Thanks for educating me on this field of medicine. I had brain surgery for the resection of a tumor back in 2011. These videos really give me a look into what occurred to help save my life. Thumbs up!

I am glad you explained your job. I always thought that person handing the instruments to the surgeon was the nurse. As a matter of fact today was the 1st time I ever heard of a surgical tech, that's what brought me here

I did the exact same thing at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill in its oral surgery unit. I was specifically trained for that after a year of training as a dental assistant, which included learning about the entire oral surgery process and all tools required. I had no idea that the same role existed for non-oral medical surgery. I definitely assumed they were all RNs.

Thank you so much for your RUclips channel. I've watched all your videos and you have been a huge inspiration to me. I was very nervous and not knowing much but always wanted to assist in the OR as I once was a patient and the surgeon saved my life. So I wanted to give back and decided I wanted to check it out. Your videos pushed me to do more research and I am happy to say I got accepted to Mandl Institute in NYC and just finished my first week of school. It's so much to learn but I love the challenge. Keep posting videos there is nothing out there that gives us much of an idea than your videos and I want to thank you for taking the time to give us future Surgical Technologist a glimpse behind the scenes. Keep Inspiring <3

Great video! I do the same job as you in the UK, although my job title is Operating Department Practitioner (we get called ODP's for short). Your videos have been very informative and have made me think about how things are slightly different when compared to the hospital I work in for the NHS.
