The 4.3 can handle a lot. The mother-in-law had a 4.3 Truck with over 500,000 km and we regularly pulled our 30-FT Winnebago with it, when it wouldn’t run. The truck was mostly original when it comes to the engine, but the transmission was rebuilt at one point around 250,000 km. The old truck still ran and drove when it went to the scrap yard, just a frame was starting to bend, from hauling water in the bed.

Still, the 4.3 held in there no problem, even after being overheated to the point of boiling the coolant time and time again. That thing must've been SO much fun to abuse.
You have no blow off valve so you're getting compressor surge because the boost pressure has no where to escape so it's going back to the turbo that's probably why the seals are going out plus the way your feeding oil to it isn't helping either

AKA dump quad tires lol. my dad has an 06 gmc 1500 that is so clapped it's not even funny I bought him a new truck so I'm taking his truck and putting a gt3582 (sponsored by ching Chong Ling long) and a set of 34" atv tires with 3" tall lugs..... just like my pecker haha. @@CompleteToiletGarage yah I know but you had it mounted then called it the wrong thing and when you mount it it is still gonna bleed off exhaust when the exhaust pressure reaches the spring rating which is why you couldn’t blow that junk up. You never put more than about 5 lbs of boost into that engine because the WASTEGATE was getting pushed open. That is also why it was so lazy when you were trying to do burnouts
@@600wheel it never bled off, nothing is hooked up on it. You can hear by the BOOST blowing back thru the turbo anytime we had it full spooled and let off the throttle. It didn't spool initially cause of all the leaks we had going on with using the stock intake piping. Once i got rid of the last "boost leak" that was going into the crank case it spooled instantly.
@@CompleteToiletGarage what you have is designed to bleed off exhaust (a wastegate) you don’t need to hook hoses to it it has a spring inside of it that pushes a valve against the bottom forcing exhaust gasses thru the exhaust turbine when the exhaust pressure gets to a certain point that spring releases the valve and exhaust pressure bleeds off. It has got nothing to do with boost pressure as far as bleeding off the boost between the turbo and the engine, that thing on your truck is a wastegate, you’re talking about a blow off valve which you didn’t even have on the vehicle, the blow off valve goes between the turbo and the throttle body The wastegate goes between the exhaust and the hot side turbine and if you hook up hoses to it then you can control when it releases exhaust pressure but if you have no hoses hooked to it that spring will still release exhaust pressure when exhaust pressure gets to whatever that spring is rated at. It has an entirely different sound when it opens up, suddenly your exhaust gets louder. These are all basic explanations I don’t want some turbo fanatic to get in here and chew my ass out. A Chinese wastegate without a heavier spring put into it and no hoses on it will release pressure in the exhaust stopping the turbo from creating any more boost between five and 10 psi like I said that’s why the truck was so lazy. That pressure release sound you hear when I properly built turbo system drives past you and the person lifts off the throttle is because a blow off valve is releasing air from between the turbo and the throttle body. The increased exhaust sound you hear when someone has the throttle full open and is building boost is the wastegate releasing pressure in the exhaust system. The stuttering sound you hear when someone takes their foot out of the throttle and is decelerating after a hard pull with a turbo car is a turbo that does not have a blow off valve installed so the turbo is surging. If you want to blow up a motor quickly with a turbo do not install a wastegate at all. That way the turbo will be forced to build all the boost without any relief and the motor will be fed 30to40 psi very quickly and continue to climb. Just because you did not hook up hoses does not mean it stops working it just means it stops working in the way you intended. There is a way to hook up a hose to an installed wastegate and have it build infinite pressure until something explodes but I don’t feel like explaining that and there’s no point in doing it if what you’re doing is just trying to make things explode, leave the wastegate in the box next time and things will definitely explode

I just took the plate out of mine and drilled the rivets out then welded the holes
that was the only "performance" mod i did to this thing originally when it was a daily. Definatly helped!
Ive heard swapping to a marine intake on the vortec v6 can get you a decent hp increase too

I used to have a 21 foot bow rider with a ,4.3 in it.Put a four barrel on it and a cam,with a 21 pitch prop on it she'd do 55mph.

Disconnect the front 4x4 actuator on the front diff and put it in 4-lo now you have lo gear burnouts and 1st gear won’t matter
