So which one would you suggest the most nmax or pcx
Both are great options! All depends on individual needs and wants tbh. The PCX is a bit cheaper, likely better economy, and offers quite similar performance to the Nmax. The Nmax however, has dsic brakes all-around (PCX has rear drum) and dual ABS, along with the variable valve actuation system which allows quite good acceleration up to about 50mph. Really not a lot to separates these two, and will be personal preference.
This should be pinned up top, I was looking for someone to have asked this question. Surely what most people want to know. Thank you for the review 👍
Nmax all day long, dual discs with ABS and traction control. Doesn't sound like much but in an 'oh shit' moment when you grab those brakes, you're going to be glad you made that choice.
@@Alan-ur9jo yess you are absolutely right I have got pcx and yesterday I almost crashed breaks are shit on pcx soon I might get a nmax
@@BikeMatters All this crying about the lack of a rear disk brake is completely OTT. I have one and ride it 'enthusiastically' and there have been zero issues on the rare occasions that I've needed to anchor up, both on dry and wet roads. Sure, if you REALLY yank the rear brake all the way home you'll lock up the wheel, but you're not braking correctly if you reach that point as the front disk brake handles the vast majority of braking duties just fine on its own, so long as you've got some tread on your tyre.
If you want to pay around £300-500 more for an Nmax which has zero storage and you'll also have to carry your lid around everywhere with you, just to have a rear disk brake which you might actually use properly on approximately 2 occasions in your entire ownership, sure - go ahead and live with that trade off.
For me the PCX functions just fine and I suspect all those worked themselves up into a lather over the rear drum brake have either never ridden one or if they have, they don't know how to ride properly. It's a complete non-issue. Let's not forget that most cooking-spec cars these days still come with rear drum brakes as standard and everyone manages just fine.
getting a new one next wednesday 1st of march . already have a sh mode 125 ,had a pcx in the past. love hondas . 74 in 3 weeks time so like light and simple to ride now . my wife has a vespa and we ride together .she is nearly 72 . we are making the best of retirement on our bikes.
Great to hear, enjoy!
Interesting, I always thought the SHMode a good compromise between spec and low price, what made to go back to the PCX?
I have this exact scooter and what can I say, its a work horse that just keeps on going.
It'd done just under 2000 miles since May and there hasn't be a problem yet pure brilliants
Excellent news - glad you're enjoying it
2000 miles is brand new "it just keeps going" yeah I would hope so at 2k
I love the Honda PCX, It's such a great bike I can't get enough of riding it.
Been wanting something like this for so long and you might have just convinced me. Thanks for the review!
Glad you enjoyed the review! thanks for the comment
Put deposit down for this scooter a week ago and can’t wait to ride it as my first with a cbt. This vid made me more impatient. Thanks for the review 😁🛵
Awesome - enjoy!
How is it, im doing my cbt next week and looking at this one to buy?
@@majidalihamid so far no problems, runs well, only had to refill once so far, easy to handle and get used to, its my first and only bike and I’d recommend it to anyone new. Good luck 😁
@@blazepheonix11 how are the rear brakes
@@fahianmiah3489 good and easy to use for slow speed manoeuvres, don’t need to squeeze hard for you to feel them working, if you’re buying brand new though you do need to break them in a bit, which includes the front ones as well.
i have 2020 model.its the same red colour ,lovely bike. i also have recently bought a sh350i. both 1st class.thank you honda for such excellent fit and finish and reliability. had many Hondas since 1970s.
How does the sh control feel after riding pcx for a while which handles better pcx or sh
Looking at this for my daily commute of 25km each way. mostly country roads, first bike.
I used to have a 2012 PCX. It was a great all rounder doing about 60 miles per day commuting and it even survived a ride from Northamptonshire to the Shetland isles and back. If the made a 250 version of be tempted to run one alongside my motorcycle.
Have an sh125, it has dual abs top box and bigger screen. The pcx has a slightly bigger fuel tank, and just about the same spec, except for rear abs. Those chrome bars could take a bit of attention [polish], having previously had bikes with chrome wheels etc, they would tarnish if constantly exposed to rain. Thanks for the good review, will put the pcx on my short list for next spring.
Had 2010 pcx for a year and a half. Loved it. Traded it in for the MSX Or Grom (depends on where your from) but with desiel going up and up I've just ordered a new pcx hopefully be here in 3 weeks time. Can't wait for that 140 mpg. Bet my car 34 mpg going back and forwards to work.
The chrome handlebar is kind like the image of Honda PCX. It shouts quality unlike most handlebar that comes with plastic cladings. I own the 2019 PCX, after more than 33,000 km, the handlebar is still shiny like new with just a simple wash. Plastic would need some kind of oiling to enhance its look. I happened to test ride the Honda Forza 300. I wish the Forza comes with stainless steel handlebar as well, may be a more sturdy version of some sort
Nice Video! Thanks for sharing.
I have a red pcx 2021 exactly same but with top box cant go wrong with it
Great review dude👊
Thanks mate.
How tall Are you. Is it comfortable for your height?
My PCX 2017 got stolen from my work place about 2 weeks ago, hopefully it will be be all sorted by insurance company this week, then I'm going to get the fonzer 125.unless I can get a 2022 pcx.
Got my pcx on Thursday and got the black version so the chrome handlebars look awesome. I have found myself using mostly front break and a little back break to knock off a little speed when needed
Hope you are still getting on well with it?
Just got a PCX after having many other bikes (previously a 1200 Suzy bandit) - reason so the kids can ride it, and like it a lot. Only thing that hit me was the wing mirrors seem restricted so can't just glance at them to see what behind - have to work at it to have a good look. Def a nice pice of machinery, just those wing mirrors.
I'm a newbie and never bought a bike. On Sunday I went to a 2-day Mobility Resort Motegi Honda event, There I had a chance to get on a PCX Honda. I was pretty excited and thinking of buying one. Anyone has any experience riding it in the mountains as I love to go hiking in the mountains of Japan. A great video, thanks for posting.
Put my deposit on my PCX bit having to wait for March 😭 love the review. Also love the jacket 👌
This'll be the longest wait you've ever had! Appreciate the comment though! Link to the jacket in the description if you fancy getting one to go with the new scoot
Same man honda told me it would be 4-6 weeks...I'm still waiting since Jan
Good thorough review thanks. I like the chrome though. Shiny!
Cheers mate
Got mine 3 weeks ago and done 700 miles. The mpg is 130+ around town and 100 when ragging it around. Top speed is an indicated 68but the speedo is consistently 10% higher than reality. At 6'2" its a bit cramped but i'm going to get an aftermarket seat. Great fun to piss about on.
Awesome news - glad you are having fun!
How are the rear brakes
I just bought a new 2021 pcx 160...it looks in every way just like this 125. how can i verify i have a 157cc and not a 125? Im starting to wonder if my local dealer even knows what the have sold me... thanks
Have PCX 125 from 2021 and happy so far. Only on the highways it could be guicker.
Only sit is short, limited by the step to the passenger sit and make siting quite uncomfortable.
Wind protection could help to increase comfort
Just sold mine. Got the cb125 f now. When I pass my mod 2 . I'll get another pcx. . brilliant scooter
What made you sell it? I am going to keep mine when I receive it brand new for a long time hopefully until its dead. Will be keeping it locked well at all times and give it the best care for daily city riding.
@@keith23uk just to practice on a geared bike . as soon as i pass full test back on the pcx
I do not know what to choose. Pcx OT cb125f. What is bigger ? Or less fuel consumption? Can You tell something more about pc and cb125f?thanks
@@stolustravel3906 fuel consumption is better on the pcx. The cbf requires less maintenance cause you don't have to replace rollers, belt and ramp guides. Where as on the cbf you only need to do chain and sprockets. Along with oil. The yamaha xsr125 is a good bike. Yamaha reliability aswell
Hi, great video. Any chance of a review on the 2022 125cc Forza?
Thanks for the comment. We'll be sure to review more Hondas in 2022, just not sure what models yet... thanks for the suggestions we'll add it to our list.
anyone know the exact measurement size front the ground to the top of the windshield ? want to know if if will fit into a motorhome garage. thanks
Still rocking a 2013, its unstoppable
Does that start stop thing save fuel
Am in Africa where some of this bikes are rare and am planning on getting a 2020 pcx model just for daily average use not city to city traveling.. What is ur advise on that?
Can It last for like 5-6 years (what's likely for me to change in those years let me know )..
Sorry for the English though..
in london they are used for food deliveries, courier work etc. saw one for sale the other day with 78,000 miles on it. they are the best for long life. change the oils on time, also air filter.best wishes from the U K.
Nice if there is a color of PCX 125cc similar to the design of Red, but Midnight Blue PCX 125 cc version or at least 3 different colors to choose!!
From a personal point of view, with you now having tested both 2021 bikes Nmax and Pcx, where would your money go?
Such an awkward one to answer as I rate both very highly along with the Piaggio Medley.
I would be delighted to have either tbh. PCX is more budget-friendly and slightly more economical, Nmax is more of the complete all-arounder with the Variable Valve Actuation and better braking too, I tend to side to the latter ever so slightly. Both scooters really are great and there isn't a simply one is best, it will be what is best for your personally.
Please make a video on Honda sh125i thanks
Planning on getting a scooter in about April or May and at the moment it is between this Honda PCX or the Yamaha NMax but it is really difficult to decide which one. The Nmax currently is about £3700 new and the PCX £3500 so my question is is the Nmax worth paying £200 more? I’ve had a Honda PCX 2015 so now I’m thinking should I try a Yamaha because it looks better than the PCX but it’s a bit slower, underseat storage is less which makes my decision difficult
The nmax is £3775, the pcx is £3599. The nmax is slightly faster on top end. Definitely quicker on acceleration due to the lighter rollers and variable valve actuation.
Grimsby to the Wirral....£12. Honda engines are bulletproof. Shame they can't corner like the old Dylan. I've had all the honda 125s ,most of them suffer from wind shear when sideways on and no seat of the pants feeling like the Dylan. My 10 year old Dyan has been laid up for 11 years, now it's having a full service, then hi ho silver. My friend has a honda scooter from the early seventies and she's still riding it
Is the pcx 2021 faster than the nmax?
Count me as one of those who actually love the chrome handlebars. 👍🏼 So much nicer than the plastic covered handlebars of most other mini/maxi scooters. I do agree about the rear brake tho. Honda is really clinging to the rear drum brake! 😂 Perhaps the 2024 model will finally get a rear disc brake too. 🤷♂️
Personally I quite like the chrome handlebars , but on the other hand I think Matt black handlebars should at least be an option.
It’s a good all round scoot by the look and sound of it, not overly keen on the Keyless ignition remote idea, good candidate for losing it while out and about abs then being stranded.
I think I’d prefer a key ignition if that was an option.
If you ride a non-smartkey bike in Vietnam you'll get it stolen. Smartkey is a must.
I have to say i wish Honda would lose the rather gawdy chrome they plaster so many of the their scooters with.
Getting the same colour on order with Honda put down my deposit! Yes I have to wait X amount of weeks but oh well will be worth the wait! I didn't go for a dark colour as want to be seen on the road. Also goes with my red hi-vis lol!
Have to wait to ride again as had to sell my 2018 Chinesium Lexmoto Titan after over 3 years use daily and too much maintenance it developed a problem I could not fix. Even though I tried ALL suggested fixes and wasting money on more parts the dam thing would not idle normally! Trust me I tried everything to avoid going on public transport but just kept ridiculous high revs building up or cut out after 2 mins of warm up when hitting throttle! Glad that dam thing is GONE lol!
Hope you get on well with your PCX!
Close call between this and the nmax. Try both!
I am 99% into my A license but I think I will get PCX or NMAX since I don't really care for big bikes. I just want something to pick up small groceries and food in the city :)
Both of these are fantastic scooters! Hence why they did so well in our top 10 125cc scooters 2022 video as well.
Can you disable the idle stop? This is not the good idea that it seems to be.
Yes. And it's perfectly fine. It just saves money on petrol.
Nicely done, thank you - you mentioned you would like a powerful 125, is there one?
It would be good to see it with the max 14.7bhp allowed in a 125cc, would likely reach 70mph quite comfortably.
@@BikeMatters Yup, so with your knowledge do you know of a 14.7bhp for sale - any make?
@@drdoolittle5724 Piaggio Medley, Forza 125 is over 14hp.
@@BikeMatters You are a star, thank you!
@@drdoolittle5724 piaggio medley, piaggio medley s, italjet dragster, yamaha xmax, sym joymax+, are all over 14bhp. But don't forget the higher the horsepower. The more expensive it is to insure. Out of my 2021 pcx 125 and 2022 nmax and 2022 aprilia sr gt. The nmax is the cheapest to insure.
Would you suggest this for a short rider 5’4”?
Youll be fine.
Is it aviable india?
Have got a question.
Which one is better pcx 125 or sym JetX 125 ? Can’t decide
Well a PCX is more reliable and easy to get parts for. Had a 2016 that's done over 55,000 miles
Witch ever one you wanna choose. The sym has lower maintenance schedules. Requires alot more maintenance than a pcx would. If you want reliability go for the pcx. Or even an nmax or piaggio medley.
Hello im 184 will it be fine for me?
Miles per gallon?? What is that
Hi I have honda pcx125 I want food delivery insurance can you do for me
I would like to see review of yamaha tricity 125
Thanks for the recommendation
😎 I love my ADV 150!!
Wrong video lol
Hi bike matters what it is I have one if these my idle stop has suddenly stopped working do u maybe know why this this is
Have you turned it off on the switchgear?
Go to a dealer? Could be a fuse blown or the switch gear itself.
Can the start/stop system be turned off?
Yes
Mine only says 85 miles per gallon average. California purchase-what’s up with that?
Us gallon is less than uk gallon.

Both good ,honda bulletproof motor...end of. No blow no go. Have fun
Pcx 125 or Jet X 125 in 2024?
Pcx vs nmax what would you say is faster sportier, which one rides more fun 😊
Both are very close together not a lot to separate tbh. Maybe the Nmaxrever so slightly thanks to the VVA.
@@BikeMatters my guy 🤟🤟
What about the piaggio liberty 150
I did a test on the Liberty 125 ruclips.net/video/DEc5T41SdGI/видео.html
we don't really do 150 over here in the UK, CBT restriction is 125cc, so that tends to be what they stick to.
The Japanese models have rear disc brakes, but sadly only front ABS.
They're all made in Indonesia or Taiwan. Including the 150 155 and 160cc. Lol
@@JDMz I know that the Japanese models are made in Taiwan. Just like the US model iPhones are made in China.
And what's a PCX 155? I think there are some differences between the Taiwan models and Japanese models even if they are both manufactured at the same factory.
Sorry, did he say rear drum brake?
Yep
What is the top speed
65mph
Im not a fan of the chrome handlebars they gonna create a glare in your eyes from the sun. I did my test on a manual bike. Twin ABS should be standard in 2021.
Glad I am not the only one not 100% on the chrome bars.
Put some black tape on them.
This or sym jet X?
I personally didn't get to ride the Sym Jet X (review coming soon) Roger said it was brilliant, with very little in the way of negatives, I rode the PCX and it is simply one of the best 125cc scooters on the market, I would give it to the Honda personally but really not a lot in it and always best to have a look at both in person.
Pcx, Medley or Nmax
Where would your money go?
All three are great options and it is just down to each rider.
PCX is cheaper and probably the most economical and has pretty much everything a commuter would want.
The Medley is the more expensive option though has the most powerful engine and has a little extra stability due to the large wheels, with excellent braking.
The Nmax is the all-arounder it basically has a mix of everything inc brake discs front and back with dual ABS, along with VVA and funnily enough is smack back in the middle for money too.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time on all three and each one has its own perks.
The handlebars of the PCX has always been a bit of let down for me. It just looks odd, it looks out of place amongst the majority plastic body
i find the bars very comfortable, motorbike style.
Did you say 113kg or 130kg?
130 kg
@@BikeMatters i see. There's barely any difference from the pcx 160.
PCX or NMAX ?
all down to personal choice, as very little, separates the two! PCX is slightly cheaper with better fuel economy (just), Nmax though has disc brakes to back as well as front and has dual ABS along with the VVA system for spritely acceleration. No right or wrong here, just personal preference - they are both great options.
Lots of panels, lots of service time, just a thought on the pcx. Watch the service vids
I was going to buy the Nmax but the Nmax can't fit my helmet under the seat, the PCX can.
Did you try putting the helmet in upside down in the Nmax? Watch our spec video on the Nmax to show how ours fitted... ruclips.net/video/-z1Dv7yuPlA/видео.html
Maybe they should of pushed it up to 13 bhp.. Especially when the fonzer is 14 bhp
I'd love them to make it 14.7hp and put it on the limit for a 125.
I am thinking of buying either this or the Piaggio Medley. I definitely prefer the look of the PCX but also liked the 14.7BHP and large degital display of the Medley. The price point of the PCX is also better at £3.200 versus the other one for £3,800. Decisions.....decisions. Sigh!!! #LoL
Medley will be fantastic engine but check leg room...I sat on both, Medley cramped
Both are great options!
Get a bigger cc scooter than like forza
Great reveiw but...your comment about chrome handle bar not really going along with the rest of the trim was like of a woman's comment who's on her period or just about to have one. Move on without mentioning it buddy. "Be a man, do the right thing" like a Chinese dude explains here by Russell Peters ruclips.net/video/ITwPzduUmCw/видео.html
