes.👍

    Great review 👍 I couldn't agree with you more about the PCX. Probably one of the best daily commuters around. Plus your only 2 negatives can be easily resolved... get a top case for your helmet & add a taller windscreen. Easy Peasy. No more negatives. 😂 I rode a PCX a lot when I lived in Asia. Now that I'm back in the States, I really miss it... So I decided to buy one! They aren't as plentiful here as they are in Asia & Europe tho. Hard to find a dealer that actually has one in the showroom. 🤔 I even get the feeling they may discontinue the PCX in the US. 😱 They didn't even announce a 2024 model here yet! Uh oh. So I am gonna try & nab a 2023 or 2022 model as quickly as I can find one. I prefer the white color PCX so hopefully the 2022. 🤞

    Gday mate as you probably well know these are made in thailand ,also one of the most popular scooters there as well, my brother in law has the 150 and he is lets say a big boy . My soft spot goes to the old forza 300 not the new one which they shaved a load of bulk off of i liked the fat shape of the old one . They are a lovely scooter and for bangkok traffic ideal commuter in the city as you say light as but there are certain roads they cannot go on because of the speed they can atain anyway good review on a nifty little scoot .

    Thanks for reviewing the PCX, I'm trying to choose between this and the NMAX. I prefer the look of the NMAX, the dash has far more information on it's less trendy but more readable LCD and the styling looks more modern. The NMAX also seems to be roomier for tall guys like me. The fact that Honda, unlike Yamaha, have chosen to fit a drum on the rear, so no rear ABS or linked braking at all, is disappointing, especially when in Thailand they choose to fit the bike with a disc. All that said I see quite a few reports of early engine wear (oil consumption) on the NMAX which may well be a deal breaker. In short the Honda engine in the NMAX chassis would be perfect! Thanks again.

    I thought about getting a scooter all my life. After watching your review, I ordered a red Honda PCX 125 just like the one you have. Can't wait for it, it should be delivered in July 2022. If I may ask, could you suggest a good quality full face helmet?

    I would get one of these of an nmax to bob around on but I will always be a fair weather rider,so it would be parked up for 3 months over winter. On a motorcycle I could bump start it when I come to ride it...but with these stop start keyless auto bikes I dont think it would be that simple. And I couldn't be assed taking it apart just to get to the battery.

    Lucky old me! 60 years on two wheels only came to the pcx 2017 after hip replacement. Now have 2019 model. Absolute new lease of life, my wealthy mate swapped his street triple for a 125 forza and we are lucky enough to live at the southern end of the Derbyshire Dale's so 100 mile days out on the lovely A and B roads are the norm, priceless.
    My only gripe is with Honda uk is, my 2017 bike had notchy headstock bearings at 1 Yr old, done under warranty. Strangely my 2019 has the same problem on the two year service (both services done late due to covid delays) claim rejected, not happy

    Scooters are awesome fun around town. I rented a Piaggio Gilera for a week. It had an aftermarket exhaust on it and pops n crackles each time I close the throttle. But I wouldn’t say it’s more comfortable or economical than a PCX or an Nmax though.

    I do love the PCX, though not ridden a 125 version I doubt it could be that much different to the 150 really.
    The build quality and reliability of these is amazing. You can often judge these kind of bikes by their second hand adverts. Unlike most large capacity bikes, scoots most commonly have to work for their breakfast and so it’s completely normal to see them 2 or 3 years old (usually whenever the warranty/finance ends) with more than a few dozen thousand Km’s and the PCX’s always stay looking great which I think says it all really.
    Deal breakers for me are primarily the under seat storage - it’s just too measly for no real reason - and being a tall fella there’s not a lot of knee room on them. I tried this and the adv150 a bunch but ended up with an nmax purely because more leg room, fits a man sized helmet.
    I would disagree with you Andy in that I think automatic shut off is a nuisance on a scooter not a boon lol, but to each their own! For me these things don’t actually burn enough fuel at idle for it to make any difference and you want the motor already running once you’ve filtered to the front, so I don’t really see the point, useless complexity in my book.
    But TC is good, as is finally getting rid of the drum at the back, and scooters always need keyless as little shits will try and steal them
    Overall good bike, but c’mon Honda… make it fit a proper full face helmet already

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback - fair points! You can of course turn off the idle stop feature and according to insurance companies keyless actually makes bikes more stealable!

    • @jonpram1737
      @jonpram1737 2 года назад

      @@TheMissendenFlyer can you turn it off-off or does it reset to on at every power off like an electronics device from the 80’s?
      Interesting on the keyless report though! Is that high tech crims hacking the thing or just being able to wheel it away easier? Bit of a shame as I hoped it might at least slow them down lol. Never had a bike with it, but I do have a car with it and fortunately learnt before it was too late that you can start the bloody thing if the key fob is in a room adjacent to the garage. Not sure if it’s a super powerful keyfob or just my garage walls are made of Papier-mâché. I notice on my wife’s newer car it does seem to only be able to start if the key fob is in the garage however. For example in her handbag on the counter next to the car… lol
